Red Link Recovery
editThank you for your work on the red link recovery wikiproject. Just a couple of suggestions...
- Please make sure that if you are changing or redirecting links that they are to the correct person. Your redirect of Don Fergusson made a redirect from an Australian police detective to a Canadian actor.
- Please make sure that the link you're redirecting needs to be redirected. Because Wikipedia changes so rapidly, many of the links have already been fixed. When you click on a red link, click on the "what links here" section in the toolbox on the lower left of your screen. This will tell you if there are pages other than the red link project that link there. If there are no other pages, you don't have to worry about it.
- After you have corrected or redirected an article, please remove it from the page, rather than striking it out. Strikeouts should be reserved for articles that you CAN'T fix.
- Please make the red link into a redirect only if there are several misspellings of the same name. If there is only one, please just change the spelling on the page that links to it to the correct spelling.
For more details, please see the text at the top of each page of the project. If you have any questions, please post on my talk page. Thanks again for all your help! Dana boomer (talk) 13:55, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Port Weller Public School
editThank you for noticing that Port Weller Public School appeared to be a test, empty or nonsense article. Articles about schools generally aren't speediable. I changed it to a redirect to the school district which runs the school, as we usually do for elementary schools that are not particularly notable. -- Eastmain (talk) 00:18, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for letting me know about that. Userafw (talk) 00:20, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
I apologize for that duplicate page about the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh. If I knew how, I would have wiped it out immediately myself. I really did look first, but my searches kept coming up with the same incorrect article, so I created one only to realize later that it was a mistake. Actually now that I think of it, should it be a re-direct, rather than deleted? Others might be having the same problems I did identifying the diocese which stayed with the national church.Rose bartram (talk) 12:33, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of The Crofter
editA tag has been placed on The Crofter, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Seegoon (talk) 22:10, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

editCSD tagging
editPlease do not tag redirect pages, such as Michaek K. Morgan with CSD A3 tags - these are meant for articles, not for redirects. If you think that a particular redirect needs to be deleted, list it at WP:RFD. Thanks, Nsk92 (talk) 23:57, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, I guess the rules have changed some since I was on last (a long time ago). Userafw (talk) 23:58, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, no, the rules have not changed, but CSD A3 was never applicable to redirects in the first place. Redirects are not articles, but rather are search and navigation aids, and they are not meant to have any content as such. To quote from WP:R, "A redirect is a page which has no content itself, but sends the reader to another article, section of an article, or page, usually from an alternative title." Thus it makes no sense to delete a redirect on "no content" grounds. Nsk92 (talk) 00:29, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Manic stupor
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Manic stupor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Ravendrop (talk) 06:47, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers
editHi Userafw,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
