Yes, the account was requested on #wikipedia-en-unblock and we were aware of the connection - he asked for an unblock first - it should be noted in the account creation log. User:MuZemike and I discussed it extensively and decided that we were in a bit of a pinch because User:Daniel Case told the user on-wiki to create a new account here while an autoblock (and an account creation block) was in effect and then User:GorillaWarfare told him to stop asking for unblocks that "you've been advised of how to proceed from here" with this edit, again suggesting the recourse was to create a new account. It was also problematic that GorillaWarfare included a warning that continued requests would result in talk page editing being revoked but it was then revoked in the next edit by Daniel Case. If the user really had a compromised account then a new account is the right thing to do. If he is crying wolf, then he will do so again and will get blocked - or he won't in which case it won't matter. He got a stern warning against any funny business this time around. It looks like MuZemike may not have lifted the autoblock though, which is going to pose a bit of a problem for the user. BTW, what was the "block evasion" cited as reason #2 in the original block? --Doug.(talk • contribs) 21:53, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response. It does sound like there were some crossed wires there. This person has had accounts blocked before, mainly just childish vandalism stuff. I agree with the stern warning as well. This should really be their last chance. Thanks again for taking a look and if there are issues with the user, just let me know. TNXMan 22:08, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
- FYI, we had some trouble with the autoblock. I've cleared the blocks and re-blocked without autoblock.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 08:56, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
Block evasion by VKFP
I believe this may be a sockpuppet of the user VoteKlakForPresident (talk · contribs) according to what the former's user page suggests.--Tærkast (Communicate) 13:09, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

- No probs. I started an SPI page, but feel sort of useless now since it's over. Plus it's my first SPI opened, I didn't really know what to expect or do. The SPI page. can probably be closed.--Tærkast (Communicate) 14:37, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
Wonder if you could spare a moment to cast you eye over the contributions of Mrs Delyth Evans (talk · contribs). I have a suspicion that it may be another sock of Crouch, Swale (talk · contribs) but I'd appreciate a second opinion before blocking and I know you are familiar with the background. edits on BITS Goa page
Hi there. Before editing out material, please give the reasons for doing so on the talk page. Your feverish pace of editing during the last few days (when i was away from Wikipedia) has distorted the article completely. I appreciate your efforts to maintain the quality of wikipedia articles; but please list the edits that you want on the talk page, so that either I can undertake them, or can give the reasons why I consider them unnecessary. Please note that I put in a great amount of precious time in sourcing the material and naming the article look aesthetic etc. and if you do want to edit it yourself, please maintain the integrity of the article. Your actions, I am afraid to say, greatly discourages new editors like myself from contributing any further. PratikMallya Talk! 07:46, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but the material you've added hasn't been reliably sourced, that is, sourced to an independent third-party source. Wikipedia is not a place to promote the college or act as a brochure for the school. TNXMan 15:15, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- I understand you, and if you see my edits, you will know that I have wanted to do the same. However, please understand that this is India; coverage of University campuses is very low and hard to find; it took me a long time to nail down the description of the campus which you seem to edit out every time. It is actually a fact; the statistics are correct regarding the built areas and buildings. If you would like, i can edit out the parts which are overtly praise the campus. I again humbly request you to please not keep editing out material without discussing on the talk page; be polite enough to request the changes from editors who have worked on the article for long; I am sure that we can come to a common ground. User talk:Summer Vacation
I had revolked talk page access, but hit an edit conflict with the decline reason where I was going to mention it. As you only gave a warning re: not continuing to abuse the unblock template while I was going to state it was revoked - I wanted to discuss with you. If you feel he should be given one more chance, feel free to restore talk page access. But, the prior two decline reasons had given the same warning, so I was feeling that it was time to enforce their stated intent to retire and to no longer edit Wikipedia. --- Barek (talk • contribs) - 14:16, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi, TNXMan. I had a look at this and some similar articles after seeing the EL added by User:Zonestash, whom you recently blocked. I'm out of my depth here, but it looks to me like some of the warez-related articles are full of ELs to sites with download links to pirated software. I think the article may be being used not merely to describe practices but to promulgate information about how and where to obtain illegal downloads. The article "sources" appear to be principally warez and warez-enthusiast sites themselves. Even where the links don't violate WP:ELNEVER, the sources are sub-RS, to put it mildly. But to be frank, I'm completely at sea on this topic, so I can't really judge what I'm seeing when I follow an EL like this. Would you have a second to have a look and confirm or allay my suspicions before I go off at half-cock? -- Rrburke (talk) 02:49, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
- I would attack the article with a hacksaw (of course, I usually do that anyway). There's a lot of unsourced information, original research, and, as you point out, badly sourced information. I've cut the external links as well. Thanks for catching this. TNXMan 11:29, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

I'm think that ShoutWiki deserves an article, but I'm new here and my previous Wiki experience was only Uncyclopedia, so I fail to write a proper article that's actually about something. Deletion of "Eve's Fund for Native American Health Initiatives"
Hi!
I just noticed today that the page "Eve's Fund for Native American Health Initiatives" was deleted by you on March 31 at 14:25.
This was my first attempt at writing a Wikipedia page, and I tried to model it after other non-profit pages that are currently on Wikipedia.
I made sure to include several media references that backed up the information I wrote on the page. I also thought I used very neutral language.
Can you please let me know if there is a possibility of getting this page re-instated with some edits on my part?
I am very much confused by the "Wikipedia World" and spent many hours reading and learning before attempting my first page.
I want to learn if you can just tell me in layman's terms what part of my article was not written correctly.
Please let me know if there's any way I can get my page back up.
Thank you, RIPublisher (talk) 16:24, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
Hi,
Just following up on my note above...any chance I can get my page back? I'm happy to make changes...I didn't think I wrote the page in a "promotional" way....let me know--thanks!
RIPublisher (talk) 13:21, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) From an outside perspective, I would suggest that one of the biggest concerns is WP:COI - a userid called "RIPublisher" and another one called "Eves Fund" both edited this page - as such, the promotional nature of the article was well-established. Please note that although noble, very few non-profit entities meet the notability requirements of Wikipedia. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 13:44, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Hi Bwilkins (talkpage stalker). Thank you for your comment. I understand that a userid "Eves Fund" tried to edit my page, but I don't understand why it had to be deleted because of that. Couldn't they just inform "EvesFund" that they aren't allowed to edit a page with the same name as their userid? Also, I did not write my page in a promotional way (in my opinion) and used outside sources to meet the "notability" requirements.
I am hoping that I will here from the administrator who deleted the page without any warning. Isn't there a way to get it reinstated and then ask editors for help fixing it to make it better? RIPublisher (talk) 14:38, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- Some things, such as notability, must be established from the very beginning. I think I left you a whack of links on your talkpage. You would do well to understand them. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 15:15, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

Eve's Fund for Native American Health Initiatives
I am Eve's mom, in whose memory Eve's Fund is named. I have just found the notes written by other editors and can clearly understand now, how it must have seemed like my attempted edit on the page was "promotional." It certainly was not intended to be however. Although I use Wikipedia almost everyday, I had never tried to post a comment and quite frankly didn't realize "anyone could do it". When I saw that anyone could add content to the page, I attempted to add a link to a "notable" event that we had supported. As soon as I got the message, after the fact, that anyone representing an organization should not be adding comments, I logged off. I respectfully ask for your reconsideration of your decision to remove the Eve's Fund page. Why? It was a honest mistake, by a 65 year old mother, who is doing " "noble" and notable" things everyday for Native American children, who have often been neglected and forgotten. What could be more worthy of attention, then the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation having recognized a, yes, small non-profit organization by giving us a "Quality of Life" grant for our efforts in prevention education. If we have saved one life because a young Navajo child will no longer get in a car without using a seat belt, or won't ride a bicycle without a helmet, we will have accomplished something noteworthy. I apologize for my ignorance and my mistake–it will not happen again. I ask again for a reversal of the decision to remove the Eve's Fund page from this fine resource page. Thank you for the great "volunteer" work you do everyday. --Eves Mom (talk) 12:29, 8 April 2011 (UTC)--Eves Mom (talk) 12:32, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

- It took me a moment to investigate, but I figured it out. That IP is one used by a serial vandal, so I put the kibosh on them for a couple of weeks. I rechecked just now and it's pretty certain it's the same person. I freaked out for a second, I couldn't remember this one! Thanks for looking into it and if there is more I can do, please let me know. TNXMan 15:06, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- I figured it must be something like that. Thanks for the response. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:59, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

I guess we have one of these now, so you're the first to get it. Thank you for all the hard work you do - it's seriously appreciated. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 02:44, 11 April 2011 (UTC) |

Thanks for lifting my autoblock :D — Preceding unsigned comment added by Crossfire101 (talk • contribs) 16:26, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
- No problem. You seem to have the misfortune of sharing an IP with a vandal. TNXMan 16:30, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Regarding this block, in your opinion is a month the right duration? Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:00, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- It could even be longer, but I think a month is a good start. Cheers! TNXMan 18:02, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
Blocking of Eve's Fund for Native American Health Initiatives
Haven't heard anything from you regarding my request to unblock Eve's Fund for Native American Health Initiatives page. There are thousands and thousands of non-profits and individuals working with non-profits, being written about here and I don't understand why we are being penalized because I tried to add a new link for my first time ever contribution. Hope you will reconsider. Thank you. --Eves Mom (talk) 11:13, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but your article was deleted because it was advertising for the company. If you'd like, I can restore the article to a sandbox for you where you can improve it before moving it to the mainspace. I would also encourage you to read our information on writing your first article and writing from a neutral point of view. TNXMan 11:22, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, that sounds like a good resolution. Would appreciate you doing that.--Eves Mom (talk) 06:32, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
