I couldn't end this project without linking up with Click it Up a Notch, Naptime Momtog, and Click, Pray, Love and sharing my Top 11 photos I took of the kids in 2011.
1. Normally parents aren't allowed in the dance studio, but I needed a picture and envisioned something like this in my head, so I asked her teacher if I could come in for a few minutes and she obliged. This is the first of many shots I wouldn't have if it weren't for my 365 project.
2. It was late in the day and I still needed a photo. As were driving home from guitar lessons, I saw this beautiful light falling across a field, so I pulled over and made Randi get out so I could take a shot...and I'm so thankful I did.
3. Normally I take close ups of the kids in the tub but this doorway shot was inspired by several of my 365 friends and I love seeing the big picture instead of just the details.
4. To me, there is something so powerful about a photo taken from behind.
I can't see her face in this picture, but I know exactly what she's thinking!
5. My second attempt at a silhouette and one of my favorite shots from the year.
6. As I was watching these two play in the pool at dusk, I kept thinking I want a picture of that but it's way too dark. And then I told myself, use your skills and at least try and see what you can get, so I pushed myself and my camera to the limits and I couldn't believe what I saw when I put it up on the computer screen.
7. A random moment while walking down the pier with my 365 friend Misty.
I'd actually forgotten about this photo until I was looking through photos for my Quarterly Top 5 and found this gem lurking in the hundreds of photos I took on our summer vacation.
8. It was almost dark so I had to bump my ISO up to 6400 and then brought out every bit of light I could muster in Photoshop. Before my 365 I would've waited for better light, but then I would have missed the moment and the joy on his face when he first tried on his pirate costume.
9. Another late in the day and I need a photo shot that I just adore.
10. My 365 friend Megan has been a great source of inspiration for me when it comes to creative use of light.
11. And last but not least, probably one of my most favorite photos from the year!
And I have to throw this one in too. I didn't take it, so I'm not counting it in my top 11, but Randi took it and it's my favorite photo she took this year...and maybe one of my favorite photos ever!

So many of these have put a smile on my face earlier in the year, so thanks for sharing them again. I can't believe your 365 is finished. I know you have grown so much and have so many wonderful photos as a result of it.
These are all so lovely and fun to see again. I love the one with the spinning pink dress!
really awesome shots Kristin ~ so glad I was able to share in your year, it was great getting to you and learn about this world of photograph along with you ~ may you have the happiest of years to come
These are all really really great pictures Kristin! I love the last one.
Congrats on your 365. I have enjoyed following you and watching your year through your lens.
All the best to you and your family in 2012!
Your talent is blooming and growing and its really quite amazing. Good for you for following your interests, your heart, and a schedule! Amazing work!
I've seen many of these, but there are some earlier ones that I missed. The one of Randi w/her ballet shoes. Of course, that melts my heart. As does the twirling. I'm also in love w/the starfish photo. Such a perfect beach portrait. And that last one reminds me of the who's in whoville. Just love it!
Thanks so much for your sweet support as I begin this journey. I can only hope to be as successful as you were.
Happy New Year, Kristin!!!!!!!
What a great set of photos! I remember them all and so enjoyed taking the 365 journey with you. I was a slacker at the end for good reason, but sure missed keeping in touch with my 365 blog friends. Do you have plans for this year? I'd love to see more of your photos throughout the year. I am really enjoying a less intensive project this year. I feel more freedom and time in just doing what I want. The best to you in the New year!! Maybe we will be able to meet up at some point!
WOW I love your photos, amazing use of natural light and - I hadn't thought of the photos where you don't capture their faces as relaying SO much, but you really do capture it.
