Hambo birthday

When I saw todays sketch and the small sq panel I thought about Hambo stamps. Their stamps crack me up and I knew one of their small images would be perfect for the sq panel. I needed a birthday card so I used this rabbit, carrot sentiment, and carrot image. I colored the rabbit and carrot using copics and added cotton candy stickles to his paw, nose and ears. I also added frosted lace stickles to his tummy and tail so hes sparkling all over!LOL! I stamped the carrot image tone on tone on the pumpkin pie layer then stamped part of the sentiment in black. For my embellishments I used coral brads and striped pumpkin pie ribbon. After I finished putting all my layers together the creamy caramel strip seemed to need something so I added some faux stitching and I think the black is too much I prolly shoulda used creamy caramel instead! Next time I'll just leave it alone!LOL!
Today is the last day of school this week so we will be on Easter break until Tuesday. I might have hair left we'll just have to wait and see!LOL! J/K!!

Seal case

Todays featured stamper is Kim aka Blondie090277. She has a wonderful gallery! I cased her Sammy the seal card. I loved her background shading and TRIED it on my card. Yeah I think I'll just leave it to Kim!LOL!
I pulled the colors from the Paper studio dp I used. I used a real red 4 1/4" sq card base and bazzil yellow to mat the dp. I punched out the scallop circle in tempting turquiose and used fiskars circles for my main image. I colored the ground with copic marker e33 sand and prismacolor canary yellow for the highlight around the seal. The hambo seal is colored with prismacolor marker cool grey 40%. I love this adorable seal and when I saw Kim's seal card I knew I had to case it using my hambo seal! I dont have the stand stamp that goes with the seal so I used Kims idea to use a punch for the ball. I punched the ball with a 1 1/4" circle and drew lines using another circle edge. I colored the ball with prismacolor markers canary yellow and crimson red. I popped up seal on top of the ball. Now I wasnt really thing when I did this b/c the seal is over the awning but oh well!LOL! For the awning I used my Martha stewart border punch with textured wild wasabi. The awning, the seal, and the turquiose scallop are all popped up. This was a fun card to make and I will probably add a bday sentiment to it for one of the kids classmates. Have a great day!

Times fun when its sfytt

Sorry this post is so late but we've been in the pool again today. Mama even came over so we had a blast at least until Brayden went head first off the ladder and I was trying to get to him and my foot slipped off the ladder and went through it! So he has a bruise on his pelvis and I have one on my shin.

I made this card for todays featured stamper challenge. Todays stamper is Michelle aka Shellapoo. I was inspired by her frockling frogs card but I decided to use my neglected Hambo frog. I love this image! Hes sooo cute and the sentiment cracks me up!LOL! I used Jens sfytt for my layout. I pulled out my wintergreen dp from last Christmas. I love using this for frog images b/c of the colors. I dont think I made but one or two holiday cards with this dp everything else has been frog or turtle images!LOL! I colored the frog using the gamsol magic technique and outlined him with a copic marker. I colored the clear dew drops with my SU arthicoke marker to match my card. I used soft sky ds ribbon and some polka dot celery ribbon I got from Michaels $1 bin.

OCC Inspiration Bandit

Since Ive been a slacker blogger the past couple of weeks I decided to do two posts today! I made this card for the OCC sketch challenge and todays inspiration challenge. I went to Mamas today to stamp which is something we havent been able to do in awhile. I brought along this super cute AC dp for the inspriation challenge since I loved the striped and polka dot bag. The dp is Monkey Bars and Hula hoops. I used her fiskars wavy border and Martha Stewart circle cutter. I had alot of trouble using the circle cutter. I did find if you cut your circle first then stamp is was easier which is backwards from what I usually do! I had to stamp another balloon and pop it up to cover where the circle messed up! Those of you who read my blog regularly might remeber my Bandit card from before. I love this adorable raccoon image from Hambo and I named him Bandit after a stuffed animal I used to have as a little girl. Madison has a raccoon too and its one of her faves and she calls her Raccy!

We just got out of the pool again today. It really stinks that we are having great weather and this is our last summer weekend! Thursday its back to school and back to work! Yuck!!

Dont get carried away

I dont have anything new I created to share with you today so I thought Id show you a card I made for my Dad for Fathers Day. I love this tow truck image from Hambo! This looks alot like my Dads tow truck when I was about 5 yrs old. Im a complete Daddys girl and I always loved going with Daddy in the truck! He loved this card!
The main image is stamped with black stazon and colored with prismacolor pencils and blended wit gamsol. I added crystal effects to the windows and headlights. I used my prismacolor black marker to make the lines for the road. I also added silver brads to the center of the tires. The main image is also popped up on dimensionals. The going gray layer is stamped with linen in black it kinda reminds me of a road texture or tires I really cant figure out which one but either way it works for this card!LOL! This is one of the cards I kept messing with and ended up almost messing it up! I added corner piercing and tried to use the black marker but that didnt show up too well so I went back over it with the white gel pen. I also added piercing to the ruby red base on both sides of the image.

We're off today heading to FL for Faiths stamping retreat! Hope you have a great day!

Hambo ATC swap

I signed up for a Hambo ATC on Taylors blog. I still had the skunk out yesterday and decided to go ahead and make my ATC cards. I love doing ATC's! I used a non SU textured burgundy base (3 1/2 x 2 1/2)and layered with regal rose and paper studio dp. The skunk is colored with SU markers and has stickles on this tail and hair. The skunk is layered w/the ruby red and burgundy. For embellishments I used black grosgrain ribbon from Taylors share and silver brads. Have a great weekend!

"phew" and far between

I've got another combo challenge card for you today. I love Beates weekend sketch challenge and I havent been able to do one in the last few weeks so I was determined to do it this weekend. Her layout was perfect for todays follow the list limited supply challenge. The challenge was to use only one background, one sentiment, and an animal stamp. You could use any coloring tools and quick tools like punches. No embelisments! I used my giga scallop punch, fiskars circles, and my corner punch.

I used my Hambo skunk (aint he cute!) and colored the flowers w/my Su markers. I layered him on brocade blue (cut w/fiskars) and old olive (scallop punch). I pierced the scallops and added stickles to the white parts of the skunk. I figured he had to have something going for him so why not a little sparkle to cover up the smell!LOL!
I used bashful blue strip since we couldnt use ribbon. The inside has the sentiment that goes with the skunk: Friends like you are "phew" and far between.

Have a great weekend. We are Calico bound this weekend!

Best in the field

Yes I finally made a card on the day of the challenge! Can you believe it?!!? I actually have a challenge combo card! Yaaaayyy for me!LOL!

This past weekend my MIL had a shirt that had a pic of a scarecrow with "Best in the field" on wooden sign and I thought it was the cutest! So of course I took the idea and put it on a card. The card layout is called the Z fold and is Beate's weekend sketch challenge #25. The bayou base is stamped w/flannel plaid tone on tone. The main image is a cracked glass image which is todays technique challenge. I colored the Hambo scarecrow w/my prismacolor pencils before embossing w/UTEE for the cracked glass. I had to use my wasabi new ribbon so I used the color combo: blue bayou, choc chip, wild wasabi, ruby red, and river rock. I also added in pumpkin pie for the pumpkins. I printed the sentiment out on my computer and used the large oval punch and dimensionals. The button keeps the card closed. River rock photo corner is quickutz.

I was having a good day until I realized what today was and it was like I hit a brick wall. We lost my Granny Hickey 18 years ago today to cancer. Her funeral was actually on Halloween day so for a long time it was too hard to enjoy the day it just didnt seem right. Those of you who read my blog regulary will probably remeber the card I posted sent to me by Cindy (mothermark) with the three little fishies song my Granny used to sing to me. I L'dOL a few times today remebering things about her! Okay yall all know how I love to tell stories so here's another one. My Granny moved in with us a few weeks before she passed away and I had a friend name Julie and her nick name was Poofy (b/c she had her hair cut like one of the guys from New Kids on the block I think his name was Danny). Dont ask!LOL! It was a dare LOL! Anywho...Granny always called her Poopy she could never get her name right! Rest in peace Granny you will be loved forever!

Carrots Your Birthday

Okay so Im starting to feel more like a human being today!LOL! This was my card from yesterdays sketch challenge. I wasnt exactly thrilled w/how it turned out but I didnt feel like messing w/it too much. I have a much better version of the sketch I will post tommorrow!

Sometime during the past few days I hit 5,000 on my counter. YAHOO! Thank you all for visiting! I will post some blog candy the first of next week!

Okay on to the card...I used my American crafts dp I love to use for card bases since it has a coordinating solid color on the reverse side. The yellow panel layered w/pumpkin pie is actually the color on the reverse side of this paper. I stamped the sentiment on the yellow panel with black stazon and the strip is old olive with a silver brad. The rabbit and carrot are colored w/SU markers and layered on creamy caramel and bb. On the rabbits tummy, tail, ears and paws I used Tulip puffy paint in Diamond. I got mine at Walmart and I love the dimension it gives! The carrot is popped up on dimensionals. The inside of the card has the rest of the sentiment (A whole bunch) with several carrots stamped in the corner. I love the sentiment and rabbit! Too cute!! The rabbit, carrot, and senitment images are from Hambo stamps.

Times Fun

I got some goodies in the mail today! YAAY! I got this super cute image and sentiment from Hambo today. I wasnt thrilled w/the Ways to use it challenge today so I decided to do Beate wsc that I missed from this past weekend. I colored the frog w/ my SU markers and cut the image out w/my Fiskars circle and layered it w/old olive. PP I used is polka dots and paisley I love this striped paper design. I stamped the sentiment in old olive on WW and matted on old olive. There are 4 silver brads in each corner of the pp. The ribbon I used is cool carribean from Taylors share. The circle image is up on dimensionals. Hambo has some great images but what I love is they usually have two or three sentiments to go w/the image so you get more use of out the image! Stayed tuned for more hambo this week.

Okay funny story to share....the girls go to cheerleading 2 nights a week and they are there for an hour. My friend Tracy's little girls goes too so instead of just sitting there talking like we usually do we decided to start working out in the cardio fitness room. Danny came to get Brayden today and wanted to play around w/the machines. The last thing he got on was the treadmill. I put it up to 3.6 speed and he was walking-well..I looked out the window and saw the girls coming and pushed stop. The next thing I know I hear something and turn around and all I see is a white shirt flying. I was so funny I laughed for like an hour afterwards. Do you remeber the Jetsons where George is going to walk Astro on the dogwalker and it takes him and hes stuck it in going around and around. Well thats all I could think of!!! Danny said he saw me hit the stop button so he stopped walking well the treadmill goes for a little bit to slow down so when he stopped walking the thing basically threw him off and he landed on his hands and popped his self right back up. It was one of those things where you had to be there. I wish I would have had a camera!

sc141 Tanking of you

I got to do a challenge today!YYYAAAAY! Todays sketch challenge was a little different but I like the end result. I used some stamps I borrowed from Mama Monday and some cool ribbon I stole from her.LOL! After I raved about Hambo stamps she decided to place an order and got this super cute tank and sentiment. I colored the tank with limepeel, black, and olive green prismacolor pencis and blended w/gamsol and stumps. I also outlined the bottom of the image w/French gray 20% to make the image pop a little. I layered the tank image (2" sq.) on garden green and basic black w/a 1/8" matt and added dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment in black on garden green and layered on bb w/1/4" matt. I didnt want to put alot of embellishments on the card so I put two black brads at the top the of the garden green layer. My card base is old olive.

Now I have to back up a few days and fill you in on this weekend. The kids went to the Dr. Friday for check-ups. brayden got 5 shots and was not happy. Madison got 1 shot and has to an eye doctor b/c she failed her vision screen. Contrary to popular belief my kids hearing is fine. LOL! You wouldnt think that being around them for 5 minutes though! Saturday morning was the pepper festival and parade and we spent the day there walking around and playing. Saturday was the concert and laser show and we had a blast!! My oldest child Alana has no rhythm bless her heart! There was an area in front of the stage for dancing and Danny doesnt dance and I love to dance I took Brayden up there for a slow dance and then the girls wanted to go up there too. I took Madison up there and after she got in the crowd of people and realized the music was loud she started screaming wanting to go back. She does not like loud noises well let me rephrase that she doesnt like NOT being the one making the loud noises!LOL! I took Madison back and got Alana and my friend and her daughter went w/us. The band was on break so they were playing dance songs like electric slide, lean w/it, etc. By the time we got up to the stage electric slide was over and they were playing lean w/it so me and Tracy were trying to show Keegan and Alana how to lean w/it pop w/it. They were so funny!!Alana's feet were glued to the cement!! She would only move her body from the hips up I got so tickled at her. It was the kids first concert and they throughly enjoyed it! While the band was playing they were all sitting in a row in front of us clapping and laughing too bad it was dark and I couldnt get a good pic!

Silly Bird

Dont you just love this!??!! Hambo stamps are so cute and they make me laugh. This is a card I made for the sketch challenge this week. Ive been without a camera for the past two days so I thought I would share this with you today.

The card base is Paper studio chocolate weave textured cs. The dp is American craft and is matted on summer sun. The ribbon is from Joanns I think the name of it is chartruese. I colored the silly bird with prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. The bird is matted on the reverse side of the dp and then summer sun. Both the bird and sentiment are stamped in Stazon timber brown. The sentiment is layered on pumpkin pie with two silver brads. I used my corner rounder to punch scallops at the bottom of the card base although its hard to see in the photo. I used the scallops on the bottom of the card base to match the dp. I love how this card turned out!

Tommorrow is the Pepper festival here in Omega which is only one block from my house. My kids are so excited they love going to things like that! Today we have Dr. appointments--fun, fun, fun. Brayden has to get 5 shots! OUCH!!! Have a great day!
