Actualmente, el láser está siendo un instrumento cada vez más utilizado en la práctica clínica, sobre todo
en el campo de la oftalmología. Sus características hacen que sea peligroso y haya que tomar una serie
de medidas de seguridad para su utilización. Es importante tener en cuenta tanto el tipo de radiación
láser emitida como el material o tejido sobre el que se actúa; variando estos dos parámetros podemos
conocer el tipo de lesiones oculares a las que nos enfrentamos y sus diversas aplicaciones, como tera-
pias, tratamientos o cirugía.
