Namaskar. There was no "phallic" in the festival sentence. Some anon user had added it as vandalism [1], but went unnoticed for a long time. Even I didn't notice the last time I edited. Your edits were highly constructive. I didn't mean to call your work as vandalism. Please let me know if you need any help on editing on wikipedia. User page

edit

FYI - you might want to create a user page for yourself, even if it's essentially empty. Right now, links to your name show up in red (no user page), which is often a marker for throw-away accounts. That's evidently not the case for you, but your edits probably get increased scrutiny looking for vandalism. Tarl.Neustaedter (talk) 19:32, 13 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Swami Vivekananda

edit

Namaste and thank you for your recent contributions at Ramakrishna Mission and Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. Currently I am working in User:Titodutta/Swami Vivekananda's 150th birth anniversary celebration initiatives. I have worked in Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar articles too. Unfortunately that did not work well because of lack of sources. We have created Atmano mokshartham jagat hitaya cha very recently, right now we are creating User:Titodutta/Bahujana hitaya bahujana sukhaya cha. Do you know in which part of Veda this dictum was mentioned? And could you help finding answers of few Vivekananda related question? You can post at my talk page clicking here. Regarding Sheldrake

edit

Hi. Thanks for your advice. Despite what it might seem I am experienced in Wiki editing it's just the wikias that I've edited never required references so much. In regards to your points.

  • The books appear in a gameplay/puzzle section of the game so I can't think of many other places that would reference their existence however I am sure many people have uploaded the contents of the game to youtube. Would a youtube video showing the books presences be acceptable as a reference?
  • A link to Sheldrake's page is present on the Nine Persons Nine Hours Nine Doors page however it's linked under the redirect morphic resonance. A see also might also be beneficial though.
  • I have actually had this wikipedia account for years but I don't actively use it. I only infrequently edit when ever I read pages myself and noticed something is wrong or missing. I don't intend to seriously start editing wikipedia anytime soon so I'm fine with my userpage being nonexistent for now. It's only a mild inconvenience for the rare times I do edit.

Once again thanks for your help. Cillian flood (talk) 15:13, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Philatelic magazine

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Philatelic magazine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Passengerpigeon (talk) 11:17, 30 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello Dada, looking for new sources for the above lemma in the german wikipedia, I found this edit from you. You copied something of the german lemma into this lemma. Victorian Premier's Literary Awards categories

edit

The best way to categorize an award that has multiple articles.. create a master category for the award eg. Category:Victorian Premier's Literary Awards then place the sub-articles into that cat (such as the Fiction and Nonfiction articles) then place this master cat into the Australian literary awards category. Hope that makes sense, there are other award examples, regards -- GreenC 00:45, 8 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi BeenAroundAWhile. When the "East of Borneo (magazine)" article exists as its own title, then the redirect will be overwritten-until then it's better than nothing, in my view. DadaNeem (talk) 20:11, 4 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi, DadaNeem, there is a section of the Wikipedia Manual of Style that reminds us not to put wikilinks to other articles in direct quotations from published sources. Wikilinks of course can be helpful in article text written by Wikipedians like you and me, but also watch out for the guidelines in WP:OVERLINK for what kinds of wikilinks to put into article text. See you on the wiki. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (Watch my talk, How I edit) 14:05, 18 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

you dont archive your talk page? IBRA has its own article - as a consequence your further reading is redundant - the link to IBRA is more relevant... up to you, but, JarrahTree 07:54, 30 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

sorry didnt meant to be deliberately obscure - yes - rather than putting a ref - I was thinking a link to the page might be better IBRA

as for archive, create same as my archiving occured a day or so ago - check my recent edits - and dada! you have it. basically creating a page your user name/archive - cutting all out of this page and pasting in it... thats one way to do it JarrahTree 23:16, 2 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi, DadaNeem, I see you have been a busy contributor here for a long time. Thanks. I just thought I'd let you know that some wikilinking you did recently disregarded the rule of NOT putting wikilinks into direct quotations from sources. I know you meant well, but the Manual of Style section on linking advises "As much as possible, avoid linking from within quotes, which may clutter the quotation, violate the principle of leaving quotations unchanged, and mislead or confuse the reader". See you on the wiki. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (Watch my talk, How I edit) 23:14, 5 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks WeijiBaikeBianji-I try to be helpful, as I'm sure we all do here on Wikipedia. It has been pointed out to me before about adding wikilinks in direct quotations but as you also quote, "As much as possible, avoid linking from within quotes" and that's what I try to do. I wikilink where something is unambiguous ie a name, book etc where it will potentially aid the reader to understand the quote and the barest minimum, not everything in sight, which I might do in normal text. I think that's useful. May I respectfully suggest that the Manual of Style is not a rulebook, but a manual of guidelines. If I overstep the mark, I would appreciate some specific feedback and will take it on board.

btw I like that you are putting attention on Richard Feynman. I attended his Douglas Robb Memorial Lectures when I was an undergrad in 1979 at University of Auckland. His work and style has been an inspiration to me. Take care.DadaNeem (talk) 23:50, 6 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, Legalization of sex work

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Legalization of sex work. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Decriminalizing sex work. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Decriminalizing sex work – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. LoudLizard (📞 | contribs | ) 20:18, 12 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello DadaNeem, I've found a problem with an edit of yours to K'àak' Chi' as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Doug Weller talk 18:21, 11 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

The specific edit was this one which added " Satellite images imply the existence of an ancient city with a large pyramid and thirty buildings. If the find is confirmed, it would be the fourth largest Mayan city in existence." That last bit is directly from the source, which says "If the find is confirmed, it would be the fourth largest Mayan city in existence." Not a big thing but I don't know if there's more like that. Frankly I think it's trivia as it's extremely unlikely and doesn't belong in the article. Doug Weller talk 18:25, 11 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thankyou Doug for taking the time to look at my edit-I agree when you say it's not a big thing, not extensive: there is one sentence that I have used from the Buzz article-I couldn't think of a better way to express it-can you? I didn't put it in quotes as I don't normally do that with journalists reporting. Quotes from books, statements from well known persons, yes. I make a point of rephrasing sources in my own words so I don't believe there is a problem with my edits in general-you are welcome to check that. I do not consider myself a plagiarist-I'm not that lazy. That you consider "If the find is confirmed..." trivia is another issue isn't it?

In any case, I was wondering what had happened since to this discovery, but had forgotten the names-thanks for the reminder of the title :-) DadaNeem (talk) 09:20, 12 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the reply. Looking at it again, I think the main problem is that by not quoting it it appears that Wikipedia is stating this as fact, and I'm not convinced yet that the whole bit about satellite images implying such a large ancient city is correct. But maybe you've found material about the satellite images that I haven't seen. Doug Weller talk 11:21, 12 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Foundation Center

edit

I have removed some of the content you added to the above article, as it appears to have been copied from http://www.issuelab.org/about, a copyright web page. All content you add to Wikipedia must be written in your own words. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you think I made a mistake. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:43, 16 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for pointing that out Diannaa. I rewrote the 2nd sentence and copied the rest-perhaps I should have applied some token rewriting. Somehow I think the Foundation Center won't mind as it draws attention to their work. Rather some others might say it's blatant advertising. However I think it communicates something about Foundation better than before my edit. I have no interest either way, just to expand Wikipedia's coverage. Perhaps the policy is outdated? What say you? DadaNeem (talk) 00:48, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sorry but the policy is not negotiable nor is it outdated. I realise that we are stricter than many other editable websites such as Facebook or LinkedIn, but we do so intentionally. Speedy deletion nomination of Francis Huxley

edit

Hello DadaNeem,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Francis Huxley for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

Astrid Lindgren

edit

Hello, Dada Neem - I just saw your edits to Astrid Lindgren, including the addition of a hidden note to editors in this edit. I'm pretty sure I was the one who added the hidden note to editors pointing out some unclear spots in October 2015. It looks like you have clarified the language at several points. If you feel you have resolved the issues, please feel free to remove the hidden notes, not just in this article but in any article. Just delete the text of the hidden note (and any "clarification needed" template), and click "Save". There is no need to respond and add to the hidden note, to say that the issues have been cleared up (and, even if you wanted to add to the note, you don't have to put your user name in the hidden note; it will be in the revision history). Thanks for working on the article! Best regards,  – Corinne (talk) 00:22, 20 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello, again. I see you've removed the tag and the hidden notes that are no longer necessary. However, I should apologize; I should have looked at your user page before I wrote my note to you. If I had, I would have seen that you are an experienced editor and you probably knew all about removing no-longer-needed tags and notes. I'm impressed by how may edits you have made, almost 50,000! I'm surprised I never came across your user name until today. Since I hadn't, I kind of assumed, mistakenly, that you were a relatively new editor. So, sorry about that! Former Kentish Schools

edit

Hi. There is no requirement that every school ever built should be mentioned somewhere on WP. See WP:NOTDIR. CalzGuy (talk) 04:54, 26 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Yes, but there's no requirement for anything on WP-WP:NOTDIR doesn't say anything about schools. There are other such lists that have closed schools listed eg Robbinsdale_Area_Schools#Closed_Schools, List_of_schools_in_the_Wellington_Region#Closed_schools, even List of closed schools in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York so there are precedents. DadaNeem (talk) 13:29, 26 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make a list of closed schools somewhere be my guest. But the list you edited is not a list of closed schools. It, and its companion list articles, do not mention closed schools. CalzGuy (talk) 21:28, 26 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Yet {{Schools in Kent}} has a section for "Defunct schools" and there is [[Category:Defunct schools in Kent]]. The logical action for me seems to be to make a section at the bottom of List of schools in Kent#Defunct schools where schools with wp pages (11 according to the template) & without wp pages could be listed. Refs could be required where there is no wp page. DadaNeem (talk) 23:41, 26 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

That is not logical! CalzGuy (talk) 07:00, 27 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Excuse me, what is the problem? Please be specific! DadaNeem (talk) 07:16, 27 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
That is not a logical conclusion/progression. See WP:INDISCRIMINATE. None of the other "Lists of schools in ..." articles in England includes defunct schools. Navboxes always have. You want to add something to a list becuase someone somewjhere else has created another list. That is not logical. The examples you have produced are not examples like the original list you added to. Not logical. Yes, some defunct schools are mentioned in certain places, but those that are mentioned generally already have their own articles. The others are generally mentioned in a "List of defunct schools in ..." type article. I'm quite happy for you to create such a list if you want. But adding a defunct and externally linked school entry to a list of current schools is a non-starter. CalzGuy (talk) 10:22, 27 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

But is it Cricket?

edit

Hi DadaNeem, nice to meet another rational person. You are making some changes to the Cornwall Cricket Club or is it the Cornwall Park Cricket Club. Depends whether you look at the infobox or the name of the article. Do you know how to establish the correct legal name and can you provide a nice photo of the facilities / players etc. Regards, Eddaido (talk) 09:27, 6 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi Eddaido. Thanks for your kind words. Your comments on Cornwall Cricket Club are pertinent

  • It is self identified as Cornwall Cricket Club but also as Cornwall Districts Cricket Association, Cornwall Cricket ...[3]
  • I'll see about a photo. The NZ Club champs are finishing the season there tomorrow. If I have a chance I'll get a photo or 2 or ask someone to provide. I'm a bit out of touch with Cornwall having "retired" 30 years ago!
  • I have a club history published a few years ago. The article could certainly be expanded and is quite notable. Are you looking to help?

All the best DadaNeem (talk) 02:01, 8 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

I found this prob maybe 12 months back because at that time if you sought Cornwall Park Auckland in WP you found no more than this cricket club. I wrote an article (not good enough) about Cornwall Park and changed the name of the cricket club article to as it is now. To do that I got involved with the Cornwall Park administration. I can talk to them on Monday and see what they think is its common name and I presume it is something like an incorporated society or whatever, maybe admin can give me that name too. When I have their thoughts I will bring them back here for consideration.
Really only want to avoid WP telling lies rather than expand the article about the cricket club. Yes, if you can come up with a good clear photo that would be really great. Best, Eddaido (talk) 05:54, 8 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Still can't talk to them because instead of coming back my voice has now gone even further away but I have not forgotten. Eddaido (talk) 22:56, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
(very hoarsely) Have established correct legal name and redrafted the item. No luck with the photo? Best, Eddaido (talk) 12:24, 24 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi DadaNeem - I notice you have added a batch of links to the article List of Martin Gardner Mathematical Games columns. I generally think this is not a good idea. I addressed this issue once before. See my note at To link or not to link. A general observation is that articles about math always contain a lot of special terms. For example, we could link the words, rectangle, square, line, number, proof, geometry, calculus, Gauss, Newton, relativitiy, and so on and on and on. But is such overlinking a good idea? Would you consider reverting some of your recent links?--Toploftical (talk) 02:27, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi Toploftical. I would revert those that are obvious, such as those you suggested but I generally don't do that kind of linking, did I? I personally think it makes the article more interesting to link to abstruse articles, that in turn probably get less traffic. I will reply in more detail later. DadaNeem (talk) 04:53, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
At a glance I'd say rectangle, square could be revert candidates. Would you agree or add to that? DadaNeem (talk) 04:56, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hi DadaNeem - sorry it took so long to get back to this.
If you look at Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Linking#Overlinking_and_underlinking you will see the statement that the following Everyday words understood by most readers in context are not usually linked. Thus, I believe that the following recently added links should be removed:
Would you be OK with one of us removing these links? --Toploftical (talk) 14:51, 4 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Best management practice

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Best management practice, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for Deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discusion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Redirects

edit

Although we disagree about the usefulness of redirects from surname-first versions of names, looking at your contribution list showed me that you're creating lots of really useful redirects. It's good to see, as I don't think there are many of us who bother creating redirects from all the plausible versions of a name etc. Thanks, and Happy New Year. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Stars on 45 (song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Medley (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

A couple things...

edit

Hi, I noticed you added the race/ethnicity of the person the Navy ship USS Pinckney was name for. I was just curious as to why? I haven't noticed this as a typical addition to these article's, unless the person's (race/ethnicity/gender/sexuality/ect.) was a relevant factor (eg: Samuel L. Gravely Jr. & USS Gravely (DDG-107) or Lenah Higbee & USS Lenah H. Sutcliffe Higbee (DDG-123), etc.).

The other thing I wanted to mention, (well... suggest really), was this, I thought you might it useful. Thanks - theWOLFchild 03:37, 16 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the observations. I'm glad to finally get round to reply ;). I made the USS Pinkney addition because (as I recall) I considered it notable that a non combat African American was being acknowledged in this way. It would have been even more notable 55 years earlier. I plan to do the archiving ASAP. Thanks for the eyes-up! DadaNeem (talk) 22:27, 6 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi. The information reported there are the names of Kuipers' assistant referees who assist him in football matches. So "he has assisted" is wrong as Kuipers isn't the person assisting. Redirects

edit

Hey DadaNeem, just went through a ton of your redirects, there are a few here I didn't approve yet, just wanted more information about them:

  • Japan's occupation of China - was this the only occupation in history? Seems too general to go to only one article.
  • Western's library - I see no reason for the apostrophe "s"
  • Canadian folk - Folk is a colloquialism for people, this could also redirect to Canadians, no?
  • Venkapathy Raju - I see no spelling of that name in the article
  • Lions series - Same reason as above
  • WhatCulture.com - Same reason as above
  • Marxist view of history - What made you choose Historical materialism over just Marxism?
  • 4 terms about bowling I'm not knowledgeable enough to make the decision on, couldn't find those terms in the article though.

Thanks! SEMMENDINGER (talk) 01:16, 16 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the efforts to deal with all those redirects. I'll deal with the ?s you raised ASAP. Best! DadaNeem (talk) 10:01, 16 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Marxist view of history - I think Historical materialism is better than Marxism as it's more specifically related to that subset of Marxism dealing with history. As a footnote it could also go to Marxist historiography, but Historical materialism early on mentions Marxist historiography, so I'd leave that alone.
  • Venkapathy Raju - a sometime spelling as a search for "Venkapathy Raju" yields several instances of that version of his name, especially in papers & even Cricinfo, the doyen of cricket sites, and even once on wikipedia
  • Canadian folk - Folk is a colloquialism for people, this could also redirect to Canadians, no? That's true, but I'd find the music interpretation more usual - I may be wrong.
  • Western's library - Good question! In the same sense as the book referenced (Western's first century), it would be the library system of the University of Western Ontario. My grammar is a bit rusty so I looked it up-it seems to be 's indicates possession as in Rule 1a.

re the *4 terms about bowling - I don't have them in front of me but I seem to recall that it was variants of medium pace or somesuch as used in cricket. I'd have to check back.

I cover the others a bit later, hopefully today DadaNeem (talk) 23:30, 19 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Saff V.: Hi Saff V.

Thanks for the eyes-up re Assam Legislative Council and nice to meet you too. My part in it's existence is small. I created it as a #REDIRECT to Assam Legislative Assembly in 2013 and it was expanded into an article recently. There is a connection between the two as mentioned in the Assam Legislative Assembly article: the Assam Legislative Council was the upper house until abolished in 1947. I suggest 2 options:

  • retain and improve the ALC article to mention the connection
  • merge ALC into ALA

Perhaps the latter I would prefer, but I'm no expert on the subject.

External links in the body of an article

edit

Can you explain why you added an external link in this section? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 09:24, 31 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Sure Justin! The book has about 5 editions and the one mentioned is the first-the link (to the authors website) enables those interested to seek out the book. Now my ? for you: why do you think that is a problem? Regards Dada
  • PS many books in refs and Further reading etc have links on WP which don't contain the specific info referred to but assist in finding it. I think this would apply especially in Further reading. DadaNeem (talk) 09:40, 31 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • PPS I've just noticed that actually the External link I put is NOT in the body of the article but in Further reading. DadaNeem (talk) 19:57, 31 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
That makes sense: linking to the author's page in further reading is reasonable. Thanks and happy 2020(s) to you, too. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 23:21, 31 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of WhatCulture.com

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on WhatCulture.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2020_February_25#WhatCulture. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Speedy deletion nomination of 300 area

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on 300 area requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

0 Harryishere (talk) 21:01, 23 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Islamic extremism in the 20th-century Egypt

Hi, can you explain why Islamic extremism in 20th-century Egypt is the redirect and Islamic extremism in the 20th-century Egypt is the article? The latter isn't proper English, surely. Why was it this way round? (Asking you because you put in place the redirect). Thanks in advance for any illumination, MartinPoulter (talk) 19:20, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Good question that would best be answered by User Bradington4 who made the title and whose only contributions (in 2012) were to said Islamic extremism in the 20th-century Egypt. Looking at his essay, I assume English is not his/her first language. With (or without) Bradington4's input, I would suggest renaming the article as per my redirect. Speedy deletion nomination of Foundation of Goodness

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Foundation of Goodness, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Proposed deletion of Sterling Sound

edit

Hello, DadaNeem

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Grahaml35, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Sterling Sound, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Grahaml35}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of Rideau Valley Conservation Foundation

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rideau Valley Conservation Foundation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Proposed deletion of Billionaires Row (disambiguation page)

edit

The article Billionaires Row (disambiguation page) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per WP:2DABS: of the remaining two entries, one is the unambiguous primary topic. One recent revision post-cleanup explicitly states that the one in Manhattan is the primary topic.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
