How does your game tie into the theme?
It's ghosts fighting humans (seems pretty haunted to me)

Absolutely FANTASTIC music and artwork!

Unfortunately the gameplay was kind of unfair. Sometimes it didn't feel like I was even hitting anyone, meanwhile the enemies smacked me like tons of bricks. The ones that were ultra-fast were overkill and always ended my runs. I think that, overall, the enemies should've just had WAY less health.

It's alright, though. I got like 70 points.

absolutely loved the death animation

The controls felt a bit clunky and I never really did figure out how to fight. ALL the art is amazing and the death animation is very cute.

I was a bit disappointed when the game started and it wasn't a fighting-style game, but then again you rarely see that kind in a game jam.  It was a funny combination of ghosts and boxing and I liked the punchline in the name fright-club.  I couldn't really figure out the controls very well, or at least it didn't feel like there was a strategic way to use my controls in order to win and survive more.
Either way, good job!

Fun audio design and use of the "right" sounds to marry to 16 bit visuals, which are also a treat. A little more feedback about fighting would be helpful, I took a little bit to figure out what I was doing before I started taking everything down, I thought dashing was attacking at first for some reason.

Lol such a funny concept, the idea of a ghost just wailing on people. Nice game!

It's a good concept. I love the sprites and animations that you've made. They're pretty cool (especially death animation). I finished the main game and tried brawl, but I still couldn't figure out how to fight properly in this game.

Good game, I like the art style and music.

Super cool concept, great music, fantastic sprites and animations, awesome work!

I liked the music a lot! The death animation was also pretty. I couldnt figure out how to kite the enemies and fight super effectively, but it's fun running around the ring and trying to get in hits where I can. Good job!

Fun game! Very pretty and polished art alongside the spooky cover of the 'Punch-Out' theme.

The only suggestion I would have is that I was unable to clearly see whether the opponent was successfully hit or not. A better visual indication would save some confusion.

Overall I had a lot of fun beating up people as a ghost.

Nice and consistent art, it was always clear what's what on the screen and what's happening. I wasn't sure about the range of my attack. The music was a but annoying for me, but fortunately I could turn it down right away.

The best tactic I found is that if you only have 1 or 2 opponents, you can constantly dash in their face while also smashing the attack and it looks like they can't hit you but you land some of the attacks.

those are the tanks which i screwed the numbers up for so they have low hp and really low attack speed, sorry!

To be fair I was totally fine with glitching my way through :)

Fun art style and concept, but the controls were a bit confusing. I couldn't tell if I was actually effecting the enemies or just being a punching bag myself.

Developer

you can in fact deal damage with both the dash and attack (the dash deals half the damage of the attack though)

Love the concept and great art work! Not sure what dash (Spacebar) and Attack (Left click) do differently and when I should use one instead of the other.

Developer

thank you! dashes move farther, do half the damage, and damage enemies in all directions

I love the sprite jiggles, and the music has good energy/tempo. Good work! Sadly, I got pancaked between two boxers and died rapidly.

Developer

i was gonna make dashes pass through enemies and i tried it out and thought "that makes the movement feel to slippery" whoops! 🤦

Really great name choice, wonderful art style, great sound, and fun gameplay. Honestly not a ton of notes, was a fun time. Main thing I would have loved to see is allowing you to pass through enemy collisions during the dash, as it sometimes was easy to get stuck in 1 position from a mass of bodies. Great work!

Developer

I was about to add that then was like “no that makes the movement too slippery feeling” whoops! (Ps try spamming dash it damages everyone around you at once)
