Deletion of Context Relevant page

Hi, I see you deleted the page Context Relevant. Someone else had marked it CSD A7 (see their note on my talk page), and I followed up by contesting the deletion and noting that the page is new, and marked it as a company stub pending additional page content. Given this, why was it deleted without further followup? In any case, could you email me the deleted page text? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ttocsredlog (talkcontribs) 18:47, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Elementary OS

Hi there, hope all is well. I would like to create a new article at Elementary OS. I have created a sample/starting point that I believe to be both neutral and verifiable at User:Kennethsime/sandbox. Please see Talk:Elementary OS for more information and to continue this conversation. I am contacting you here because you were the last deleting administrator and I seem to be unable to create the page myself. Kennethsime (talk) 21:10, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

I noticed you deleted the talk page I created on the subject. Not sure what warranted that, but perhaps you can tell me? And perhaps you can tell me how I can pursue this further? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kennethsime (talkcontribs) 04:44, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Inter-Services Intelligence support for militants

This article was speedily deleted under G4, however the deletion discussion used to get the article deleted was for an entirely different article. The fact of the matter is that the ISI has given support to and created terrorist groups. The sources used in the article were to academic publishers for the most part. But a quicj google sgows that this article meets all the criteria for inclusion in Wikipedia. The Council on Foreign Relations has an entire article devoted to the subject on their website[1] The New York Times has a regularly updated section about it.[2] The BBC[3] The Wall Street Journal[4] New York Times[5] Reuters [6] Dawn[7] The Guardian[8] The article meets WP:GNG, WP:V & WP:NPOV Please undelete. Copy-paste articles

I have recently discovered the joys of new page patrolling. I tagged this article for speedy deletion as a copyvio. The text "sounded borrowed" and sure enough, a Google search revealed the entirety of the article word for word on another website. Upon reviewing the contributions of the page's creator, I have discovered that he has created several articles that were also copied and pasted verbatim from elsewhere, some of which appear to have gone unnoticed for quite some time. Is there a place to report serial plagiarists such as these like there is for spammers/vandals at WP:AIV? Midhart90 (talk) 00:24, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Just to let you know, educational institutions are except from WP:CSD#A7. -- King of 09:39, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Limit theory deletion

Hello Sir, I was wondering why you decided to designate / delete Limit theory from Wikipedia.

Here is a list of similar projects which have been accepted on wikipedia which are similar to this project.

Project Eternity Double Fine Adventure Wasteland 2 Planetary Annihilation

I provided multiple sources and referencing to the project, and was able to get no response from you on the projects page. Sincerely James Nurse [email protected] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamesnurse (talkcontribs) 15:49, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Page deletion explanation

Hi RHaworth, Just wondering why you deleted the page Llew Jury, when we provided references to legitimate articles on Australia local government websites (lmba.com.au) and also Fairfax Media (http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/national/people/50-llew-jury-20121125-2a1d0.html) to substantiate the name and awards of Llew Jury.

This person below who is also based in Brisbane, has not been deleted from Wikipedia and uses the same format as was presented on the deleted page. Simon James (Australian businessman).

Please let us know how we can reapply and what you think is acceptable, as we are scratching our heads here with people that have the same page and remain on Wikipedia. Cheers and thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Reloada (talkcontribs) 22:18, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

  • Whaddya mean "same page"? Obviously no-one has the same page as Llew Jury. A significant difference which you seem to have missed is that the Simon James article has slightly more references. I suggest that you should wait until someone with no COI thinks Llew is notable and writes about him here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 00:55, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Cool thanks RHaworth - for the explanation. — Reloada (talk) 01:23, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Deletion of Recaptive page

Hi, I see you deleted the new page I posted. The page was completely rewritten to mach the wikipedia criteria (and actually was just a page with the technical definition of the architecture. No commercial features or "marketing spot"...). Can you please provide some details about the deletion of this new version?

Have a look also to the captive portal page. I think the content is quite old now, and some of the significant player are missing (like Recaptive) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fcrippa (talkcontribs) 03:13, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

This was added at the top of the page. I've moved it here. Fcrippa: Just so you know, the convention on Wikipedia is to always put new threads at the bottom of the page. — Francophonie&Androphilie(Je vous invite à me parler) 03:25, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

  • Did you actually read the AfD discussion? Did you see the words "this newly started service doesn't appear to meet the notability guidelines"? Did it cross your mind that any new version would need to show how the product meets the notability guidelines? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 03:51, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Stuart Burrows 2.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Stuart Burrows 2.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 19:13, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Basics

In the three messages below, not one of you has managed to provide a proper link to the article you are talking about and only one has signed their message. If you wish to contribute to Wikipedia please learn the basics. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:06, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

Request for "Ashesh and Nekhvam"

Mr RHaworth I had previously made a page named Ashesh and Nekhvam but there seemed to be no message for it to be in a waiting list to turn into an official page. That is why I thought i need to remake the page but with the same contents. So can I proceed? Thank you for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SujanTamrakar (talkcontribs)

  • Please read #Basics above. What on earth are you talking about? You are possibly confusing with the AfC process. Ashesh and Nekhvam was created in the (article) namespace. In as much as any new article may be considered "official", that one was official. Indeed the fact that an experienced editor had seen it and moved it rather than tagging it for deletion suggests it may be viable. You may proceed. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:06, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

Deletion of Morphyre

Please can you explain why you deleted the page for Morphyre? The reason a similar article was deleted in 2009 was lack of significant coverage. This is clearly not the case any more as Morphyre is the top google hit for "Music Visualizer" and second for "Music Visualization" after wikipedia and as we have lots of references: Windows Media Player visualisations page, Apple App Store, Android Store, Softonic, Softpedia Appeggs, Winamp. Our statistics page shows that Morphyre is run about 15,000 times per day worldwide.

The wikipedia Music Visualization page shows that there are visualizations with articles on wikipedia with fewer substantial references: SoundSpectrum, Neon, Advanced Visualization Studio, Virtual Light Machine, MIDIjam, Vsxu

Please can you explain the discrepancy in allowing some of these articles and not the Morphyre article or let me know what I can do to improve the page? Thank you for taking the time to explain your decision. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GW PUR3 (talkcontribs) 08:08, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

Musings on Musa

Hello RHaworth, I have a confusion regarding the recent restoration of page Musa (disambiguation) which you have deleted as its a redirect to a disambiguation page. I just wanted to know what is more appropriate title is it "Musa" or "Musa (disambiguation)" for a disambiguation page. The page Musa should be moved to Musa (disambiguation). The redirect is holding a page move. I have tagged it for deletion so the move can be made possible. Please correct me if I am wrong and please do specify that the tag for speedy deletion "db-disambig" is appropriate or not in this case. Hope to hear for you. -- Ibrahim ebi (talk) 09:17, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

  • If you want a deletion to enable a move, you use the {{db-move}} tag. Pages with (disambiguation) in their titles are only created when there is one subject that undoubtedly justifies being on the title without (disambiguation). Eg. Garibaldi is felt to overwhelmingly refer to one guy so he gets the Garibaldi slot (actually I think of biscuits!) and all other usages are sidelined to Garibaldi (disambiguation).
But in the case of Musa, I see no such predominant subject. Please tell me which article you would propose to move to Musa? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:30, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
RHaworth, as I also explained to Ibrahim ebi, it is correct to link to a disambiguation page using a redirect with "(disambiguation)" in the title, for example Musa (disambiguation) and Ibrahim (disambiguation). Please see WP:HOWTODAB. You are correct that it would be incorrect to move Musa to Musa (disambiguation) if there were no other page that was a primary topic. olderwiser 13:15, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
  • However there is absolutely no need to create from scratch xxx (disambiguation) as a redirect to xxx -- actually, this is not true. These redirects are created as a routine matter. There is at least one bot that creates such redirects and editors at WikiProject Disambiguation routinely create such redirects. These redirects are needed for the default form of several hatnotes. Whether you think edits such aas this are utterly pointless is up to you, but that is the accepted recommendation of WP:DAB. olderwiser 23:58, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
RHaworth, Oh now i get it. The article i want to move to the slot is Islamic view of Moses. As its depicting the Islamic views of Moses so i believe the name of the page should also be depicting the way it is spelled and understood in Islam. While the "Islamic view of Moses" should be treated as a redirect.
I was trying to move the page Musa to Musa (disambiguation) but the unnecessary redirect was holding up the move. Further as you said that the page should have to be eligible to attain the slot and my justification is that as the apostle Musa is a prominent figure in Islam therefore majority of the places and names of person are named after Him as also show in disambiguation page. So i believe the slot should be occupied by Islamic view of Moses and the disambiguation page should be moved to Musa (disambiguation).
Similarly is the case for Islamic view of Abraham to Ibrahim and Ibrahim (disambiguation) -- Ibrahim ebi (talk) 18:42, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
And also give you opinion whether or not i should tag its again with db-move or not. -- Ibrahim ebi (talk) 18:56, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
As far as Google search i concerned usually Prophet or as to there names is added as a honorifics and as Wikipedia don't use them therefore you would be having problem with the search results and i am sure if you use them and search in the Google tab you will find the number of results with the exact match.
Similarly if you make a crude search for "Adam" in Google you will find more results pointing to other topics and a single search result for Biblical character Adam but the page slot on Wikipedia is occupied by Adam. Same is the case for Abraham. I am not going to go into a debate on you talk page as i am going to start a discussion on the respective talk pages. But please clarify one thing to me that "await for consensus"; what is the possible time to wait if someone doesn't shows up??
By the way thanks for advices. -- Ibrahim ebi (talk) 08:29, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

  • How on earth could I delete your site? I have deleted your Wikipedia page as blatant advertising. You may be sure that when it becomes notable, someone with no COI will write about it here. Until then your input is not needed.

Spiral Language System new article

Could you please check if the article Spiral Language System is ok? With my best reagards, Sabrine Sabrine.Massine (talk) 01:28, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Sabrine.Massine

The article has already been PRODed by another user. It does look as if it could possibly be promotion for a book or a language course masquerading as an article. Perhaps a clean up would help, but it would still fail notability standards. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:26, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Deletion of fast ignition article

Please take a look at the several pages that reference this concept: special:search/fast ignition. Do you think Wikipedia may have been better served by improving the article, instead of deleting? But deleting is a lot quicker and easier. 67.169.185.246 (talk) 02:05, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

  • It clearly deserves an article. I am surprised that no-one has so far written one. The piece I deleted was deleted for being a blatant copyright violation not for doubts about the notability of the subject. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:42, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

All you had to do was delete the part you thought was copyrighted. The part you noted was copied and pasted from another Wikipedia article was fine. 67.169.185.246 (talk) 02:15, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

And by the way, that you're surprised an article you deleted does not exist, is awesome. 67.169.185.246 (talk) 02:26, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

  • Count yourself lucky I am replying at all - as you can see at #Songwrights above, I normally ignore messages from IP addresses. Third party material was deleted as a copyvio. The other stuff was deleted because we do not copy&paste large chunks of wiki text. Possibly you have not yet realised but we use wikilinks instead. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:12, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

Need help re Ibrahim ebi

Hi RHaworth, Ibrahim ebi is removing content from Ali . check this I specified birthplace and deathplace with reference but he removed it. I remove Abu-Al-Hasan from Title because it is Kunya not Title but he added it again in Title. I corrected one Title named Asad.Asad is name but Asadullah is title of Ali but he removed it. Ask him not to remove valid information.

And Sorry about this . I would not do this again,I did not know that there is a page about Shia view of Ali thats why i did it.SpidErxD (talk) 13:08, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

  • In general my sympathies are with Ibrahim ebi. A violent edit such as this one definitely looks disruptive. I also note that you have not made a single contribution to an article talk page. I suggest that you allow Ibrahim to tidy up your edits to his satisfaction, propose your changes on article talk pages and wait for third party views. This is a content dispute in an area where I have no knowledge. Please seek other dispute-resolution methods - eg. ask the opinion of Flagrantedelicto (talk · contribs). — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:38, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Why you called it vandalism

I change hyperlink of one Title of ThisTemplate because this template is of Twelver,Shia So it should show Shia view of Ali. SpidErxD (talk) 13:08, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

Antlers Hotel (Colorado Springs, Colorado)

Hi RHaworth, I'm not exactly sure why the page, Antlers Hotel (Colorado Springs, Colorado) warranted speedy deletion. This seems quite rash and mean. It may just be my misunderstanding and I'm willing to learn to fix my mistakes I made with the page if you could give me a copy or userify the deleted page. I hope I can warrant a speedy response as well. Thanks, -- Matt Grooms (talk) 04:23, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

  • No, there is nothing special about your request that warrants a speedy response. You cannot be serious. How can you expect a one-sentence stub to survive? The entire content was "The Antlers Hilton, originally built as the Antlers Hotel, is a luxury hotel in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado". It was not a case that you were working on the article - 15 hours elapsed between your edit and deletion.
Hotels are not normally deemed notable but if this one has some special claim to notability, develop a proper article in user:Matt Grooms/sandbox with proper third party references. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:31, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

  • You have been here long enough, you ought to have learnt by now that we do not put underscores in wikilinks and we "pipe" an ugly long link such as Wikipedia:Notable people#Crime victims and perpetrators. The preferred approach, in-line with the BRD cycle (note, another piped link) would have been for you to simply re-instate talk:Adam Lanza and challenge me to follow proper deletion procedures if I saw fit.
I looked for precedent to an incident which happened within a couple of miles of where I was: talk:Mark Dixie. You can see the result. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:13, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Thanks, I'll keep the information about links in mind in the future. As far as restoring deleted content per BRD -- that's a high risk approach -- admins are not homogenous and I've observed editors get serious flak for restoring deleted pages without discussing it with the deleting admin first. Crown The Empire

Crown The Empire - probably now WP:BAND 1, maybe 5, with release of album 20Nov2012 Hi RHaworth, My 13 year old son this morning said to me "Dad, can I play you some of that new band that I found last night?". Its backing music to a bunch of game videos on YouTube (^). So I look up Crown The Empire on Wikipedia and find there is none. So I go to start to write an entry for it, and find that the page has recently been deleted, and to contact you about this. (I'm WP:NPOV btw).

Rise Records released Crown The Empire's album on 20Nov2012. There is a poor (2.5 / 5) review of it at http://www.altpress.com/reviews/entry/crown_the_empire_the_fallout (Comments say that reviewer's categorisation of band as metalcore is wrong. Maybe it should be put in Category:United_States_punk_musical_group_stubs ?) There's lots of other reviews of the album on internet sites, but nothing I can find in print media.

What say you? What's the rules on this? I'm only ever going to be a shallow wp editor & won't understand the subtleties of wp editing; don't want to get into arguments either. YouTube: Band has 31,508 subscribers, 6,690,972 video views. Facebook: 100,273 likes

(^ - Amateur video game journalism seems to be an important part of Video game culture and Video game music culture - a massive phenomenon that isn't metioned on wikipedia anywhere. Hello, I'm new here so I'm not sure why the page called Bad Alphonso was deleted. A. Bates, the author of the book has written several novels and Bad Alphonso is just one of them. Some of her novels from the 90's were best-sellers, so I thought having a comprehensive list of her books would be a good thing. Is there anything I should do? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FlaviusFerry (talkcontribs) 21:13, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

"You made absolutely no attempt to demonstrate notability." When I first created the article about A. Bates, I got a message saying it was missing references and it needed at least ONE reference. Yes, it's hard to find her being mentioned online, but Wikipedia does offer an option for offline references. And that's why I listed what I had. The Wall Street Journal, for example. - "how on earth can I check them?" I can email scans, or post scans of The Wall Street Journal on her article. I'm not sure that's allowed, but at least you can see them. Yes it's hard to find references online, and so it is for every single author published by Scholastic in the early 90's. Even best-selling authors, like A. Bates. And that's precisely why I tried to create an article. When I got a message from Wikipedia saying I needed to provide at least one reference, I followed their link "Referencing for beginners" and follow their syntax. It's an offline reference to The Wall Street Journal, but it's a reference nevertheless. It states the exact page where they wrote about her. - "I have just deleted two more that did not even have plot synopses." Yes, I was still writing them because I was going through the books here. And no, they're not entirely my words because English is not my first language and asked a friend to help me write correctly. - "I would also like to see links in A. Bates to online evidence of Ms Bates' notability." That's what I'm trying to do. And even though it's hard to find Scholastic authors online, you can still find several websites that mention her name and her books. I provided a few. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FlaviusFerry (talkcontribs) 02:59, 23 December 2012 (UTC)

  • "You made absolutely no attempt to demonstrate notability." This was referring to any of your indiviual book stubs rather than to the A. Bates article itself. OK, I will accept that the woman herself is probably notable.
But as for the individual book stubs, I doubt if you will be able to demonstrate notability for any of them. The plot summaries read very much to me as though they have been lifted from back covers of the books or from other publisher's blurb. But since I can find no evidence of copyvio, I will attack on stylistic grounds: all these summaries are what I would call "taster" or "teaser" pieces: they give you a feel for the plot but don't tell you the ending. This is not what we need for Wikipedia: we need "spoiler" summaries which do tell you how the story ends. People used to put "spoiler warnings" on plot summaries but they were abandoned five years ago.
So my advice is: expand the A. Bates article with a short, spoiler summary for each book and leave it at that. You may of course create redirects from each individual title to the A. Bates article. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:13, 23 December 2012 (UTC)

Thank you, I didn't know the plots weren't supposed to be written like that. This is my first contribution on Wikipedia and I am just trying to follow how other author pages are done. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FlaviusFerry (talkcontribs) 22:32, 23 December 2012 (UTC)

IMFDb

Recovery of deleted original Internet Movie Firearms Database article. Hi Roger, I hope you remember me, you were very helpful when I first started actively editing and extremely generous with WP tips and advice. If its not an imposition, would you mind retrieving the original text/code for the article I wrote in February of 2011 for the Internet Movie Firearms Database and place it on my User page or where ever is convenient that I can access?

The article has been re-created and I would like to see if any of the original version that I wrote can be salvaged. I would make this request to the user (again) who originally nominated it for "speedy deletion", but he has retired from WP. Best regards & Happy Holidays, Chris --Scalhotrod - Just your average banjo playing, drag racing, cowboy... (talk) 06:29, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Thank you, much appreciated! Now I can dig out the issues of "American Rifleman", "Old West Magazine", and others that have used it for reference material and cite their uses of the site. I will do what I can to justify its WP inclusion and shore up its notability.

As for retrieval, I checked the revision history and do not see anything past the work on the current version. Nothing for my version from 2011 or the 2009 version you mention. Am I looking in the wrong place or possibly do I not have the proper access privilege?--Scalhotrod - Just your average banjo playing, drag racing, cowboy... (talk) 01:27, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

Found it! Thank you Sir! --Scalhotrod - Just your average banjo playing, drag racing, cowboy... (talk) 23:40, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

Requesting to approve

Hello Sir, I am requesting of recreation of an article about Indian state town Sinapali as bots/requests are approved for creation of missing Indian towns as per census 2001. That was deleted earlier by you. Here are the details added by me about the town. — Ishwar 06:57, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

  • Before you do any more edits, please learn about wikilinks - see my changes to your message above. What on earth does "bots/requests are approved …" mean? OK, it is an Indian village pop 10k, it probably deserves an article. The edits at Sinapali do not need restoring since they consisted just of:
Sinapali'...the city of rising *stars* on the cost of "Udanti". More details will come soon........!! Sushant//
So why are you writing to me? Go ahead and turn Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Sinapali into a proper article: add some actual description and above all independent evidence of notability. When you have done that, submit it via the AfC process - how you do that is another thing that you need to learn for yourself (hint: read the rendered state of the {{AFC submission}} tag at the top of the page). — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:13, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Thank for helping,sir — Ishwar 14:52, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

  • Apologies, I did not notice that you had already applied the {{submit}} tag when I wrote the above, otherwise I would have worded it differently. I have removed the submit tag because the article is obviously not ready. To repeat myself, what we need are: some actual description of the place, as well as lists; Google sees three temples in the village - they should be listed. But above all we need links to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. It would have helped if you had given the correct coordinates. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:35, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Apologies accepeted with regards and reflected the same for not giving proper coordinates,no offence...... i have given the exact coordinates(wikimapia) but the location of the village showing outside of state map if you see the location of the village showing out of the map of odisha .That's why i had put the estimated coordinates.— Ishwar 17:19, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Apologizes for lacking clarity.

Thank you for deleting Template talk:Editnotices/Group/User:My76Strat. I tried to indicate the deletion was dependent on the edit request. basically that Template:Editnotices/Group/User:My76Strat does need csd-g7 as well. Thank you very much for considering this. --My76Strat (talk) 11:53, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

TAA

You accidentally deleted a page that was originally a redirect: TheAmazingAtheist -> Jokela school shooting

Popular internet user and popular search term[9][10] who predicted the school shooting event, which was widely reported. [11][12][13][14]. Can you also fully protect it so it doesn't happen again.--Theamazo (talk) 21:08, 23 December 2012 (UTC)

Holiday Cheer

Holiday Cheer
Michael Q. Schmidt talkback is wishing you Season's Greetings! This message celebrates the holiday season, promotes WikiLove, and hopefully makes your day a little better. Spread the seasonal good cheer by wishing another user a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past, a good friend, or just some random person. Share the good feelings. - MQS

Happy Christmas. I've taken the above to AfD as I suspect a hoax not blatant enough for speedy. I've left more notes on the talk page. (I've only just got a good enough connection to have checked this thing - I'm on a dongle at the moment, sitting near the bank of a small lake waiting to see how far up the water will come. The Environment Agency reckon it'll miss evacuation point by 0.5 of a metre.) Peridon (talk) 20:02, 25 December 2012 (UTC)

  • I do hope it missed the evacuation point. Christmas Day was different for me too. Lunch was vegetarian haggis and in the afternoon we attended prayers as part of the 49 days of prayer being held to assist the passage of Sherab Palden Beru through the bardo.

Hey Roger, if you get a chance, can you take a look at this article? Blatant vandalism, but a fairly new editor just removed the CSD tag claiming that it had references. I would rather not PROD/AFD and let it sit around for a week. (The "white peony" is a current juvenile joke based off of the Five-Year Engagement movie and replicated here.) Thanks, Cindy(talk to me) 13:07, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

  • You know, on second thought, I noticed the editor is an infrequent admin that I think I'll ping and ask him to take a thorough look. Thanks, Cindy(talk to me) 13:09, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
    • Curious, Roger. Did you actually read the article or the "reliable source" that you found? This is too funny. Read it again and count how many times you find lick, anus, fart, and ejaculate in the article, then check and see if any of this content is found in reliable sources. The story of White Peony and Lu Dongbin of Chinese mythology is not the same as the story told in this article. Too many guys falling for a hoax this week, I guess. Hope you had a Merry Christmas! Ashesh and Nekhvam

Mr RHaworth I have made the wiki page for "Ashesh and Nekhvam" and I've been working on it for quite some time now. I've been able to remove it from being a stub but I am still unable to meet the required criteria for more citations required. So can you tell me how I can meet the citations requirement in order to make this a proper page. Thank you for your kind co-operation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.159.56.184 (talk) 06:00, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

  • You managed two of the things about which I complained but you still need to learn to sign talk page comments with ~~~~ - it will be automatically converted when you save your comment. I am glad you understand "the required criteria for more citations". I certainly would not claim to understand them fully. The Wikipedia Devil's Dictionary defines the criteria: "references are good enough if the no-one proposes the article's deletion". The fact that I touched the article without proposing its deletion indicates that I considered the refs good enough. A fortnight's survival suggests that others agree with me. Do not remove the {{Refimprove}} tag - that should be done by an uninvolved editor - just stop worrying about it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:35, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
