By examining the archives of the National Archaeological Museum and as a result of several surveys it has been possible to recognize 37 sites characterized by residential function. These sites can be framed in three different patterns. The first one is related to a residential settlement that is conforming to the criteria mentioned in ancient sources: vicinitas urbis, salubritas and amoenitas. The second one refers to expanded living quarters, at the outer edges of the city, organized according to a plan that recalls the conditions of the urban planning. Finally, the third pattern is represented by isolated buildings, away from the town and related to the exploitation of the suburban countryside.
