Author/Book Notability

[edit]

Hi, Beltlyre! I wanted to let you know that I reviewed your article on Rachel Morgan and moved it to be an article about her book, Sins of the Shovel, instead. Typically, for an author to be wiki-notable for their own article, we expect to see multiple notable books. If the person has biographical coverage for reasons unrelated to the book, that can make them wiki-notable through the WP:NBIO criteria, but one book isn't enough for the WP:NAUTHOR criteria. More broadly I'd encourage you to start with book articles first when an author only has one. Regardless, thanks for your contributions!

Speedy deletion nomination of Helena Kelly

[edit]

Hello, Beltlyre,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Wolverine XI, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Helena Kelly, for deletion, because it is a very short article that doesn't provide readers with enough context to determine who or what the subject is.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Wolverine XI}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Ways to improve Mary Haverstick

[edit]

Hello, Beltlyre,

Thank you for creating Mary Haverstick.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

It will be helpful to include additional text in the two sections of the article, as bullet lists alone do not provide context or meaning for a reader.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|FULBERT}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Helena Kelly moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Helena Kelly. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and most sources support notability of the Austen biography, not Kelly herself.. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Jonathan Deamer (talk) 16:21, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:53, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a sockpuppet

[edit]
Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively as a sockpuppet of User:Slowking4 per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Slowking4. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
