Sky

THERE IS A NEW STAR SHINING IN THE SKY TONIGHT ...

There is an old belief that the stars shining in the night sky are the spirits of those who have died. They have shed their earthly bodies and exchanged them for bodies made of light; thousands upon thousands of our dear departed friends all promoted to glory in the night sky. There is another saying that the brightest flame burns the shortest.

My friend, you were the brightest star in my own universe. While I burn on, my flame dimmed by grief and despair at your passing, the stars are watching me. They are too far away for me to touch, just as you have gone somewhere I cannot follow until my own star-time comes. They cannot be held close for comfort, just as I can no longer hold you close, though I held you close to comfort you in your final hours. We were together for such a short time, but the stars will burn forever.

One day I will grow tired of this earthbound body, my own star-time will come and my spirit will soar into the sky to burn with all those friends who have gone before me. On the inky cloth of space we will be reunited in constellations of joy. Until then, my flame burns low and dim and cold without you. Through my tears I look upwards to see if you are watching me and what do I see?

There is a new star shining in the sky tonight.

"SKY"
WTCH. Shadowrun's Sky Blue & Black, CD, PATD-s, RTDsc
9/20/96 - 11/23/09

Yesterday we lost a dear friend who touched the lives of many during his short time with us.

He chose "us" the moment he literally fell out of his mama, Blueberry, and landed in Michael's hands.

He filled a huge void in our lives when we lost our dear Kasey all too soon.

He saved Carolyn when she was near death, waking her from an unconscious state long enough for her to call 911 and then stood guard in the corner while the paramedics tended to her.

He taught young Shelby not only how to herd sheep but also the art of patience and how to work together as a team.

He shared with me a truly magical moment tending sheep in the fog after the flock had been rattled by stray dogs.

He watched over our dear babies when we brought them home from the hospital, checking on them in their bassinets each night before laying down to sleep next to them.

He didn't have a mean bone in his body, he loved everyone and everything and was truly the kindest dog we've ever known.

He gave so much and asked for so little!

Rest in peace our dear Sky

It truly sums up the magic and beauty of our wonderful boy.

Giving Thanks

I am thankful for so many things....
my wonderful husband,
my amazing children,
my parents and brother and other family members,
my dogs (those with us now and those who have already passed),
my old friends and my new friends,
my health and the health of my family,
for living in a beautiful area,
for the simplicity of our life,
for the bounty of yummy food we had for dinner...

and for my sweet, precious angel
who headed to the couch right after she finished eating!
and for Michael's friends from Minnesota, Dave & David
who came down to go hunting with him over the weekend.
I hope you had a wonderful day and that you have
many things to be thankful for as well.

Botanical Gardens w/Ryan

A week after going to the corn maize with Randi,
I went to the Botanical Gardens with Ryan and his classmates.
Ms. Reese's class also joined us, so I don't know all of these kids names.
It was Ryan's first official field trip, and he had a great time...
he especially loved the "big bugs"!
