Can’t play it as the text stays in a certain way forever.
That's weird, have you tried full screening it using the button in the lower right-hand corner?
Well, i did figure out the orange text actually continued it… No clear indications so it confused me at first.

I have this error when I launch the game: A fatal error has occurred. Aborting.
I'm sorry, and it seems like your game is touching :/ .
oh that just happens when you run the game in incognito mode for me, but on my main browser its fine. got something to do with storage but i blame twine for this one
I am utterly speechless after the game. just, wow
I didn't expect to be moved by a jam game, really good writing it was very interesting.
This is really wonderful and poignant. It gave me Oyasumi Punpun vibes, if you're familiar with that manga. Loved the meta approach.
im not familiar, but im about to be lmao, ty for the rec! glad you liked my lil twine game :)
Had a lil meditation upon the theme. Thanks!
Not exactly my cup of tea, but definitely a creative idea.
Well done.
yeah its my tea >:)
thanks for playing!
...so yeah Twine 2 is actually obnoxious AF...
Nah, but for real, I feel ya. This smacks a lot of the stuff going through my head when I was a teenager. Art's hard, dude. Communication's hard. Vulnerability is scary.
You know, Mark Gonzalez (the skater & artist) said in an interview once that he grew up skating & art'ing as a sort of way to communicate with a thing that's not alive but still his friend, in a sense. He apparently struggled with communication a lot, as a kid.
This reminds me of that. Like communicating with a thing instead of the scary kind of communication with other humans. Then maybe those other humans tease apart whatever comes out as a result & grow to understand you a bit more as a result. Or at least some idea or feeling hanging on your head at the time.
I appreciate your communication with this thing. I won't say it's the best thing ever but I hear you. Maybe that's the important bit.
fun fact, i actually did scramble my own twine project for that one shot so now going back and editing the damn thing is impossible xD
Twine 2 [harder this time]
ty for the thoughtful comment tho, i did not expect "i rant in a twine game for a bit" to reach anyone, but apparently it did and thats something haha. "self -> thing? -> other people or world" is an interesting framing. i will tear it apart with my little gay hands, ty :p
This is more than a game, this is an experience.
Isn't it strange that creating a game purely for oneself has become a role reversal? I think that's what this game is, pure. It's just you, and thank you for sharing.
Now this "game"(?) probably won't have a universal appeal. But I've got to say, this is something that really appeals to me. It is hard to judge and criticise, because I'm not even sure I have a position to give feedback on here. We're on a project that feels truly personal. The creator sharing thoughts, from a human to another through an interactive medium.
I think the video game as an art medium is often seen as lesser, given that it is usually first and for all a product that needs to be sold, that it needs to be engaging and fulfil some kind of entertainment to the player. And that's why I love the approach taken here.
Now what if the point was to have such experience sold to a larger public? Then the feedback I would give would be to keep it simple like here, but the addition of small things, like some music and a bit of sound design could highten a lot the experience. And I think the sharing of thoughts could go even further. What a great feeling it is to read some lines from a random human, that maybe lives on another continent, that I probably will never meet, with whom I might actually have very different beliefs and interests, and yet, somehow, we still share some train of thoughts. That even in this huge world with so many beings, we can still find something to relate to each other, in the simplest to the grander aspects of who we are.
Anyways, a big comment for a game with lots of text. I'll just finish by saying I enjoyed the art, and that key art for the game is especially striking, which is funny when you see how simple it is. The colors are just so efficient, and I can't help but think of Goodnight Punpun when I see the character, which is even more fitting here for the people familiar with that series of books.
thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback! i agree that sound design would be really nice, i started to try to figure out how to make twine do that and then my eyes glazed over lol
im glad you liked my weird lil twine game!
The emotions were felt
Didn't expect a game using Comic Sans to get so philosophical.
If it's using comic sans then something has gone seriously wrong with my code xD
Game Haunted
Lol! Did you embed your font in the game? If you didn't, it might've chosen a standard Windows font for me instead.
local code plays funni prank on dev who just went "oh ok, the font changed," and moved on xD
@font-face{
font-family: "Rowdies", cursive;
src: url("https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Rowdies:wght@300&display=swap");
}
body {
background-color: black;
color: white;
font-family: "Rowdies", cursive;
font-size: 125%;
}
genuinely no idea if it worked and it just looks extremely similar to comic sans or if comic sans magically apparated in my game but ill take either outcome bc its funny lmao
I usually like to search for this kind of experiences on itch, but didn’t expect anything like this on a GMTK jam. Thought-provoking and hypnotic take on the theme.
thank you!! also give me recs, i dont play nearly enough of this kinda game myself [too busy being addicted to dredge i guess lmao]
Art is stylistically fun, and on top of that I had fun during the whole venture and was easily entertained. I'll be honest and say I haven't gone out of my way to check if there's any specific other endings I can get but I did have a lot of fun with this.
Gameplay light but very interesting and kept me engaged the whole way throug
The art is cool. Didn't expect a text adventure.
I like this those artworks are great
