Little known facts on this blog about me LOL. I used to train Thoroughbreds at the track and when Jak offered this image from Just Inklined, called Stables , I first thought of using one of the kids pictures to showcase it, and then thought it would be fun to use a photo of me with one of my winning mares. The Old Grey mare she Ain't what she used to be ( you pick).,. LOL:
The image was colored with copic markers and I tried to give the feel of barn planks and the beauty of a well oiled leather saddle and the velvety black of the helmet. Not exactly what you would use in the Horse racing industry but it was all a part of our barn as the kids rode and the exercise riders came to work the runners :). We had a gallop track on the farm.
The dp behind the photo is a darling red and white polka dot from my stash and I love the red and white polka dot ribbon tied in a knot bow. The 5 red dots were added to the white layer to add a splash of color to the crackled finish.
I added a pair of hand made red roses with leaves as the finishing touch to the Sadle image and my win picture as a memory I may hang for a bit for a bit of nostalgia.
Be sure to check out the new images at www.justinklined.com as there were more new ones added this week. As always something for everyone.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing my nostalgic moment with me :)
Hugs,
Cathy

Thursday means--Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Its a Sketch!!!
Iulia, is the ubber talented hostess this week for the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge and she has chosen a sketch challenge. It is a wonderful one too. Here is my card using G-faa:
I love animals, and I love when animals are as beautifully drawn as Mo has drawn this darling little giraffe. When one of my daughter's and her family came up a few weeks ago, we went to the zoo here in Omaha. We are so fortunate to have one of the best Zoo's in the country right here, and we try to go often.
The sketch was so fun to follow and I tried, tried being the optimum word, to follow the sketch as closely as possible with the layout. The card is really large because I wanted all the details to show. I wanted to use lots of textures and visually for the card to look and feel natural. I thought the colors were kind of jungle colors....
Instead of a swirl I let the ribbon cascade down, and because I thought the card had a masculine feel I used a SU rounded tab punch flat behind the circle punch for a different sentiment circle look. Haven't used that one for a while, always liked that for a guy card. Here is the sketch:
Be sure to stop by the Challenge blog and see what the DT has created for you to see now that they all have their power back on and are no longer trying to color by flashlight or candle light during the aweful hurricane they endured on the East Coast week. We are so thankful none of our DT members were injured or their homes destroyed in the hurricane, but many of them were without power or even had to evacuate as they were directly affected by the storm. Leave them a little extra love they have definitely earned it.
Mo is still on a roll with new images so be sure to check out the new pumpkins I just saw which would be so perfect for all those fall cards.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderfully creative day!!!

Just Inklined Blog Hop--It's Spring!!!
Welcome to the Just Inklined Monthly Blog Hop!!! If you arrived here from Karen's Blog you are in the right spot. If not you should start at Jeni's Blog so you don't miss a single blog along the Hop. The fabulous Ms Jeni is the hostess this month for the Just Inkined Blog Hop and has chosen the theme, Anything Spring. I chose this darling Door Mouse:
I decided that the Door Mouse looked like he was just waking up after a long winter hiding in the little tea pot on the shelf adorned with beautiful dandelion pictures. The image was colored with copic markers and the image was created by merging 3 images together. The Door Mouse, the two different dandelion panels from Jak Heath's dp and the dandelion dp which is from the same bundle. I loved the colors and the patterns.
I twisted and resized hte dandelion panels until I liked them. I really love to merge images because there is so much you can do with them.
I made the hat pin with some fun beads and some silver cord and thought it was the perfect touch for the shelf ruffle made with crepe paper pleated onto a piece of ribbon tape...pretty cool huh?!?
The final touch was the I-Rock metal Glam Rocks in the upper left corner, it is fun to lay out the little swirls.
The next stop on your travels through the Hop is, Heidy, the newest member of the DT. Be sure to stop by the LaPashe site to see all the newest images.

Playtime!!!
I had time tonight to put a card together. I love the animal images from Just Inklined and my favorite are the Cocker Spaniels or Terriers that look like my little fur babies past and present. I chose this cute Cocker Spaniel Pup image for my project this week:
I decided that I was so done with Christmas colors LOL so decided to go with neutral tones for my image and mounted it on some rather abstract dp fromn Graphic 45. I colored the image with copic markers, sponged the outside edge with distress ink and mounted on beige and black dp.
The cute dog house was cut with my cricut and mounted over a brown and white checked ribbon. The Play ticket in the upper left corner is a Tim Holtz ticket and the bone attached to it is cricut cut. I love using my cricut to add the embellishments that help make my cards not quite so plain.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Mine is slightly delayed so the kids can all come up. We are having our Christmas over New Year's.
Be sure to stop by the Just Inklined blog and store to see what the rest of the DT and the store have to offer, I know the store is having a half price sale...that's a great deal any day.
Have a great day.

Who named this exercise a Walk?
I have been having a hard time having enough time to color all the darling Just Inklined images, there are so many I just love and they are so fun to color. Here is Daisy taking the dog for a "walk" and appropriately the image is called Walkies:
Does that look like your dog walking experience? LOL Glad I have a little dog!!!
The image was colored with copic markers and found a fire hydrant clip art I cut out and popped up in the lower right corner.
I stitched in a curvy border around the image to help give the feeling of little or no control.....
A distressed ribbon and 3 buttons and the "walkie" is complete.
Just Inklined just released another 2 groups of stamps and so I will have so many more fun images to share with you in the next few days.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the Just Inkined Blog to see all the newest images.
