In this literary study, analysis is carried out in light of Ngugi's A Grain of Wheat. Particular interest is directed to heroism as a recurrent theme in most of the colonial African Literature. The study seeks to demonstrate the power of fiction to express verisimilitude. The author explores the didactic theory of literature which posits that a literary work is a source of knowledge, insights and wisdom and probably prophecy. When one accepts the call-by himself or by other forces-to die for others, to sacrifice for others' survival, that is heroism and unequalled human value.

The researchers want to equip Rwandan teachers and students with the material to be used in literature lessons as most of literature in that context are written in foreign languages. The researchers throw light on the translation of Mariama Ba‘s So Long a Letter from English – originally known as a West Germanic language; into Kinyarwanda, a Bantu language. The paper is geared by the belief that some prose writings which should benefit a wider African audience are greatly affected by a number of factors including language barrier as many Africans do not have any knowledge of these foreign languages. As a rich and complex language, Kinyarwanda is often times affected by foreign languages English included. Translating a novel into Kinyarwanda from English is thus challenging as the two languages are too distant. It was found that Challenges encountered throughout the translation of the novel “So long a letter” from English into Kinyarwanda were mainly related to the translation of unknown ideas, genitive constructions known as "of phases", figures of speech such as metaphors, similes, gender markers , proper names , active and passive constructions , proverbs and proverbial phrases. Authors of literature convey various messages depending on their goals for each. Their expression of feelings, emotions and thought about human lives intends to teach society about society. In this descriptive essay as anchored on thematic analysis of Nelson Mandela’s autobiography “Long Walk to Freedom”, the author’s intent was to explore how one’ life challenges are not only a historical experience for him/herself but also a didactic tool to readers and contemporary society as well. Discussion in this paper demonstrated how well the message conveyed in non – fictional prose plays a significant role as they teach history, social and cultural values, commitment, patience and perseverance. The study reveals that sometimes a success of the present time springs from a painful but enduring past. The study involved Cusoe Joe's Taxonomy of Specific Cooperativelearning Structure which can be applied in different contexts for distinctive purposes. Four research questions guided this study such as (1) How are students interested in group assignments? (2) To what extent do group works in Literature in English engage learners (3) what are the challenges that impede effective group works and (4) how can these challenges be addressed? The researchers used both qualitative and quatitative analysis of data generated from 58 respondents selected basing on Morgan and Krejcie's sample size determination. Analysis of findings revealed that majority of students are very much interested in group assignments in Literature in English because they enhance communication skills through interaction. However, factors such as mixed combinations coupled with fear of practice and little English communication skills militate against the effective collaborative works. It was recommended that the twio parts concerned with the teaching and learning play their parts each to grapple with these challenges.

Oral literary forms reflect unusual use of language at both literary and semantic levels. In this paper, the researcher looks into language of folkloric verbal expression by exploring sense relations and literary devices in selected proverbs and riddles. The study is geared by two theories such as Expressive Critical Approach and Literary Analysis as a Scientific Method. Discussion demonstrates that both types of oral tradition embody essential lexico - semantic and literary aspects taken as a pool from which language learners can draw to enhance not only language proficiency but also figures of speech. Both proverbs and riddles reflect the use of foregrounded language. They are effective means to nurture language understanding and its use in human day to day communication.

The researchers explore Chinua Achebe’s genius narrative techniques as reflected in his two novels. The study gyrates round two fictional elements of literature viz didacticism and foil technique with particular interest in Things Fall Apart and A Man of the People. Literary analysis of the two novels was carried out in light of main literary elements such as literary devices, characters and themes. Foil characters and themes affecting them for each were thoroughly examined to compare and contrast them. Discussion revealed that through foil technique, authors of prose fictional works deftly demonstrate that literature gives readers not only a room to understand human strengths and weaknesses but also how to live with others morally and ethically. Findings highlight all in all that fiction nurtures human intra and inter communal or social values on a par with human virtues against vices in all the time.

The Hamiltonian density nonpositive extrema would classically forbid both spatially closed and flat homogeneous and isotropic worlds if these were to allow the physical field to (repeatedly) go through and to (finally) settle down in a ground state. In this respect, the fixed point exact solutions of the spontaneous Z 2 −symmetry breaking Einstein-Gordon equations (mandatory) describe (k = −1)−FRW manifolds which actually are either Milne or anti-de Sitter Universes. Setting the Z 2 −invariance breaking scale at the one of the electroweak symmetry, we speculate on the cosmological implications of the Higgs-anti-de Sitter bubbles and derive a set of particular closed-form solutions to the S 2 −cobordism with a spatially-flat FRW Universe.

In this study, the researchers wanted to identify the opportunities and challenges available in the ICT integration with particular interest in educational curriculum at the University of Rwanda-College of Education. Framed on Constructive theory, the study is not only descriptive but also quantitative as it includes some quantifiable information. Using Yamane's table of sample determination; 150 respondents were selected from 1984 people. Questionnaire, observation and focused discussions were used as research instruments. Results disclosed a range of ICT opportunities such as computer laboratories, loudspeakers and microphones, internet, projectors and personal mobile phones among others. As to how those resources are used profitably; findings revealed the provision of online assignments; urging students to use social networks responsibly especially for academic purposes, using personal computers, projectors, audio equipment and internet sharing in their daily practices of teacher-education journey. The identified challenges affecting effective integration of ICT in education include insufficiency of computers, limited skills of using ICT resources; slow network; big class size and for lecturers' overload, among others. Findings also revealed that there is a need for provision of enough computers to students; increase of connectivity and other ICT infrastructure; reduction of lecturers' workload and number of students in one classroom; train people in ICT usage and design a dual-mode policy to allow students and lecturers to use it as an accepted way of learning paired with the normal face to face method.

This paper explores the synergic alliance between the authors’ choice of methods or literary devices to reveal the audience how characters and themes affecting them cannot be disconnected. The study hinges on a qualitative document analysis involving Ngugi’s novel A Grain of Wheat. Discussion was guided by three study questions concerning the place that narrative techniques hold among the fictional generic elements; the use of dramatic irony in A Grain of Wheat; and what can be learnt from that situation. Analysis revealed that dramatic irony is used in that novel to show the reader that people could be cautious to decide on heroes and traitors before the story conflict resolution. It was also confirmed that the interface between elements of literature cannot be doubted.

This study consists of literary criticism in Eat African poetry with particular interest in Okot p’Bitek’s Song of Lawino under feminist approach. The study has explored the theme of oppression, women right violation specifically because of human nature of weaknesses coupled with wickedness geared by ignorance for selfdestruction in favour of the outsider, modernity being at the heart of the problem. It has been found that Lawino’s husband, Ocol, over-civilised until he now rejected his tradition. Clementine won totally Ocol to the detriment of Lawino, a traditional woman, whose accusations to the clansmen is revealing the role of the clan in the settlement of the house conflict in African tradition. The study showed how human society is paved with temptations and traps coupled with attractions that may lead to family destruction by the outsiders depicted in the image of Clementine as a modern beautiful wife. Since Feminist theory posits that women should be free from menthe oppressors, that women can become what they want if given their right, this paper ranges among the foundation laid for human rights respect for the sake of the oppressed among different societies. Keywords— Literature, tradition, human society, characters, mirror, liberal feminism, modernity, conservatism, women oppression.
