Fuchsia Dunlop's narrative is peppered with vivid descriptions and linguistic nuances that serve not only to convey information but also to evoke sensory experiences and emotional responses. As syntactic iconicity is a significant source of psychological and aesthetic effects in textualization, it can be seen as both a pivotal point of observation and a method of measurement in the translation of stylistically sensitive literary works. This paper aims to find out whether AI translation models are able to discern the phenomenon of syntactic iconicity, and accordingly retain this linguistic mechanism observed in the source texts so as to render stylistically sensitive translation.

The usage of Arabic sexual terms in the Lebanese dialect is a significant contributor to the perpetuation of gender discrimination specifically, against women and the LGBTQ+ community. The paper explores how language perpetuates harmful gender stereotypes and reinforces discrimination against women and LGBTQ+ individuals through a review of relevant literature. Furthermore, the intersectionality of gender, sexuality, and language is discussed, highlighting the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals in navigating gendered language. A quantitative analysis of the attitude towards sexist language and the frequency of the usage of sexual terms in both formal and informal settings is also conducted within the data population. According to the study conducted, the use of sexual terms has a significant correlation with discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation towards women and the LGBTQ+ community. These terms reinforce negative stereotypes and societal norms that further the prevalence of gender inequality and discriminatory practices. There is an urgent need for efforts to promote inclusive language and encourage the use of the right sexual terminology to achieve less verbal gender discrimination in Lebanon.

The Oromo have a rich cultural heritage that emphasizes the importance of collective decision-making, social accountability, and human rights. The Oromo reconciliation process is an example of a community-based conflict resolution mechanism that prioritizes restorative justice and healing relationships between individuals and communities. However, the process faces several challenges, including a lack of formal recognition and support from the Ethiopian government and judiciary. This essay argues that the pursuit of reconciliation requires a long-term, multifaceted approach that addresses the underlying causes of conflict and promotes social and economic justice. Drawing on the principles of Oromumma and restorative justice, alternative conflict resolution mechanisms can be developed that are effective, legitimate, and sustainable. The pursuit of reconciliation for the Oromo people requires a deep understanding of their cultural heritage and values, as well as a commitment to a long-term, multifaceted approach that addresses the underlying causes of conflict and promotes social and economic justice.

River Teesta has a prodigious significance on the riverine dweller and its changing precarious behavior has repercussions on the lives of millions. Utilizing satellite images and 41 years of temporal analysis, the mapping of channel extraction and channel shifting has been demonstrated. Delineating the exact channel boundary is a laborious operation, but MNDWI technique is really valuable in this situation to produce valuable results. Descriptive statistics are used to analyze the Teesta River's active flow line migration trend and channel migration behavior. A particular river's oscillating character over time has both beneficial and detrimental power, destroying important resources for environmental sustainability and human society while also providing fertile mother earth as a source of wealth. As a result, another goal of the current study was to determine how vulnerable riverine residents were. A Livelihood Vulnerability Index (LVI) based on the riverine inhab-itants' exposure, sensitivity, and capacity for adaptation was created. According to the findings, the river's erratic behavior is putting the people who live beside it in danger. Therefore, it is vitally necessary to implement a capable management strategy to stop bank failure at the Teesta-Dharala confluence in order to save the riverine residents.

The Ministry of Education has issued several guidelines to facilitate the integration of PBL in primary, secondary, and higher education institutions. Based on John Dewey's pragmatic philosophy, PBL encourages students to actively engage in collaborative learning, problem-solving, and real-world applications, fostering critical thinking and innovation. Compared to traditional classroom teaching, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) places learning in context, providing students with opportunities to apply acquired knowledge and skills. Consequently, PBL is deemed an effective approach for enhancing students' overall literacy, academic achievements, and self-guided learning abilities, which prepares them for future careers. Nonetheless, PBL poses challenges. Investigating the localisation of PBL in the Chinese educational context holds significant theoretical and practical value for advancing educational modernization in the new era. The current educational environment confronts numerous challenges in implementing reforms and fostering innovation. Utilizing CiteSpace, the research findings indicate that PBL has emerged as a focal point in educational research, gaining considerable attention both nationally and internationally. Its research domains are diverse, reflecting the multifaceted nature of PBL. In the national setting, research on PBL has made significant advancements, yet clear boundaries remain. Subsequently, forthcoming research in China might delve into the amalgamation of teacher education, multidimensional assessment of student abilities, and the broadening of PBL into broader subject areas.

To understand the situation of suicide mortality the present study focuses on gender-based suicide mortality in BRICS countries from 2005 to 2019. The paper tries to assess the extent of suicide mortality in general and gender-specific suicide mortality in particular in all the five countries of BRICS. It explores the reasons for high male suicide mortality in Russia and South Africa. It also looks at the reasons for the recent increase in female suicide mortality in India and decreasing female suicide mortality in the Russian Federation. The paper tries to understand the reasons for reduced male suicide mortality in China. It analyses three areas such as sectoral employment, urban population and self-employment to examine whether suicide mortality has any relation to these factors in these five countries. The paper presents a vision for the generation of better employment opportunities and from narrow biomedical approaches to community-oriented psychosocial perspectives, in setting priorities for interventions and research to solve the problems related to mental health disorder which leads to suicide-based mortality. It will focus on the implementation of WHO guidance, and deployment of digital platforms, to address mental health issues to reduce the incidences of suicidal mortality. The paper examines the SDG’s impact from the perspective that it tries to look at SDG’s goal 3 in the context of BRICS countries and draws the attention of the policymakers, scholars, and academia toward the serious issue of suicide mortality.

The value attached to land is so strong to extent that everyone wants to own land. The appetite for land has resulted in uncontrolled and untenable land sub-divisions in most parts of Kenya a phenomenon that is currently driving most households into a state of food insecurity and misery. However, how social value attached to land is influencing land sub-division in rural areas remains scanty in the scholarly domain. This paper explores the social meaning that people in Nyamira North Sub County, Kenya attach to land and how such social meaning influences land sub-division. Based on the findings, the paper gives policy recommendations on how to slow down the practice of land sub-division to foster sustainable rural development.

However, researchers' ethical codes must not be cast-in-stone but must be context specific. This means that ethical codes must be very flexible and escape routes must be permitted for certain kinds of studies, especially in the humanities, where societal dynamics and demand may necessitate the by-passing of certain ethical codes. While doing so, a laissez faire approach must be avoided and monitoring measures must be put in place to curtail abuse. This will allow specific studies being conducted in specific societies to proceed without the challenges created by the need to observe stringent ethical codes. The paper traces the introduction of ethics in research to various historical antecedents in order to make a case for the need for ethics in social research for instance. It is not a holistic objection of the observation of ethical codes and the establishment of ethical boards in academic institutions for instance, but the call for flexibility, balance and context-specificity.

Focusing on Abrahamic theism, with special emphasis on Christianity, I interpret the Biblical narrative as a symbolic representation of a universal normative structure grounded in social ontology and the value-commitments intrinsic to agency.

Interculturality has become an important sociological and missiological paradigm in recent years ... more Interculturality has become an important sociological and missiological paradigm in recent years as a way to rectify shortcomings in how issues pertaining to culture have been addressed by social and religious institutions. As this paradigm aims for ideals such as reciprocity, respect, appreciation and mutuality in terms of how people from different cultures engage with each other, this paper sets out to examine whether interculturality characterized by these ideals can be achieved in the contemporary digital milieu. The paper argues that the present digital age with extensive use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) can present both opportunities and challenges to promoting interculturality. The paper sets out to: (1) briefly present the concept of interculturality as understood by scholars in the Church today; (2) explore a number of opportunities and challenges to in tercultur ality in the pres ent digit al milieu ; and (3 ) propose s how interculturality can be advanced with the support of ICT. The thesis is that the work of achieving interculturality has to be actively carried out, using means of communication available in modern society. In the digital age, traditional ways of communication alone will not be effective in the face of many challenges to interculturality coming from present directions in development and use of ICT.
