Succulents on Pumpkins

 Hi FRIENDS!

I know you've

seen these

before, but today I'm sharing what I made this week.

This Saturday we will be back to selling at the Flea Market!

I wanted to make my booth look festive so I went looking for pumpkins.

I found these at Trader Joe's.

They are called TIGER PUMPKINS-

Love the fall colors and stripes!

To attach the succulents, you will need a hot glue gun.

A small amount of floral moss.

And a few cuttings from succulents in your yard

or the yard of a neighbor!

Try to find a good variety of colors and shapes.

Tip: Gardeners love to share!

I added a few springs of fresh Rosemary for the scent.

Attach moss to the top of pumpkin.

Pieces hanging down looks great and can be trimmed

when you are finished.

I'm working on three at at time.

I position my succulents like I would

 assemble a floral arrangement.

Taller in the center and work out from there.

Turning the pumpkin as you work, filling in spaces as you go.

Extra moss can be used to help

support tall cuttings.

Fill in nice and tight!

Let's be real-

I made a mess!

But they turned out great!

These will go with me to the flea market and if they don't sell

I will use them for our Thanksgiving table!

Here's a view from above-

I used similar succulents on each

of the pumpkins because I wanted a cohesive look.

Your pumpkin will last well over a month since they are not cut.

The succulents can be spray misted with water.

When you no longer want to keep your pumpkin or it starts to get soft,

Just cut through the top portion horizontally and plant the whole top in the ground

OR

You can pinch off the succulents and plant

only the cuttings.

Don't forget to save your seeds!

I want to see if I can grow Tiger pumpkins:)

Thanks for visiting with me today!

Succulents in Seashells / Some Seashell Printables

Hi Friends,

To make these tiny treasures,

all you need is one seashell

a pinch of potting mix

and a tiny succulent start

I planted these two shells a few months ago.

I didn't what to share it with you until I was sure they would live.

Just to check, look at all those roots.

I will replant this little guy so don't worry:)

These succulents in seashells are so fun to make!

That was so quick....

Can
you
hang
around
a
little
longer?

Here are some pretty postcards with seashells for you!

When I was growing up, my mom would surprise my sister and I with these

Summer Time Sand Buckets from See's Candy!

Oh YEAH, they were filled with candy.

I think it was those Carmel covered Marshmallows.

I kept my pail and the metal scoop-

I bring it out every summer but now it's filled with seashells.

Does anyone else remember these buckets?

Looking forward to summer!

I hope you are still being careful :)

A quick change for Enamelware Planter

Hello my Friends,

You know I love to stencil everything-

but here's an option if you don't want to make your

design permanent.

Use markers-

Did you know you can write and draw on glass, crockery and enamelware

with dry erase markers ?

You can also use watercolor markers.

Draw your design or message.

If you make a mistake or want to change it-

just wipe off with a wet paper towel.

Endless hours of entertainment !

Give it a try and have fun.

Thrifty Find- Enamelware Ladle

Hi Friends!

One of my favorite thrift stores

finally opened!

With restrictions and shorter hours of course.

I was able to do a quick run through.

I found this enamelware ladle, cheap and chippy.....

just the way I like it !

I was excited about about my

first purchase in months.

I  knew I wanted to plant some succulents

in the bowl.

Just fill with potting soil and a few small cuttings.

Now I am on the lookout for more.

You really can't just have one.....

I feel this is the beginning of a new collection !

Have you been out thrifting yet ?

Did you find anything you

needed to bring home ?

Spending time in my Garden - Stenciling!

Hi Friends!

Welcome to my house!

We have been on lock-down for 10 weeks and still no end in sight

I've been spending a lot of time in the garden!

While we take a little tour of the garden, I will throw in some items

that I stenciled this past week.

In the backyard my pomegranate bush is blooming.

The mexican sage grows well here.

This dustpan holds just enough soil to keep succulents happy!

I added a tiny bow and flower.

An old picnic basket is a great place to store garden tools!

I added a stencil of a vintage label to the lid.

Yes, it's a rusty saw.

Of course it needed to be stenciled!

My husband made a bunch of these boxes a couple years ago.

I found the last one and stenciled it.

This watering can needed a monogram!

This chicken water/ feeder is different than my other one.

I used just an old cover and attached it to a pan to look-like a feeder!

Oh good! Something else to stencil

Saved from the trash, with all it's rusty goodness!

I decided to stencil inside the lid and front below the lock.

I wiped the tool box, removing any loose dirt.

Taped down the stencil.

I went with black paint.

I used a coco liner and 4 plastic pots.

The plants came from my garden.

A matching seed box.

My stash of seeds!

Here is my Vegetable Garden-

I have string beans on the right and blackberries all along the back fence.

Squash and radishes in front.

There's some tomatoes hiding in the bush.

There are peas growing on this vertical  fence scrap.

My husband made the heart out of barbed wire.

We are growing Calabacita Mexican squash this year instead of zucchini.

They grow smaller, and need less space.

They are delicious, tender with a smooth buttery taste.

We are in Zone 10-

And a couple more pictures of the backyard.

This is part of my herb garden.

Forget-me-nots, lambs' ear and nasturtiums

We have grapes growing on this arbor made from pallet wood.

My chickens love to eat lemon balm :)

Thanks for taking that little tour with me!

It was my Mom's idea and

I want to thank my Mom for sharing her photos.

She takes great pictures and always makes

everything look so nice.

I hope you are able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine.
