In this context, religious tolerance is not only mutual respect for differences in beliefs, but also understands and respects the right of each individual to practice his religion freely and peacefully. However, the implementation of religious tolerance in Indonesia faces a number of challenges, such as fanaticism, radicalism, discrimination and the spread of hoaxes that can threaten social harmony. Factors that influence religious tolerance include cultural-theological, institutional, and psychological aspects, which suggest that tolerance is the result of the interaction of various elements in society, religion, and state policy. Education tolerance, interreligious dialogue, and positive media are concrete steps in implementing religious tolerance. Early education is important to instill values of mutual respect, while interfaith dialogue allows people to understand each other's views and beliefs. Social media can be an effective means of spreading tolerance messages, provided they are used wisely. In addition, the role of the government in creating policies that support harmony among religious people is also crucial. The government must be neutral and fair, and provide space for every religion to develop and dialogue. In an Islamic perspective, the teachings of tolerance exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) can be an example for Muslims to promote mutual respect and understand differences. With joint efforts through education, dialogue, fair enforcement and inclusive policies, Indonesia can create harmonious religious life, strengthen the unity of the nation, and avoid potential interreligious conflicts. Religious tolerance is the key to building a more peaceful and prosperous Indonesia.
