JUGS #656

The fabulous team over at Just Us Girls blog has a challenge this week that's one of my favs.

Holiday Tags!!!

The three beverages are all from one set of dies.  Everything was cut from white cardstock and blended with dye inks to achieve my color choices.  I did a bit of sparkly embellishing on two of the beverages, added each to a bold color of cardstock and adhered them all to a white tag.  These were so fun to make!!!

Supplies:
Cottage Cutz - Coffee and Cocoa die set
Simon Says Stamp - Christmas Tiny Words stamp set
Penny Black - Gift Tag die

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #221

It's time for another Snarky Saturday from the Sisterhood.  With Trick or Treat Night happening in just a few days we thought it would be fun to see your snarky Halloween cards.  I combined some subtle snark with a very cute witch to create a very unscary card.

This has to be one of my all time favorite graphics.
 Very creepy!  Thanks Lee!

First up was to stamp, color and fussy cut out my cute witch.  I then stamped the  sentiment in black pigment ink onto the purple panel prior to embossing in a folder.  I also embossed a panel of black cardstock in exactly the same position.  I layered the two panels one on top of the other before making a cut about two thirds of the way down.  (This ensures a nice alignment.)  I pieced them together and added a a narrow strip of woodgrain cardstock overtop of the cut edges.  Finally I added some fun foam under the completed panel prior to adhering it to a white card base to give it a bit of dimension.

Supplies:
Unity Stamp Co - Spooky Girl stamp
Older CZ Design - please stamp
Spellbinders - Geo Screen embossing folder
Scraptastic - This Life Noted alpha stamp set
Altenew - woodgrain cardstock

Seize the Birthday #250

The Seize the Birthday challenge team is finishing off the month of October with a color challenge.  More specifically, a Halloween color challenge.  I opted for the traditional orange and black, even including a pumpkin in my birthday design.

My card went together really easily.  After die cutting the pumpkin and leaves from colored cardstocks I edged them a bit with Distress Oxide ink. The black background was created with the use of a plaid embossing folder.  I stamped the sentiment to a slim tag and tied it up with purple twine.  A few gems finished it off.

Supplies:
Spellbinders - Large Die of the Month  Oct 2019
Spellbinders - Swallowtail Tag dies
Fun Stampers Journey - Pretty Plaid embossing folder
Clearly Besotted - Tiny Type stamp set

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #220

It's another Snarky Saturday here at the Sisterhood.  In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month we are asking you to use Pink on your cards.  I went for a simple graphic style card with a very direct message.

I used circle and rectangle masking stencils to create the background using dye inks.  I stamped the sentiments in black pigment ink, matted the panel in black, adhered it to a white card base and finished it off with some clear droplets.

Supplies:
Unity Stamp Co - Oh Shit! stamp set
Taylored Expression - Masking Stencils

Perfectly CAS October Challenge

We are Going Pink over at the Perfectly CAS challenge blog this month.  I decided an autumnal themed card done in nontraditional colors would be fun to try.

In keeping with our 1/3 or less challenge requirement I opted for a top heavy card with lots of beautiful white space below achieved by some easy masking and ink blending.  The pumpkin and leaves were die cut from white cardstock and blended with Distress Oxides.  I added gold splatter to the elements and some water splatter to the blended panel.  I arranged the elements to the left of the card and stamped the sentiment on the right.  Super simple and fun.

Supplies:
Spellbinders - Large Die of the Month Oct 2019
Clearly Besotted - Tiny Type stamp set

I invite you to visit our blog and hope to see your CAS card in our gallery.

Seize the Birthday #249

It's time for a new topping over at the Seize the Birthday challenge blog.  See if you can guess the new prompt from my card.

Yep, today's topping is Faces.

I don't make many kids cards so today was the day to add a new one to my stash.  I thought this would make any little birthday girl smile.

This cutie was die cut in white then blended out with Distress Oxides.  The background panel is a single piece created by ink blending and partial embossing.  A simple sentiment and some clear droplets finished it off.

Supplies:
Spellbinders - Die of the Month Jan 2019
Spellbinders - Your Day stamp set
Spellbinders - Geo Screen embossing folder

Happy Little Stampers - October Anything Goes with Dies Challenge

Today starts a new round of Anything Goes with Die over at the Happy Little Stampers challenge blog.  My card uses a stencil and die set as it's focal point.

This card was simpler to make than it looks.  The texture on the background panel was created with an embossing folder.  The floral was created with a multi-step stencil and die combo.  The sentiment is a pre-printed label.  A sprinklinng of pearls was all that was left to do.  See?  Simple!

I invite you to join us over at the blog!

Supplies:
Altenew - Hill Blossoms layering stencils and dies
Altenew - Checkered Diamonds embossing folder
Simon Says Stamp - pre-printed sentiment strip
HoneyBee Stamps - pearl stickers

Color Hues #50

Happy Saturday!  Today I'm playing along with the Color Hues challenge blog using their current color duo.  Purple and orange just scream Halloween and I was looking for an excuse to create another card from this very cute set of stamps.

(Poor little no arm ghosty is feeling bit left out of the festivities.)

I used Distress Oxides to create the purple and orange blended background.  The ghosts were shaded just ever so slightly with a cool gray Copic marker.  I used a coordinating shade of alcohol marker to color in the wine.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white onto black cardstock.

Supplies:
Miss Ink - Boo Sheet stamp set
Distress Oxides

Happy Little Stampers - October Christmas Challenge

Happy October crafty friends.  As you know, Florida was recently hit by Hurricane Ian and life for many will never be the same.  Thankfully my little piece of Florida remained unscathed so we're breathing a huge sigh of relief at having dodged another storm.  My heart goes out to those who have lost everything.

Now on to something a bit happier....

Today I'm sharing my DT card for the Happy Little Stampers October challenge where our (optional) prompt is Frame.

This card was super simple to create thanks to an older Make it Market kit from PaperTrey Ink.  I used the stamps, dies and patterned papers to create my focal point, building up the layers with additional die cuts for some dimension. (All images are preprinted other than the stamped sentiment.)  I ran the card through my die cutter using an impression plate to create the texture on the front before adhering the elements.  Super Simple Card.

Supplies:
PaperTrey Ink - Make it Market Christmas kit (several years old)
PaperTrey Ink - Canvas Impression Plate

I invite you to visit our blog for more holiday inspiration.  We'd love to see your card in our gallery.  Remember, the prompts are always optional but remember that only holiday cards qualify.

Just Us Girl Challenge #652

Today I'm sharing a quick card I made this afternoon for the current Just Us Girls challenge blog where the prompt is Scraps.

I've hoarded a little scrap of an alcohol inked background for ages never knowing what to do with it but also not wanting to part with it.  THIS was just the kick I needed.

The die cut sentiment is an older one and being all one piece, made this very simple to create.  So simple in fact that I made it into a shaker card. :-)  The shaker consists of a total of four identically die cut panels with a layer of acetate between the top and second layer....followed by shaker bits and lastly the alcohol ackground.  (NOTE: I stamped the sentiment prior to assembling all of the layers.)  I punched a few hearts from the remaining sliver of background and used those as design elements.  Here's a closer look at the shaker section....

It makes my heart happy that I finally found a use for my beloved alcohol scrap.

Supplies:
WPlus9 - Fabulous die
WPlus9 - Flock Yeah stamp set
Ranger alcohol inks

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #219

It's time for another Snarky Saturday with the Sisterhood and we have a very fun prompt this time around.  Can you guess from my sentiment?

If you guessed Birthday try again.  LOL!

Yes, yes.  I know.  There's the MFT cocktail bedazzled arm once again.  Sorry not sorry.  It was just too perfect for this challenge and I'm not quite ready to put the die set away.

To make it a bit simpler on myself I used a piece of designer paper for my background.  I don't think it packs the punch that an ink blended background provides but patterned papers need some loving too.

I colored the elements with Distress Oxides and added sparkles to the beverage and glossy accents to the straw and fruit.  I matted the finished panel and stamped the greeting below the arranged images.  I adhered it to a colored card base for something a bit different.

We'd love for you to visit our blog for more inspiration from the Sisters as well as Stef, our Reigning Queen.
