Psalm 91

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.  Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.  He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.  You will not fear the terror of night nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.  You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
If you make the Most High your dwelling-even the Lord, who is my refuge-then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways, they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.  You will tread upon the lion and the cobra, you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
"Becaue he loves me," says the Lord, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknwledges my name.
He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.  With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.
Prayer:
Oh dear Father, if only we could all see the love you have for us and that you are waiting and willing to rescue us, we would run to You and seek Your face.
Amen

Weekend Away and Baby Sitting

Recently my friend, Laverne and I went on a weekend getaway.  We have both been overwhelmed with everything at our homes.  She has twin grandsons that she babysits with daily.  Now that is a really tough job, but she loves every moment of it.  They are the cutest little boys.  I have been working at my job non-stop!  It seems I never have time for much of anything.  By the time I get home of the day, my energy is just gone!
So, we decided to get away for a weekend to the Smokey Mountains.  It is not far from us, and we always love to go up there.  We had a lovely time, and much great food, even a picnic by the water on the way back.
One place we discovered while there was the Bud Ogle Farm.  This farm was built in late 1800's totally by hand.  Every timber was hand hewn, every fireplace was built by him with river rock.  We were so amazed at the workmanship.  There was a barn there also, built by him.  There were huge mountain rocks there and he just built around them, leaving one big rock in the center of the barn.  We decided he used that to sit on while milking the cows.
It is so wonderful that this one farm has been preserved for us to see how they lived then.  There was no metal hardware on the doors, all the latches were hand made by him, and worked beautifully!  We took a few pictures of the features of the house.
This doorway was so small and short!  They were all like this.
This wooden door latch worked wonderfully.  There were several like this.
Below is the beamed ceiling.

This is Laverne, sitting on a rock in front of the house trying to get her camera to work.

Now, this week, I am doggie sitting and kitty sitting while one of my daughters is on a trip to Arizona for vacation.  I have Bree, my Grandog, and I also have Tinker, the mother of (previously) five babies, now just four.  One did not make it.  They don't even have their eyes open yet.  Such sweet animals.
There are 3 white kittens and one black and white one like the mother.
This is just a little bit of the things that have been going on in my life.
