Time to write thank you notes for all those wonderful Christmas gifts we received! I used more of the gift wrap pieces I scavenged from opening presents to make some simple thank you cards. I really love this teal snowflake gift wrap. As you can see, I am still trying to use up my 7-pointed foam snowflakes! Ha.
Here's a set from a different gift wrap piece. I added a bit of ribbon to these.
Supplies used include: Winnie &Walter - In a Word: Thanks Cutaway die - retired Scraps of Gift Wrap Scraps of solid cardstock Dollar Store foam snowflakes Ribbon from stash
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you are enjoying a quiet week after the excitement of Christmas. I love having some down time to craft. Stay safe and healthy!!
I feel like I have been underwater for so long I almost forgot how to get crafty and make a blog post!! But after Christmas I always have a surge of crafty motivation.....so heeeeeeeere I am with my first Christmas card for the 2021 season!!! YAY!!!
Do you ever wish you could make use of some of that pretty wrapping paper tossed aside after gifts are opened? At my house, it usually just gets burned after the festivities, but I always try to save some to make a few backgrounds for Christmas cards. That's what I did for the card I am sharing today.
I chose some rich red and gold tissue salvaged from the trash pile and decoupaged it onto some scrap card stock. The decoupage medium gives a subtle texture from the foam brush strokes and stabilizes the paper so it doesn't tear. I added a beautiful die cut made from scraps on a dry embossed background for added texture. Some gleaming gold photo corners give a tailored and elegant finish to complete the card.
Supplies used include: Creative Expressions - Festive Collection Joy 2 pc die set (retired) Darice - Honeycomb embossing folder (retired) Royal Coat - Satin Finish Decoupage Medium Scrapbook Adhesives - Photo Corners in gold Scraps of tissue gift wrap Scraps of solid cardstock from stash Distress Ink - Walnut Stain for edges of tissue panel Fun Foam from Dollar Store for under the embossed panel
Hope you liked my card. I made three of them just alike to get me going on my Christmas stash for 2021!! Ho ho ho!!
Thank you for stopping by today. Have a restful time between the holidays this week.
As you might have noticed, my blog has been neglected since the Cat Hop. Busy, busy, busy!! I still owe several of you emails....thank you for letting me know your prizes have arrived!!
I certainly can't let the last Rudolph Days of 2020 slip past without a card, though! So here is one of my favorite images that I had watercolored some time ago and just now made into a card. Love the mousey slippers for the sweet kitty!!
Supplies used include: All Night Media - For Santa (long retired) Distress Inks for watercoloring Winnie & Walter - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways die set Gold ribbon and sequins from stash
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am still eating pie!! YUM!! Have a lovely day!!
Yes, the post you and your cats have been waiting for is FINALLY here!!!! YAY!!! Thank you for your patience as I finished hopping and commenting. I visited every single project and loved them all!!! It is an honor and privilege for me to be able to leave personal comments on each entry. I never want our Cat Lovers Hops to get so big that I can't do that. (I am selfish that way..... lol...) Because of everything else happening in my life right now, it took me quite a bit longer than usual to finish. I know it caused a lot of waiting on your part, but I super-appreciate you being so understanding.
Wasn't this a fantastic hop???? I deeply appreciate every single one of our lovely Hoppers and all the kind comments you have left for me about our Hop. We had 75 participants that signed in from 15 countries, including 27 first-time hoppers. WOW!!! Everyone did such a great job leaving wonderful comments and making projects. The caliber of your cards and projects was totally amazing!
And it is so cool that more and more papercrafting companies are including kitty products in their CAT-alogs for us to drool and make happy feet about. 😻😻😻 Many of those companies sponsored us this year. I am so very grateful for their support. We had 41 fabulous sponsors this year with a total of 53 prizes!! I wish I had a prize for every single person, but you have to admit that 53 prizes for 75 people is pretty impressive! THANK YOU, SPONSORS!!! 💟💟💟

WINNERS from Crimson Owl Creations 1. FITKITTY1 2. CINDY HOLMES 3. MANDY-SEA 4. ROBERTA STEVENSON 5. BECCAB3324 Bonus Winner: LESLIE!
Please send your snail mail addresses to Michele at: [email protected]. Sorry, Michele, that I forgot to put that on here when I first made this post!!
Last year I had a little FEEDBACK FORM that many of you filled out for me. It was EXTREMELY helpful to me to see what you all liked and what was working...or not working. Although I am not making a separate post for feedback this time, I still very much appreciate any comments you have on the Hop and suggestions for making it better.
I am thinking about extending the time that comments can be made more than just the one extra day. I know one additional day is apparently not enough time for ME!! lol... What do you think about that? Will that get too much in the way of the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop that comes up in November? I know a lot of you participate in that. Let me know in the comments here and anything else you might want to mention.
That wraps up the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop. I hope you have enjoyed it! THANK YOU for your very kind comments of appreciation. They mean a lot to me. The Hop is a lot of work, but I love doing it.
Soooooooooooooooooooooo ...... If I have not been committed to a mental institution in a complete state of hysteria by next year, I hope to be hosting the 2021 Cat Lovers Hop next October. As always, the Hop is scheduled for the last full week of October, so the dates will be: October 25-30, 2021. Hope to see you then, if not before!!!
Just here with a quick UPDATE ON THE CAT HOP......
I will be late with the Winners Post. I really want to visit all the projects first....and since it is my hop...(when it suits me, otherwise it is OUR hop...or even YOUR hop!! lol...) ....that's exactly what I am going to do! Bwahahaha!!
Things got really crazy here, my internet was spotty, and I was gone all day Tuesday working at the polls, today was homeschool day, and it's hard to type while holding my grandbaby!! 💞 Awwww.... Whew! I am super-exhausted. So I am going to try to relax this evening and comment as much as my internet connection will allow.
I hope to get the Winners Post up in the next few days. Thanks for your patience!
Whew....we made it!! Have you had fun this week??? I hope you have enjoyed the Hop as much as I have!
If you have made it all the way here to my Wrap-Up post, you are indeed very dedicated!! THANK YOU for your fabulous support and encouragement all through this week. I am writing this post several hours before the cut-off for projects and we have nearly 200 entries! WOW......Fabulous! I thought our entry numbers might be greatly reduced by setting the limit at 5 per person, and we are a somewhat lower, but you all exceeded my expectations!!! You are awesome!
Remember:If you manage to comment on every single entry you may link your name up in the list below.
One lucky marathon commenter will win a special prize from one of our sponsors!
(Comments close at 11:59 pm Pacific, Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020.)
NOTE: I realize that not all Hoppers have accounts at all of the various platforms where projects are posted....like FB, Flickr, IG, etc. Just make a note in the comments if you couldn't access some of them and it will not count against you.
So.....just how ARE you doing at commenting? I am waaaaaaaaay behind. This has been a crazy week in our home....aren't they all??? lol... So it is amazing I got the Hop up and launched at all. I WILL visit each of your projects, though....but it prob won't be by the end of today. I like to take my time to read each post carefully and enjoy the stories and projects. I don't want to miss a thing!!
As I was looking at my posts from past Hops, I came across something I wrote in 2016 describing how much I enjoy doing these Cat Hops. I have copied it here:
I LOVE doing this hop because we have........ The best cat stories: I can't thank each one of you enough for
your participation. I have so very much enjoyed the cat tales and
projects you have shared. I have laughed and cried along with you at
the happy and sad experiences that are necessarily a part of having and
losing beloved pets. I have not had a chance to hop around to all the
projects....it might take me a few days, but I WILL visit you!! The best people: I have been delighted to see a few
special features and giveaways on the linked up projects, too!!
THANK YOU for this special touch that makes our hop something very,
very special!! Cat lovers are some of the kindest, sweetest, and most giving
people on the planet. Everyone involved in this Hop shows that so very
well!!! The best sponsors. Oh, my!!!: And.....haven't we had just the most
generous sponsors, too???? I am deeply humbled at their continued
support and encouragement. I am just a crazy old cat lady who is a
regular alleycat-variety blogger just like many of you.....not on any
design teams ever....and these fabulous individuals at these wonderful
companies were willing to take a chance and sponsor us!!! That says
TONS about how remarkable these companies are!!! I hope you have had time to tell them
thank you! I have included links for the social media pages of the
featured sponsors on each of the daily posts to make it easy to express
your thanks.....so if you haven't sent them each a message yet, feel
free to go back to the previous pages to see where to thank them.
I still feel that way about our Hops and all you fabulous Hoppers!! Thank you so much.
Okay....so go ahead and finish up your commenting today. Link up below if you comment on every single project!!
Comments and all Daily Game link-ups (including this one for commenting on all the projects) close at 11:59 pm Pacific, Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020.
Thank you for sharing your lives and your cats with our Hop family this week. Be sure to check back in a few days when I make the Winners Post......probably Wednesday or a little later because I am working the election in our precinct on Tuesday. All the Cat Hop winner random number-crunching takes a surprising amount of time!!
Bye for now...I'm off to Hop!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DAILY GAME TIME!!!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today's Daily Game is Just For Fun....no prize. But I hope you will still play along.
DAY 6 GAME: Does your cat have any interspecies friends.....other animal buddies that are NOT cats?
I'll start.....
A number of years ago we had a sweet dog named Growler whose doghouse was on the front porch of our old house. Growl-Dog was not a huge dog, but she was plenty big and very gentle.....but she did love to run and jump and chase the cats if they ran. Too much fun for a dog to resist!!
Around that time we found a pregnant kitty hunting mice in our chicken house (on the property of our new house) and decided to bring her home. The other cats were mean to poor Andale and she really was quite persecuted by one or two of the males, in particular. Andale was not afraid of dogs and quickly discovered that she could take refuge with Growler in the doghouse or by just hanging out amidst Growler's legs and the other meanies would leave her alone. Thus began a sweet companionship between our dog and this cat. Growler was big and warm and a good bodyguard for Andale. And Growler? Well, I have no idea what Growler got from the friendship.....maybe just companionship.
As in any close relationship, however, sometimes there are little disagreements. Andale rather early assumed the dominant role in the alliance and, being a cat, could be a bit short-tempered with poor Growl-Girl. Sometimes Andale would post herself in the doorway of the doghouse and not let Growler get inside to go to bed!! Naughty kitty!! Growler had experienced the business-end of cat claws before and knew better than to shove her way inside! We would hear Growler whining and giving a little woof every so often and know she needed us to rescue her. We'd remove Andale from the doghouse and......lickety-split.....in would slip Growler. Then we'd set Andale back down and she would settle contentedly next to Growler's warm body. lol... The two of them were adorable together!!
There is no link up for today's Just-For-Fun Daily Game, but you can still join the ones from previous days. The other Daily Game link-ups will be open all day today and tomorrow. Entries need to be in by 11:55 pm Pacific, Sunday Nov. 1, 2020 to be eligible for the daily prize. Hooray for the extra hour to comment because of the time change!!
Okay, now it is your turn!!
REMEMBER: Link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. (Please use #2020CatLoversHop
Okay....now get those last projects finished and posted because TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO LINK UP PROJECTS!!! But you will still have through tomorrow to finish up your commenting.
