Proposed deletion of Texas at Miss USA and Miss Teen USA

edit

The article Texas at Miss USA and Miss Teen USA has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unnecessary synthesis, topic is covered adequately at Miss Texas USA and Miss Texas Teen USA. This amounts to little more than fancruft & original research

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ...   CJ [a Kiwi] in  Oz  15:19, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits to Miss Alaska USA while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. Miss Universe 2018 issue

edit

Your recent editing history at Miss Universe 2018 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
I have explained my reasoning at the article talk page, I would encourage you to discuss the issue further there. ...   CJ [a Kiwi] in  Oz  03:37, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

To add to this section go an fix ALL THE HEIGHTS that are inconsistent with what Miss Universe webiste says, you are the one that wanted to keep the height on there now all the heights are not consistent with Miss Universe website. Go through every single contestant and fix their height. Art 281 (talk) 21:26, 3 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Update: I went ahead and removed the height information on the contestants of Miss Universe 2018. There was numerous of wrong heights that didn't match the Miss Universe website. edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Indonesia at major beauty pageants. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. GorillaWarfare (talk) 07:14, 26 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, and as Ivanvector said below, repeatedly reverting is not the best way to deal with socking; better is to report the account and get the account blocked for socking. Galobtter (pingó mió) 17:57, 17 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Galobtter: fair enough. Nguyenquochieu2107: in the future, if you suspect another account is a sockpuppet (even if you're sure they are) please do not edit war with them. Please file a report at WP:SPI or notify an administrator at WP:ANI or on an admin's talk page. If you just start reverting, someone like me who doesn't know what's going on is going to block you again. If you have any questions about this please feel free to ask. I have unblocked your account. @Ivanvector: @Galobtter: thank you so much.

Thanks for recognizing the sockpuppetry of Special:Contributions/Globalbeauties, but as I and Ivan said to you, you should also report the sock so that it gets blocked. Bea Patricia Magtanong on the Miss International 2019 article

edit

Hello, Nguyenquochieu2107

I have reverted your edit on Bea Patricia Magtanong's name on the Miss International 2019 page/aticle, and provided her complete name. Her name is "Bea Patricia Magtanong," and although her first given name is "Bea," she is popularly known as "Patricia" or "Patch" Magtanong, so there isn't any reason why her full name shouldn't be included. Take for example Meghan Markle, who is known by that name and not through her first name "Rachel." Please refrain from re-editing if your reason is that she has a page of her own, which is invalid a reason. Thanks.

edit

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you change genres in pages without discussion or sources, as you did at Philippines at major beauty pageants. Do not revert established name, Bea Patricia Magtanong. Her article on Wikipedia is Bea Patricia de Guzman Magtanong, including her matronymic surname "De Guzman," and her name in international format (given name/s and surname) is "Bea Patricia Magtanong," not "Bea" or "Patricia" alone, as she is not even known by those names popularly, but as "Patch Magtanong," hence, to observe consistency of format on Wikipedia, we use Bea Patricia Magtanong. This is your last warning. Migsmigss (talk) 13:13, 13 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Please stop removing maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Miss International 2019, without resolving the problem that the template refers to. This may be considered disruptive editing. Further edits of this type may result in your account being blocked from editing. Please refrain from removing and blanking maintenance templates without valid reason, and especially without supplementing reliable sources so the template(s) could be removed. This is a warning. Thanks. Migsmigss (talk) 13:18, 13 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

"By the end" over "at the end'"

edit

Hello. "By the end" is more appropriate than "at the end" as the former means an event should have already happened before the end of the show, which is the case for coronations in pageantry. Coronations are not the final segment, as the winner is usually asked to do her first walk, asked a question or perform a speech, after the coronation; in some cases, the host(s) of the show also closes the event.

Also, please refrain from replying with un-called for comments, such as your comment "You need to learn more grammar" which is rather improper. This serves as a first warning on this topic for you. Thanks.

Color Keys

edit

The color keys are needed for countries that have won in all four pageant competitions: Venezuela, Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Brazil, since there are color keys for the runners-up, finalists, and semifinalists, there should be a clear color key indicating the winners from these competitions from these four countries. Do not generalize content format; these four countries need the additional color keys as they have produced winners across the board, in all four pageants.

A principle of Wikipedia is to broaden and expand articles, as well as facilitate easy reading and use for users, especially the new ones. Why would you disallow a color key indicator system that would facilitate these?

I have tried reasoning and discussing with you to no avail. I have raised these concerns to incidents' noticeboard and edit warring resolution, since you have continuously insisted on your edits without valid reason nor RS.

I am nightenbelle- a mediator on the WP:DRN. I am copying a message here explaining why the dispute you are involved in was closed. I want you to be informed that I will be watching the article and the talk page and any further edit warring or non-assumptions of good faith will result in those involved brought to the WP:ANI. You need to stop edit waring and engage in discussion.

I'm closing this because the discussion on the talk page hasn't really been a discussion. One of the editors reverting has refused to engage on the talk page, so there is no reason to believe they would engage here. Also- While two sources have been provided for the inclusion of the material.... there are also WP:RS that support another candidate having won this award that year, [1] and this seems to be a behavior issue in that the editors are having a slow edit war rather than discuss on the talk page. So- I'm going to do this instead- Lukewon (talk · contribs) and Nguyenquochieu2107 (talk · contribs) both of you are to stop making accusations in your edit summaries and on the talk page, both of you are to start discussing your reasons and sources on the talk page- and neither of you are to edit the article until you reach a decision. IF after YOU BOTH engage on the talk page- you still can't find a solution, you may return here, or open an WP:3o OR WP:RFC any of the three- pick the one you think most appropriate. However, if you continue to revert without discussion- I will take this to the ANI because it will become a behavior issue if you don't start discussing the issue rather than a slow edit war.
