Your request for rollback
editHi Krenair. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! CharlieEchoTango (contact) 00:47, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

editPlease be more careful when reverting with huggle. This revert meant that you added back in some defamatory information about the article subject and the user trying to remove it had to come into the IRC help channel to get it removed. Just be a little more careful in future, thanks. OohBunnies! Leave a message :) 01:08, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, sorry. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 01:17, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
- Just for your information, it could not had been defamatory, or defamation, in the eyes of the law, in any part of the United Kingdom or in the Republic of Ireland, if the subject had already been dead and deceased. — KC9TV 01:07, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
Imidacloprid. And imidacloprid and bees
editHello, I do not want to be disruptive and I want to collaborate. Every change I make they revert. Their story is one sided and extreme. Certainly not neutral. Imidacloprid and bees is not about water. Yet they quote a partial paragraph In a document that in the same paragraph says it is safe and does not leach.
I added a viable quote about trees and bees and they take it out. He just reverts. Please tell me what I can do as I work with this material, know a lot about it, and find it very upsetting to have them trash this.
Also while some of their info is accurate. They do not allow the US govt reports and university experts who say this issue is about monoculture, mites, disease, and the fact these are artificial man made hives that are sprayed purposely with pesticides to kill parasites.
This material is 100 times safer than the toxins it replaced. It is currently saving 100's of thousands of trees from EMerald ash borer, Asian long horned borer, hemlock wholly Adelaide, and others.
Thank you. I will not edit war and want to be a neutral and collaborative; which I was able to establish with Gandy on imidacloprid. Looking forward to your response. Treeguyenvironmentalist (talk) 17:41, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Sandbox
editI see you have reverted edits to both the sandbox and its subsequent talk sandbox. Don't revert changes to these (notably blankings). The bot will restore the headers. People can write and delete whatever they want on those pages (as long as its not disruptive or offensive). Calabe1992 20:22, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
- I noticed the bot was fixing it sometimes but it seemed quite slow so I went ahead and restored the header myself. Wasn't aware I was supposed to completely ignore blankings on that page. Noted, thanks. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 20:24, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hang on a minute, you did exactly the same thing... --Krenair (talk • contribs) 20:35, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
- I reverted them because without the header, their text was misleading (DO NOT RESTORE, IT WILL REMAIN BLANK FOR TODAY). They were deliberately removing the header to make the page appear broken. Calabe1992 21:17, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
- I thought you said that should be left to the bot. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 21:20, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

- Krenair, I see no reason you shouldn't clean up the sand box. Sometimes doing so is very useful, and at the worst it is doing something which would have been done by a bot soon, so nothing has been lost except a minute of your time. I don't understand why anyone would object. Also, I would have thought that if "People can write and delete whatever they want on those pages", then that includes you cleaning it up if you want to. JamesBWatson (talk) 18:51, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker)James, what I was originally referring to was something like this, where a Huggle reversion to the Sandbox was made (sorry I wasn't specific before). Doing so will generate a warning on the user's talk page, which doesn't really apply here (unless, of course, you use the revert/no warn button). I generally do not revert the Sandbox using Huggle unless someone has made an offensive or other unacceptable edit. Calabe1992 01:43, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, that puts a very different light on the matter, Krenair. In fact on this occasion the Huggle edit produced not just a talk page warning, but a report at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism, which was certainly not appropriate for an edit which consisted simply of emptying the sanddbox. The problem here was not reverting the sandbox, but rather inappropriate use of Huggle. When you revert with Huggle, if you use the big red button on the left with an exclamation mark, then Huggle will usually automatically produce a talk page warning or a report at AIV. However, there are other ways of using Huggle. For example, you can use the smaller red button further to the right to avoid automatic messages, or you can click on the little downward pointing triangle immediately next to the big red button to customise the messaging. It is essential to stop and think when using Huggle. It is not good enough to simply see that a page has been blanked, and click on the big button without a further thought: rather, it is necessary to consider each case, and make an intelligent assessment as to whether the blanking should be reverted, and if so whether a warning message on the user's talk page is appropriate. Checking each time in this way slows down the use of Huggle considerably, but it is essential to do so. You are just as responsible for your edits when using automated tools as when editing manually. In this case reverting the sandbox edit was harmless or even slightly helpful, but the AIV report was totally wrong. JamesBWatson (talk) 08:37, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
- So I understand now that reverting blankings of the sandbox is pointless and warning/reporting for it is wrong. As for my thought process before clicking the button, I can assure you it wasn't simply that I noticed the page had been blanked. I'm also already quite familiar with what most of Huggle's buttons do. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 15:27, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

Hello,
There are 4 external references of notability in the reference section and there is only a single un-biased descriptor.
I'd like to ask why you have reapplied warnings that are not helpful to the Victim of Xen article and also inappropriate.
Sincerely,
--Smolders (talk) 23:37, 3 April 2012 (UTC) Sam
Because it has significant coverage from only two of the sources. One of which isn't reliable. You should also explain in edit summaries why you are removing such tags. They're not supposed to be helpful to the article, but to editors. They're also completely appropriate. Please do not add messages to the top of my talk page, use the 'New section' button. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 23:50, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
Hello,
That was not a duplicate link that you removed. Amaranth Games and Aldorlea Games are two different organizations that are significant within the rpg ingie gaming niche. You can even view their Wikipedia articles. Please revert back the references, because Smolders can not add games to those website (the must be added by Amaranth Games and Aldorlea Games themselves). The sources are all regular contributors to independent gaming and I'm not sure how you can say they are unreliable.
Furthermore, the vested interest doesn't make those warnings appropriate. The article itself is entirely unbiased an unpromotional. Warnings like that deter and disrespect the credability of an article, that would otherwise be taken as it is.
There's no call for either warning considering the neutrality and citations.
Sincerely,
--Smolders (talk) 00:02, 4 April 2012 (UTC) Sam
Actually it sort of was. The URL provided for the duplicate reference was http://www.indiegamemag.com/victim-of-xen-review-female-fantasy. If you check the article then you'll see that the URL occured twice. The second of which is correct because it bears the correct date and title. I think you put the wrong URL for the one I removed. As for the notability template, I'm not sure anymore, and I'd like to avoid being involved in a dispute over it. I'll wait to see what the person who originally added it (Breawycker) says. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 00:25, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
Hello,
Thanks for bringing that to my attention! I'll get the proper link up right away!
Sincerely,
--Smolders (talk) 01:04, 4 April 2012 (UTC) Sam
Krenair,
Bwilkins is abusing administration powers by deleting the article, "Victim of Xen" despite it's significance (citations, neutrality, quality, etc). Can you please me in keeping Wikipedia, and Bwilkins, informed about the infraction?
Sam Smolders (talk) 13:51, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
I can't do anything about it. Even if I could I wouldn't necessarily agree that it was abusive. Please politely take it up with Bwilkins, or see WP:DRV.--Krenair (talk • contribs) 13:59, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
Krenair,
This is untrue! You, as an entity, have the power to discover truth and influence decision (others). If you feel that the Bwilkins' action was justified, then please explain your reasoning, so that you may improve me (odd choice of words, maybe, but that's how it is). If you feel, as I, that the article contained real information (RE: The citations and further improvement of facts), then I encourage you to mention this to Bwilkins for the same reason we are speaking.
Sam Smolders (talk) 15:21, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
I can't find out what the contents of the article were when it was deleted. I therefore can't decide whether it was justified or not. I did ask #wikipedia-en earlier, and an admin said "Technically software doesn't fall under A7. However, that article wouldn't get saved at AFD and I think it's be beaurocratic to restore it." --Krenair (talk • contribs) 15:30, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
Krenair,
The article was the same as when you viewed it ("Victim of Xen is a role-playing video game...etc") with the same citations.
I added "It has been noted for it's gender-swap story." and moved those two review citations down next to that (since that's the first thing those sources talk about).
Shortly before it was deleted, I was working to display the basic cover art image.
Sincerely,
UK isn't authoritarian.

editHi Krenair, why have your reverted my edits to the Square Kilometre Array page? I'm not sure I understand the protocol here. I altered some inacurate content and deleted some biased information to keep the page neutral. Skatelescope (talk) 15:50, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
- Just a disinterested observer here. Several editors have reverted you. Firstly you've been removing substantial content without either using an edit summary to explain the removal or discussing what amount to major changes on the article talk page first. Secondly your edits appear to be removing negative views of the project and adding positive ones. Given your user name suggests you are associated with the project there is a concern that you have a conflict of interest and are using Wikipedia to promote the organisation. Congratulations
editHi Krenair. First of all, congratulations on you becoming a bureaucrat on MediaWiki. I expect that your extra duties there may be the reason I have'nt heard from you in over a month. I hope it is nothing more serious than that. I assume that you have User_talk:Jschnur/CVUA on your watchlist and that you are aware that I'm waiting for your next post to that page. If you are too busy to continue with your CVUA instructing please let me know. Regards. Jschnur (talk) 00:08, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry I haven't been around for a while, I've been having trouble with my internet connection, been on holiday, at friends' houses, and have generally been a bit busy over the past month. I'm sorry I didn't notice your post on your CVUA page, it seems I didn't get an email about it (I just checked "E-mail me when a page or file on my watchlist is changed" in my preferences though, so I shouldn't miss an edit there again). --Krenair (talk • contribs) 00:33, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
- I totally understand. Please don't take my concern as impatience. We are all volunteers and give our time when and if we are able to. My own contributions wax and wane depending on circumstance. I hope you enjoyed your holiday. As far as CVUA is concerned, I hope I have improved in your eyes. I certainly try to AGF more than in the past and I have been taking more interest in new page patrolling. I am also taking a greater interest in the higher standards required for BLPs. Still making mistakes of course but sometimes my bad reverts result in engagement with editors that ultimately lead to pleasing outcomes. The important thing is to apologise when you get it wrong and to encourage users to keep contributing constructively. Cheers. Jschnur (talk) 01:13, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

It triggers for a large number of people, so I suspect it is just that the voting software has trouble interpreting all browser/connection settings. Thanks for confirming. editHello, and thank you for removing vandalism from J. R. Smith. This is much appreciated, but unfortunately your repair was not successful in restoring the article to its pre-vandalised state. For future reference, it is better to deal with vandalism by checking the article's page history to determine how it appeared before it was vandalised. You can then restore the whole article, or the relevant part of it, to an appropriate earlier version. If you simply delete the visible vandalism then any content removed or overwritten by the vandal is lost. See How to deal with vandalism for details. Thank you. Blah blah, template. Just giving you a heads up that you reverted to a vandalised version. 930913(Congratulate) 17:10, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
Would you be willing to give jsMessage a second parameter, so it has an id/class we can use to hide it via CSS? πr2 (t • c) 23:35, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- Not really because jsMessage is deprecated, VisualEditor should be using mw.notify. Maybe you should ask Krinkle. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 23:50, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- It seems VE will be showing normal PostEdit notifications when https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/69855/ and https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/69856/ are deployed, which can be hidden by existing CSS. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 00:14, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
Huggle 3
editHey Krenair! I am Petrb, one of core developers of Huggle, the antivandalism tool, which you are beta testing (according to https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers). I am happy to announce that Huggle 3 is ready for some testing. You can read more about it at WP:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta. Please keep in mind that this is a development version and it is not ready for regular use. That means you must:
- Watch your contribs - when anything happens you didn't want, fix it and report a bug
- Frequently checkout source code and build latest version, we change it a lot
If you find any problem with a feature that is supposed to work perfectly, please let us know. Some features are not ready yet, it is listed in known problems on Huggle3 beta page, you don't need to report these - we know it! So, that's it. Have fun testing and please let us know about any problems, either using bugzilla @ http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/ or #huggle connect. Please respond to my talk page, I am not going to watch your talk page. Thank you Petrb (talk) 10:57, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
Huggle 3 beta is out - and we need more feedback!
editHey Krenair, how are you? I am Petrb, one of huggle developers, and you are currently subscribed as a beta tester of huggle on meta (meta:Huggle/Members. You may not have noticed, but this week I released first beta precompiled installers for ubuntu and microsoft windows! Wikipedia:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta has all the links you need. So if you can, please download it, test it and report all bugs that is really what we need now. Don't forgot that as it's just a beta it's unstable and there are some known issues. Be carefull! Thank you for helping us with huggle Petrb (talk) 16:21, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
Elton John's TIny Dancer page
editI recently attempted (twice) to modify the wiki page for Elton John's Tiny Dancer, because it has an error. The page mentions that the song references Billy Joel in a line ("Piano man..."), but this seems impossible; Tiny Dancer was released two years before Piano Man was. So the trivia seems impossible (how would Bernie Taupin reference a song from the future?). Even cursory research on wikipedia backs this up.
How can I go about changing the page so that the inaccurate trivia is removed?
Thanks.
96.236.228.180 (talk) 20:33, 16 March 2014 (UTC)matt rob
- Rather than adding "even though Piano Man was not released until 1973, two years in the future. This clearly suggests that Sir Elton John is in fact a Time Lord", I would remove the text that is wrong, providing an explanation in the edit summary. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 17:37, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
We need your help testing latest huggle
editHello,
I am sending you this message because you listed yourself on meta:Huggle/Members as a beta tester. We desperately need attention of testers, because since we resolved all release blockers, we are ready to release first official version of huggle 3! Before that happens, it would be nice if you could test it so that we can make sure there are no issues with it. You can download it packaged for your operating system (see Wikipedia:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta) or you can of course build it yourself, see https://github.com/huggle/huggle3-qt-lx for that. Don't forget to use always latest version, there is no auto-update message for beta versions!
Should you find any issue, please report it to wikimedia bugzilla, that is a central place for huggle bugs, where we look at them. That is i mportant, if you find a bug and won't report it, we can't fix it. Thank you for your work on this, if you have any questions, please send me a message on my talk page, I won't be looking for responses here. Thanks, Petrb (talk) 15:13, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

New huggle 3.1 is going to be released soon
editHi Krenair, we are to release a new major version of huggle, but we did receive almost no feedback from our beta testing team, which you are a part of (see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members). It would be of a great help if you could download it (if you have windows, all you need to do is getting http://tools.wmflabs.org/huggle/files/huggle3.1.0beta.exe and putting it to a folder where you have installed huggle) and test it. You can always get a help with making it @ #huggle connect!
Major changes:
- Multisite support - you can now log in to unlimited number of wikis in 1 huggle session and get a huge queue of all edits made to these wikis. This is good for smaller projects which gets overlooked often.
- Ranged diffs - you can select multiple revisions and get a huge diff that display all changes done to them.
- Fixes of most of bug reports we had so far
In case you found a bug, please report it to bugzilla: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/buglist.cgi?product=Huggle&list_id=147663 thank you! Petrb (talk) 10:11, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
{{bare urls}}
editHi, User:Krenair, your userpage states you are a MediaWiki developer. Do you know why the {{bare urls}} does what it does?. Thank you for your time. Lotje (talk) 05:54, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Lotje. I'm very confused about your linking to the Tool labs page... I thought you were talking about a specific wikitext template on a specific wiki (presumably English Wikipedia since you're here), rather than an external tool? Either way, I am a MediaWiki developer, we don't write those things (they are made by users on each individual wiki, rather than being part of our software), and I don't understand your question anyway. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 16:51, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
- It was a wonderful tool, the template not only evoked the text This article uses bare URLs for citations, which may be threatened by link rot. Please consider adding full citations so that the article remains verifiable. Several templates are available to assist in formatting etc... it simply did it! Amazing and very, very exciting. Sorry to read I confused you, also I was not aware at of the fact the Tool lab was not part of your magic at MediaWiki. I wish it was! Sorry also for having bothered you. But thanks anyway. Wooly Mammoth template edit
editI only removed the obscene language; I tried to revert to the correct syntax but it had been edited so many times in the past with vandalism it was difficult to determine what the proper syntax was. I emailed the Wiki team to notify them of the issue. Breaking the template was obviously not my goal; it was already broken when I got to it and was not displaying properly to begin with. Herefordnuthouse (talk) 21:46, 24 October 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, sorry about that. I actually found that page because of the email. In future, please take a look at the history of the page so you can revert it properly (you just need to find the last good revision and edit it really). --Krenair (talk • contribs) 23:26, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

Huggle message
editHey Krenair! You are receiving this message because you are subscribed at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers
I have recently launched a new downloads for beta testers that contains nightly builds of huggle, eg. versions that are built every day from our master branch and contains latest huggle. These builds are currently provided only for Windows and Ubuntu. You can find them here: http://huggle.wmflabs.org/builds/
Please keep in mind that these don't have any automatic updates and if you download and start using nightly build, you will need to update it yourself! So don't get yourself to running old version, it's possible to install both stable and nightly huggle, which is what I suggest.
Keep the bug reports coming to phabricator: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/task/create/?projects=Huggle Many thanks! Petrb (talk) 09:58, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Phabricator use
editHi, as an occasional user of Phabricator who's never entirely sure how it works, I greatly appreciated reading mw:User:Krenair/Phabricator projects. One question I'm very curious about, that it doesn't address: What are the negative consequences of tickets that are "undiscovered"? I.e., if I enter a bug for something, and there are no regular Phabricator users who are well-positioned to take action, what's the downside? What's the impact of clutter -- or are there other issues? -Pete (talk) 01:50, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- Great to hear that my page was useful, thanks. :) The downside is that it's likely no one watching Phabricator will be able to help you with the ticket. I'd rather we didn't get more of such tickets which are only going to sit around and achieve nothing (the number of open tasks goes up a few hundred almost every month, it's always felt demotivating to me), but the number itself is not the real issue here. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 03:33, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick reply. Could you elaborate a little? From my perspective (as somebody filing a bug), I'm fairly used to ad hoc communities. While I might want a timely response, I don't expect one, any more than I expect a talk page message on a rarely-viewed Wikipedia article to get a timely response. Documenting a needed task in a structurally sensible place is what I'm looking to do; and if it doesn't get a response, I can always take other steps to draw attention to it (if needed). When I do that, having the bug to point to is useful.
- So from my perspective, it's not at all a case of "achieving nothing." But, to get back to my original question -- what is the impact of having hundreds more open tasks? Are we at risk of stretching the technical limits of Phabricator? Or does it become more difficult to find the bugs that are of interest in some way that I'm not seeing? -Pete (talk) 16:46, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- I doubt most users see it that way. No, we're not stretching the technical limits of Phabricator in that way as far as I know (there are other limits of Phabricator we're pushing but that's another subject). The fact that we keep having more tasks open is bad because it means that we must be falling behind on many things that need doing. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 20:30, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- Well, it's difficult to know what most users think, without polling them; but I'm not sure if that's the right question. If a user enters a bug, I think it is reasonable (and respectful) to start from the assumption that they had a reason for doing so. Perhaps it is worthwhile to point out to an inexperienced Phabricator user when it is unlikely their ticket will generate a response on its own. But closing a ticket does nothing to address the underlying problem that the user may not know how to get attention to the issue; it merely removes one possible avenue that could be one component of an effort to generate that attention. (Please note also, in this particular case, my tickets were in fact helpful in getting the issues addressed, despite your belief they would not be.) -Pete (talk) 19:19, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
- Closing such tickets without explaining that it's the wrong forum is probably a bad idea, yes. Phabricator is not a support forum and should not be used as such to find the correct forum. I think you may have just been lucky with your ticket. In any case, Phabricator should not be considered open for generic requests for gadgets not limited to the scope of a single identifiable piece of code with a relevant maintainer actively monitoring tickets. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 20:34, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
- Also -- thank you for clarifying the issue of pushing the technical limits. I suspected that was not the case, but wasn't sure. I don't know much about how Phabricator looks from a technical perspective, or from the perspective of someone like an engineer or product manager trying to track and complete tasks. Speaking as an end user, I have found Phabricator useful mainly in this way: it creates an incentive to think about what is an achievable, specific task that would address problems I encounter. And once I have documented such a task, it helps me to communicate about it with others (in seeking help through other channels, etc.) -Pete (talk) 19:29, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

editI noticed you restored the page after content was deleted, but I would like the page to be deleted as the content does not follow guidelines. How is it possible to delete the entire page? Iincandela (talk) 16:35, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
- To propose an article for deletion, you will need good reason. For example, articles may be deleted if the subject is not notable. If you have been the subject of non-trivial coverage in multiple, reliable, independent sources, the article is unlikely to be deleted. (For how we establish notability, please see WP:N.)
- If you believe that you are not notable enough, you may propose that the article be deleted on those grounds. To do so, follow the steps outlined at WP:AFDHOWTO. It appears from your username that you may be the subject - if so, please add to your proposal that you are the article subject, that you regard yourself as a non-notable, private person, and that you want the article to be deleted. It may help you to read our deletion policy at WP:DP.
- If, on the other hand, you believe that the article contains falsehoods, you can ask that it be changed. As I wrote above, if you are the subject then please identify yourself as the subject and request corrections on the talk page. You should avoid editing the article yourself; doing so would create a conflict of interest.
- Wikipedia articles are not created or controlled by a central authority but by our community of volunteer editors. They will ultimately decide whether the article about you is retained, or whether to accept any proposed changes. The links above will help you to participate in that process. If you are still confused after reviewing those links, please let me know.

Upcoming changes to wikitext parsing
editHello,
There will be some changes to the way wikitext is parsed during the next few weeks. It will affect all namespaces. You can see a list of pages that may display incorrectly at Special:LintErrors. Since most of the easy problems have already been solved at the English Wikipedia, I am specifically contacting tech-savvy editors such as yourself with this one-time message, in the hope that you will be able to investigate the remaining high-priority pages during the next month.
There are approximately 10,000 articles (and many more non-article pages) with high-priority errors. The most important ones are the articles with misnested tags and table problems. Some of these involve templates, such as infoboxes, or the way the template is used in the article. In some cases, the "error" is a minor, unimportant difference in the visual appearance. In other cases, the results are undesirable. You can see a before-and-after comparison of any article by adding ?action=parsermigration-edit to the end of a link, like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Foss?action=parsermigration-edit (which shows a difference in how {{infobox ship}} is parsed).
If you are interested in helping with this project, please see Wikipedia:Linter. There are also some basic instructions (and links to even more information) at https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-ambassadors/2018-April/001836.html You can also leave a note at WT:Linter if you have questions.

- Oh I see, I just assumed it would display a UI. Turns out it's just a deployment of Zotero translation-server,
curl -d 'https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/11/technology/net-neutrality-repeal.html' -H 'Content-Type: text/plain' https://tools.wmflabs.org/translation-server/web -v
etc work. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 01:09, 24 January 2020 (UTC)- Many thanks. AManWithNoPlan (talk) 01:16, 24 January 2020 (UTC)

petscan-issue (Gateway timeout)
editHi,
you are shown as the last one, who restarted petscan (April 4). petscan is again showing gateway timeout for quite some days. Can you restart the cluster again? I have so far had no success trying to contact the administrators Magnus Manske or Andrew Bogott, so I hope you can help.
NB: there seems to be some fundamental issue with the petscan installation. How can an investigation into the petscan software be initiated?
Greetings from Germany --Wikipeter-HH (talk) 10:12, 30 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Wikipeter-HH: Hi, Andrew Bogott is a Wikimedia Cloud VPS admin, he is unlikely to know anything about this particular service running on top of Cloud VPS. I'm afraid Magnus needs to be responsive to the maintenance needs of his service or it should not keep running. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 18:44, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
