The development of new models has the potential to improve the effectiveness of learning and teaching processes. In teaching Turkish as a foreign language, the model development studies are less focused. The application of models helps the teaching of learning objectives in many ways. Therefore, the study's aim is to explore the Idea Workshop model's (IWM) effect on the attitudes of LTFL. The participants were C1 level foreign students in Yıldız TÖMER (experimental group, n= 12) and AİBÜ TÖMER (control group, n= 14) in June 2018. The data was collected in the same period. The participants' attitudes towards LTFL were analyzed by using the quasi-experimental method with pre-test and post-test scores. Additionally, qualitative data was acquired using a semi-structured interview form in order to better understand the model's other probable impacts as the process progressed. The findings show that students in the experimental group improved their scores significantly over the activities of the model. Additionally, the effect size results show that the Idea Workshop Model (DAM) has a greater effect on the attitude toward learning Turkish as a foreign language. Besides, the qualitative evidence indicates that the model helps in the development of language, communication, and critical thinking abilities. In conclusion, the Idea Workshop model is a beneficial and relevant tool for improving the LTFL process. * Araştırma verileri 2018 Haziran ayı içinde toplanmıştır.
