Quite literally, Dastarkhan is a table cloth, used as the serving space upon which families and kin feast together. Although its cultural significance goes much beyond that, it is a decorated symbol of togetherness and harmony as it holds myriad variety of dishes from various preparators in perfect coexistence. The publication exists within a matrix of my personal journey about the different places I have lived in and the various conditions that dictate the methodology of cooking practices at these locations. There are four sections each containing four stories that expose the socio-cultural narratives through biographical recollections of a narrator. The book unpacks the chefs themselves, giving us insights into different cultures through their cooking.
