Juvenile fish were acclimated at 27±2°C and exposed to copper sulphate in water with pH 5.0 and 9.0. No copper was added to controls groups in water pH 5.0, 9.0 and 7.5. The obtained results in copper-exposed group with alkaline water showed a decrease in RBC, Hct and Hb than those kept in copper-exposed group in acidic water. WBC showed an increase in copper- exposed group in acidic water than those kept in control pH 7.5. Lymphocite in copper-exposed fish in water pH 9.0 and 5.0 showed a decrease in relation to those kept in control pH 7.5. Glucose in control pH 9.0 group, decrease compared to control pH 7.5. Total Protein in control pH 9.0 and in copper-exposed fish in acidic water and alkaline water decreased compared to control pH 7.5. It was concluded that Cyprinus carpio is affected by the change of water pH and heavy metal in alkaline water which in turn affec...

Brackish water (10.52±0.43 psu) was provided from the Caspian Sea. The experiments were performed in 12 circular concrete ponds with a sandy bed (area: 78m 2) with four treatments and three replications for each treatment. The culture period was 75 days and the average water temperature was 27.4±1.79°C. The results showed that different stocking densities caused statistical significant difference in growth and survival rates among various experimental treatments (P<0.05). Increasing the stocking density resulted in decreasing the amounts of weight gain, survival rate (SR), specific growth rate (SGR) and the average daily growth (ADG). However, FCR was significantly different among treatments (P<0.05) and was not dependent on the primary stock density of postlarvae. The highest growth rate (SGR=11±0.04 and ADG=0.25±0.01 gr/day/ind.), production (43.6±3.3 kg shrimp in 78 m 2) and survival rate were observed in the lowest density treatment (45 shrimp/m 2).

The impacts of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus my kiss) cage culture on the facultative anaerobic bacteria in south of Caspian Sea. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) cage culture on the facultative anaerobic bacteria in the environment around the fish farm. This study was carried out at two fish cage culture farms on the southern coast of the Caspian Sea. In the fish farms(Klarabad and Abbasabad), the sediment samples were collected from three sides (east, west, south) and four stations on each side (distances of 5, 50, 100 and 1000 m) from 2014 to 2015 years. The samples were cultured as Pour plate method in the TSA medium. Results showed that the distance from the cage and different geographical directions in each fish cage culture (in each sampling period) did not differ significantly (P<0.05). Also, at different sampling periods in each fish cage culture, there was significant difference only in August compared to other periods (P<0.05). But in comparison to the mean of facultative anaerobic bacteria in the sediment around the fish cage culture, there was a significant difference between the two sites Klarabad(2.2×10 6 cfu/ml) and Abbasabad(2.4×10 5) except March (P<0.05). It is concluded that a significant increase in facultative anaerobic bacterial populations in August could be one of the reasons for a significant decrease in total organic matter in August compared to other months. It seems that the activity of breeding rainbow trout in cages in Abbasabad and Klarabad regions had a relatively small effect on bacterial factors and this regions is suitable of aquaculture.

Marjani, southeastern part of the Caspian Sea, Iran. Juveniles were raised for 18 months to sizes ranging between 1,500 g and 2,100 g (mean weight 1,850 g +/- 129, n = 60; total length range = 60.4 to 71.6 cm (mean 66.1 +/- 2.58, n = 60). Fish were raised in circular fiberglass ponds. After a growing period of over one year, experimentals may have been unintentionally exposed to contaminated feed and were subsequently fed with the presumed infected feed batch for fifteen days. Some changes in swimming behavior, feed uptake, and an overall weakness were observed in the test series similar to what has been identified in the cultured fish. Clinical investigations included hemorrhagy in the head, abdominal placoids and curvature of spinal column as well as yellow spots in the pectoral areas. Therefore, a clinical study was initiated and the aflatoxicosis syndrome was recognized by clinical observations when fish were exposed to contaminated food. Aflatoxicosis caused 8.6 percent mortality, while during a period of 40 days the fish lost 7 percent of weight (AGR = -3.2). Huso huso regained weight after 75 days when feeding the fish with an uncontaminated commercial feed.

The fishes are directly transferred to EW and SW. The possible repercussions of osmoregulatory processes on some indicators of classical were examined in end of acclimation after a period of 7days. Mortality was only observed (higher than 50% after 72 hours) in the group of (I) in EW and SW. Haematological parameters (haematocrit; Hct, red and white blood cells count; RBC, WBC, mean cell volume; MCV and haemoglobin concentration; Hb, mean cell haemoglobin concentration; MCHC and the amount of haemoglobin per erythrocyte; MCH) and levels of cortisol, osmolarity and ion concentration (Na + , K + , Ca +2 and Mg +2) in the plasma were determined. This survey were fulfilled in 6 transects and 26 stations A total of 260 samples were collected during winter to autumn in the southern part of Caspian Sea. Totally, 163 species of phytoplankton were identified (71 species Bacillariophyta, 31 species Chlorophyta,

The salinity tolerance, hematological and hydromineral regulation capabilities of juvenile Russia... more The salinity tolerance, hematological and hydromineral regulation capabilities of juvenile Russian sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstaedtii) were investigated in different ages and sizes in freshwater (FW: <0.5‰), estuary water (EW: 9.5‰) and Caspian Sea water (C S W: 12.5‰). The fish were directly transferred from FW to EW and C S W. The possible repercussions of ion-osmoregulatory processes on some classical indicators were examined at the end of 168 hours fish salinity tolerance. The mortality was not more than 35% in EW and C S W in both groups. The survival percent and salinity tolerance were increased with increment of age and size of fish. The functional mechanism of osmotic and ionic homeostasis were similar in all groups (p>0.05) but differed in experimental media (p<0.05). Significant differences were observed between the levels of plasma ion concentrations in different media (p<0.01). Plasma Na +

The selected farms were located in Haraz, Dohezar and Sehezar regions of Tonekabon, Sari and Chalous. The results showed that farm production have increased from 75.3 tons in 2006 to 106.4 tons in 2008. However, no changes were seen in acreage and consumed water volumes which in 90% were obtain from rivers. We have observed an increase in the incidence of disease as 56% in 2006, 71% in 2007 and 85% in 2008, respectively. The most important infectious diseases were reported Streptococcosis that incidence percent were 53%, 72% and 83%, respectively from 2006 to 2008. The results of treatment and disinfection activities have been shown an increase from 2006 to 2007 (respectively, 34.7%, 71.4% and 75%). Antibiotics were the most important drug in selected farms during survey times and their consumption was increased year to year (18.8% in 2006, 3...
