Riswadi bin Azmi PhD He is a Senior Lecturer at the Center for Foundation and Continuing Education (PPAL) and is currently the Director of the Sultan Mahmud Islamic Center at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. He is also a member of the Islamic Manuscript Association, TIMA. His research interest includes the history and exploration of Quran manuscripts. He has toured eight countries involving 21 collection sites and has viewed more than 95 Quran manuscripts. He has won several awards including Special Award, Platinum Award, twelve gold medals and four silver medals for his research innovations.

Copying this manuscript requires precision in various aspects, especially in the aspect of writing because it is a scripture that needs to be preserved. Since at that time there was no evidence to say that there was a body that checked the accuracy of the writing method, then a study on the aspect of the fawāṣil is very necessary to do. This study focuses on the Terengganu Quran manuscript IAMM 2012.13.6 which is a collection at the Islamic Art Museum Malaysia. The objective of this study is to look at the aspect of fawāṣil which is one of the important aspects in the writing of the Quran. The effort to copy this sacred words was also done by the caliph al-Rashidin, especially Sayidina Uthman al’Affan until through various improvement processes to ensure that Muslims can use this scripture more easily and in accordance with the latest approach. There are a number of great Islamic empire has made an effort to copy the manuscripts of the Qur’an and this is also true in the Malay world. The Sultanate of Terengganu is recorded among the 11 Islamic sultans that have carried out this copying effort since the 18th century AD. The writing activity or the so-called copying is carried out on the basis of honor to the kalam Allāh. Thus, the preliminary study is conducted on a Turkish Quran manuscript written by Hasan Husni. The manuscript is a collection of Yayasan Warisan Johor (YWJ), Johor Bahru.
