Just like the kimbo dispute below, you keep making up this fake pro exhibition records that don't exist! Its an oxymoron to create a record for an exhibition match for the very purpose of a exhibition is to not be included in any record. These tallies should only categorize for anything pro combat sports. That's why they are no amateur tally records. The exhibition match is already mentioned under "mixed Martial arts career".It is NOT a pro mma record.PERIOD

notice here their is no mention of the exhibition bout.http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Ray-Mercer-22389

UpDATE: That's because you put that in kimbo's page, that doesn't mean wikipedia thought you were right.Kimbo's page is now locked.

The person below stated such. You thought the mercer fight should have been in kimbo's pro record and then you decided to make that phony record.

Even in mercer's discussion page, someone else complain about that phony exhibition record. So i'm not alone in this.If you want to put mercer's k1 record that's fine.but don't put something that's not sanction under professional combat sport record.

ps:you coded the last edit wrong, your vandalizing his page to the public. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Outerdrake (talkcontribs) 04:13, 17 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

UFC Fight Night 13

edit

Sorry, looks like I was a little quick on the draw there. I hadn't seen the new reports actually confirming matches for the event and confirming that those matches were for "UFC Fight Night 13". We've been having problems lately with UFC 83 & 84 (where everyone keeps fighting about where the event is and which set of fights might actually be the right ones for which event), so I've been keeping a close eye out for this article. Looks like there might actually be enough information to keep it by now. Gromlakh (talk) 23:31, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

EliteXC: Street Certified

edit

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article EliteXC: Street Certified, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 03:29, 12 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've replied at Talk:EliteXC: Street Certified. From a quick skim of articles relating to EliteXC, few of them cite any reliable sources which demonstrate the sport's notability in the context of including it in an encyclopedia. The sport as a whole appears to be notable, but I don't see why the individual matches are. --Nick Dowling (talk) 05:48, 12 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
It would probably be better to place those references in the article rather than on my talk page. I still don't see how this event is notable when most individual sporting matches aren't notable (for instance, individual matches in major football leagues which are also generally very high rating TV shows). --Nick Dowling (talk) 22:51, 12 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'd suggest that you review Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. I don't think that Wikipedia is or should be an unofficial results database for this or any other sport. If you're not happy with the offical websites, then start a Geocities page or something. --Nick Dowling (talk) 00:47, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Affliction: Banned

edit

A tag has been placed on Affliction: Banned, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Affliction: Banned and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Accounting4Taste:talk 04:40, 12 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Gangsters

edit

I haven't actually seen the film in question, but the article was unclear about its factuality. The editor that added that to the article originally was on an agenda-driven crusade so I wasn't prepared to accept his word for anything, but if you're sure the film is a reliable source then I'm entirely happy to accept it. Orpheus (talk) 23:00, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

An extra source - brilliant! (edit: and bloody interesting, incidentally.) Not necessary from my point of view, but let's face it - more sources are never a bad thing. If you wouldn't mind adding it to the article (if you haven't already), that would be extra spiffy. Thanks for correcting the article. Orpheus (talk) 23:12, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Affliction: Banned

edit

Why did you add the professional MMA organization template to Affliction: Banned? It seems that none of the other events have this template at the bottom and it should probably be sufficient that it is on the Affliction Entertainment article. Proposed deletion of Strikeforce at E3

edit

The article Strikeforce at E3 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Violation of WP:CRYSTAL. Not officially announced by the organization, and the only reference qualifies as a rumour mill.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 14:49, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

Good idea to add a chart... I'll try and get to some of these so that you don't have to do all the work but since I do most of my editing offline here at my job, I don't tend to get a ton of time to do these things very quickly. It might be best if you work from Strikeforce Challengers 2 and work your way up and I'll start at Strikeforce Challengers 15 and work my way down and we'll meet in the middle somewhere. Your objections to treating the UFC events the same way as the Bellator Fighting Championships seem to me as one more born out of causing disruption to WP to make a point than a wish to improve the coverage of UFC. Mtking (edits) 02:22, 7 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

The article Strikeforce Challengers: Larkin vs. Rossborough has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This sports event fails WP:NOTNEWSPAPER policy along with WP:EVENT, WP:SPORTSEVENT and WP:MMAEVENT, there is no attempt in the actual article to demonstrate any lasting significance, the sources are from either before or immediately post the event and are just of the routine coverage type any sports event gets, they are either not independent or from MMA centric websources that lack diversity.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. SPI Mistake

edit
Udar55 I apologize for including you in the Sock-puppet investigation. I was using my iPad and it looked like you had only made contributions to that discussion and were a days old account. Once the Check-user was declined, I removed you and two others who were obviously not new accounts. You can see the Diff from when I opened the SPI and when the Check user was declined here.

I'm certainly not trying to fight anyone who wants to voice their opinion about a deletion, my main concern was the previous sock-puppetry on MMA AfD's and the obvious WP:CANVASSING and WP:MEAT issues on that and other AfD's.

If you or anyone else wants to explain What makes one of those fights significant that I can add to the article and cite from a non MMA only source, I will gladly do so. Seriously, Just point me in the right direction and I'll do the hard work. Other than that , I and others just feel the MMA events that are not "game changers" and cannot be described with any prose or demonstration of lasting significance, belong on the omnibus for the year. No one is trying to wipe MMA off Wikipedia.

Again, sorry, and I'm glad you removed the user message about the SPI before I got a chance to. I will probably cross post this on other users pages, but I don't mean it any less, I just don't have time to be this thorough on every page today, and I want to apologize sooner than later. Again, it was an honest mistake out of concern, I apologize. Newmanoconnor (talk) 20:01, 26 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Seriously, I'm not on an MMA vendetta or anything against you. Please see the NI and my talk page for more info. I'm sorry I've frustrated you so much. It is not personal at all.

I do have a question, Would you be interested in helping to keep the Omnibus(s) updated if the guidelines Dennis has come up with so far are decided upon? The notability discussion seems to have digressed into more attacks and defensiveness and alot of well we're not going to contribute anything anymore. You seem very passionate about MMA, but you also seem passionate about film and I really would value your input. I'm sorry I've frustrated you, I may have someone close the AfD's per nom request once I get a response from another editor who interjected some advice and questions today.Newmanoconnor (talk) 18:37, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Overeem and UFC 146.

edit

I noticed you re-added the paragraph I removed from UFC 146, concerning Overeem's appeals process. Can you explain why you feel this information is relevant to this event? His positive test and subsequent removal is certainly relevant, as it drastically altered the card. But his appeal took place AFTER he was no longer a part of the show. The results of this appeal had no ramifications for the card, only for Overeem's own fight licence (that is, if he had succesfully appealed, dos Santos would still fight Mir and Overeem would still sit this one out).

I thank you for leaving (and re-adding) some of the other changes I had made, instead of just reverting. I hope we can come to an understanding on this issue. InedibleHulk (talk) 19:56, 14 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the explanation. I've had my own experiences with the omnibus crew, and I can understand how their type of tenacious "diplomacy" can wear an editor into a compromise that may not be best for Wikipedia. I'll reluctantly accept throwing them a bone for now, but will revisit the article after the show's in the books, when we have actual occurences we can all (hopefully) agree establish notability on their own. Maybe we'll get lucky, and one of the "cabal" will decide to actually watch this show and finally realize it's not at all similar to a hockey game. Should be a good one! Go Junior! InedibleHulk (talk) 22:16, 14 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

And now I see User:Mtking considers this entire section "undue weight". So much for appeasing him, I guess. If you'd like to reconsider removing the appeal paragraph in light of this, let me know (or remove it yourself). InedibleHulk (talk) 22:24, 14 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Alright, I reverted it. Yes, your movie analogy makes sense. Unfortunately, a lot of common sense seems to fail WP:SOMETHINGORANOTHER in this flame war/debate. Your first round TKO prediction also makes perfect sense. I think it would be safe to add it to the results section already, but that MIGHT cause some concern ;) Good to meet you, too. MMA templates

edit

So I did some experimentation with the templates to see how they'd work. Look at my test article here, with a sample card pulled from the Bellator article you mentioned at WT:MMA. Mainly that's to show you how much work/typing/copy-paste is involved in each option. There's a slight difference as you set the font size to 100% while the template (and the Suggested Improvement 2) have the font size set to 85%. Of course, the nice part of templates is you can change it once and affect everything... Not sure what you think but thought I'd toss it out there. Something to remember is you do still have to manually add the closing -| and {{notelist|close}}, barring a footer template. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ravensfire (talkcontribs) 16:34, January 8, 2013‎

Hey - wonder if you might have a bit of time to glance at something. I decided to experiment with switching an existing article over to the new event result format using the templates as much as possible. I've got some visual concerns with the end result so I copied it over to a user page. Would you mind taking a look here and see what you think? Did I miss something? Remember that the MMAevent template has a smaller font size so it's going to look smaller than the Bellator article. I know we can do some padding tricks to get the spacing if needed but I would like someone else to look at it and offer thoughts before I get crazy. Thanks! Hello Udar.

The "MMA fighter format" you are referring to cannot possibly override wiki-wide guidelines, such as MOS:DATE and WP:STRONGNAT. They will have to accomodate for them.

I'm going to revert your last change. Please don't change again. If you disagree, then start a discussion on Talk:Alexander Gustafsson or in an appropriate forum (which, I cannot say).

Thanks.

Cast

edit

At WP:FILMCAST, #3 states, "A 'Cast' section may be maintained but with more detailed bulleted entries, or a table or infobox grouping actors and their roles may be placed in the plot summary or in the 'Casting' subsection of a 'Production' section." The approach will depend on the article, and for Surf Ninjas, the simple cast list can be put in the plot summary. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 18:45, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Not going to edit war over informational tags but it is a pretty long standing consensus that with respect to TUF fights only the final is considered top tier - other TUF fights are considered exhibition. Hi Udar55, I would just like to ask if you are going to be participating in the DRN mediation case for the UFC 193 article. Participation is voluntary, but it would be helpful to have an indication that you are either: a) not going to participate, b) reserve the right to participate, but do not currently wish to, or c) you currently wish to participate. Remember to keep the discussion focused on content, not editors, if you decide to participate. Cheers, Drcrazy102 (talk) 05:21, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Bellator MMA in 2016

Come on man you delete all my stuff. Your template is so cheap lol. Back in the 90s...You need to evolve!

— Preceding unsigned comment added by KINGFEDORQc (talkcontribs) 14:19, November 29, 2016 (UTC)

I disagree. The tables are awful. Udar55 can you revert the Rizin events pages as well?Rideonbus (talk) 17:30, 30 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

KINGFEDORQc We have moved past the 90's - that's the hard-coded table madness you are using. The templates give us a uniform appearance and layout across all articles. They were created after discussion on the MMA wikiproject. You *should* be using the templates, not the gawd-awful hardcoded template garbage. Ravensfire (talk) 19:08, 30 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
Further note - I reverted the template removal on a couple of other articles. KINGFEDORQc has removed them from various other MMA articles and created a couple using the ugly table wikicode. I'm definitely not planning on touching the newly created articles and probably won't revert the other articles as they are fairly small entities and frankly not that interested in getting in an edit-war with someone who's almost certainly a previous user returning under a new account. Ravensfire (talk) 22:30, 30 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
And for those interested, this MMA project talk archive page explains some of the formatting stuff. Uggh, I'd forgotten how much drama was happening around this stuff back then. Chased me away for a while in pure frustration. Ravensfire (talk) 00:32, 1 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

It looks like you're adding release information for some slightly obscure films. Thanks for taking the time to work on them. A lot of these Wikipedia articles are in pretty terrible shape, and what little information is in them is usually unsourced. What we really need is for people to add inline citations. Adding even more unsourced content to them just compounds the issue. Although it's often difficult to find sources about films that didn't receive a wide release in the US, Google Books is a good starting place for any research. WP:FILM/R may also be helpful. If you get stuck, feel free to ask for help at WikiProject Film or on my talk page. I work in this topic area fairly often, especially low-budget horror and exploitation, and I have a fair idea of where to find sources. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 22:26, 3 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Non-free image use

edit

Hi Udar55. The licensing of each image you see on Wikipedia is determined by it copyright status and not every image file you see on Wikipedia is licensed the same. Some files are licensed as public domain or licensed under a free licensed suitable for Wikipedia and these are often collectively referred to as "free images". Other files are licensed as non-free content because of their copyright status and these file are commonly referred to as "non-free images". Non-free image use is highly restricted and each use of such an an image must satisfy Wikipedia's non-free image use policy. One of these restrictions is WP:NFCC#9, which says that non-free content can only be used in the article namespace. For this reason and as explained in WP:UP#Non-free files, non-free content such as File:Tales from the crypt presents demon knight.jpg and File:kungfupanda.jpg cannot be used (i.e., displayed) in User:Udar55/sandbox. Perhaps you did not notice the edit sum I left the previous time I removed such files; therefore, I'm posting this here to provide more explanation. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask as WP:MCQ or WT:NFCC. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:21, 10 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

The Colour Out of Space

edit

Hi Udar55. While I'm not sure that I agree with "notability isn't required for a listing of feature length film adaptations", per the guidelines as Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Novels#Adaptations, I concede that the Bloody Disgusting review is probably sufficient, so thank you for adding that source. One question I still have, however, is about the "Behind the Couch" source, which seems to fall afoul of WP:BLOGS (and I couldn't find any exceptions made for it at the WP:RSN archives) and isn't citing anything that couldn't be covered as an appropriate use of Wikipedia:Citing IMDb. I was wondering if there was a reason you were including it. Canadian Paul 19:56, 27 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. "That is a ridiculously long intro against Wikipedia standards" - Actually, it is completely within Wikipedia's standards and meets the length required for Featured Article or Good Article status.

"...all of the info is covered in the main article" - Exactly. That's the point of the lead section; to summarise all of the key points in the article, which your revert did not. DarkKnight2149 23:24, 16 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Also, I took a look at some of the articles you created. Word of friendly advice, the leads were often bare bones or too short on several of them. Please look into WP:LEAD and Template:Leadtooshort. DarkKnight2149 23:27, 16 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Tattletales

edit

Please stop adding unsourced episode lists to the Tattletales article. Lists of game show episodes do not meet guidelines in WP:EPISODE (specifically, content "must still be notable, and contain out-of-universe context, and not merely be a list of episode titles or cast and crew: Wikipedia is not a directory.") This is not a television series with fictional plot synopses that is appropriate to be chronicled within an article, and the specific details of results from a television game show episode do not meet WP:GNG. This content falls under WP:LISTCRUFT. AldezD (talk) 19:23, 21 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Keep the source

edit

Hi Udar55, Greetings to you. I understand there are source in the body text, however, not every page (MMA fighter's page) has the source on body text on achievements section such as award from other media (best fighter of year xxxx, breakout fighter of year xxx and etc) and secondly, it take a lot of reading just to find the source in the body text to relate back to the achievement section for any reader to verfify the content. Please keep the source for ease of referencing, instead other editors could come in and remove the content as no source indicated (especially for biography of a living person) and we have to go back and add all back. Content support by source is the key cornerstone principle of Wikipedia. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 21:56, 21 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Suspiria (1977 film). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. DarkKnight2149 12:47, 6 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 36 hours for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Number 57 16:44, 6 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Bellator

edit

Hey. If Bellator is confirmed to be off Showtime, it's reasonable that one should find reliable citation(s) for that information and add it to the "broadcast partners" sub-section instead of just straight-up deletion. Spagooder (talk) 02:12, 19 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Invitation to participate in a research

edit

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
