How to review user contributions

To see a list of a user's contributions, go to their user page or user talk page. When you do that, the menu item "User contributions" will appear in the Toolbox menu on the sidebar. This link will show you all the edits that user has ever made (except deleted edits), up to 500 per page. This is useful for tracking vandalism in progress.

Edits with a "top" link are the most recent ones to their respective articles.

You have your own contributions list, which is particularly useful for tracking your conversations on talk pages. If you are logged in, you can access the list from the "Contributions" link at the top of the page.

To help keep track of your discussions on talk pages, you may wish to place the {{Discussion tracker}} template to your talk page.

To add this auto-randomizing template to your user page, use {{totd-random}}

Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content.   Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to History of India, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page.Your edits are bordering on vandalism, and your edit summaries are misleading at best. Changes made to the Andrea Scholer Wikipedia Page

Hi Bongan. Thank you for contacting me regarding the Andrea Scholer page. Much of the information on the Andrea Scholer Wikipedia page is incorrect or out-of-date. It does not follow Wikipedia's guidelines for biographies: "Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately from the article and its talk page, especially if potentially libellous." The current article contains a lot of subjective statements that can't be properly sourced. I will try the edits again, making small changes that adhere to the requirement for neutrality, but the changes do need to be made. Fallensea (talk) 09:48, 12 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Help me!

Please help me with an article which have three sources. Primary source is a data, Secondary source is a news paper article to explain the primary source data & tertiary source is also news paper article to explain the primary source but misused of primary source

use of Primary & Secondary source artical look like ==>> the Scheduled Castes at 16.6 per cent and Scheduled Tribes at 8.6 per cent, the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes together make up 25 per cent of India's population according to the 2011 census.[1][2]

if use of tertiary source than artical look like ==>> the Scheduled Castes at 16.6 per cent and Scheduled Tribes at 8.6 per cent, the Dalits and Adivasis together make up 25 per cent of India's population according to the 2011 census.[3][4][5]

The above two article diffrence in a words Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes (primary scource).tertiary source use Dalit & Adivasi(According to Primary scource) but (Primary scource data publish Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes data)

please help me how to correct this article follow the Wikipedia protocol

Main article Dalit

Thanks Bongan® →TalkToMe← 11:23, 19 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

You should discuss that at the article's talk page, Talk:Dalit. However, when the Times of India uses "Scheduled Castes" and "Dalits" interchangeably, I don't think it's appropriate to second-guess it. Since this is the article about the Dalits, we could probably omit the census and the Indian Express, as well as the mention of Adivasis, and simply cite the ToI for the number of Dalits. Incorrect speedy deletion nominations and careless tagging

I have declined your recent speedy-delete nominations of the following pages:

and User:GB fan has declined your speedy nomination of Karkare. None of these pages fit any of the speedy deletion criterion you had cited. While Dhananjay Jadhav could plausibly be merged into Police Commissioner of Mumbai following proper discussion, the rest are clearly notable and will easily survive AFD). I have also removed your tagging of the articles with numerous inapplicable tags; if you wish to re-add any of them, please justify the tagging on the concerned article talk page. Please be more careful in the future. Abecedare (talk) 12:11, 20 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have to agree, I looked at Afghan Church that you added 6 maintenance tags. I removed 3 of them as they do not appear to be valid at all. The other 3 are also questionable but have left them for now. Tagging articles like that without any explanation does not help anyone. When you tag an article like that unless it is obvious, like unreferenced, you should explain why you are tagging the article. The rest of us may not see what you see. -- GB fan 14:31, 20 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Additionally, I have removed your warnings about creating inappropriate pages from User talk:Jibin net. If a warning is required there should only have been one. Escalating warnings such as the ones you left should only be given if the editor continues to do the same behavior after receiving earlier warnings. In this case these were all created before your your initial warning. -- GB fan 14:42, 20 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Accusing editors of incivility

Hi Bongan. Be very cautious about linking a fellow editor to Wikipedia's civility policy (WP:CIVIL or WP:5P4) as you did with these edits: [1][2][3]. Doing so can easily be taken as an accusation of incivility, and without substantive evidence, accusing editors of incivility can sometimes be taken as a personal attack. Remember, "comment on content, not on the contributor." In any collaborative project like Wikipedia, it is easy to mistake frank or direct disagreement with disrespect or incivility. If you feel another editor has treated you rudely, first take a step back and think whether something you said or did could have provoked a more defensive or bitter response. Consider ignoring isolated examples of incivility in favor of addressing the issue at hand. If you must, explain clearly, but politely and with the intent of moving on past the issue, exactly what it was you felt was not civil. Avoid just linking to the policy and expecting a change in behavior. Especially with new editors, I've often found success in explaining the principles of policies—why we have the policy—instead of just linking to them. Respectfully, Mz7 (talk) 19:11, 21 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Add: In general, be more careful in leaving warning messages. For example here are the copyedits User:Ronakshah1990 performed to the Afghan Church article, for which you left them a completely inapproriate warning. You then defended your actions twice above. This is not ok and needs to stop. Abecedare (talk) 19:28, 21 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
And today you also warned Ronak for this 4-month old edit in which they copyedited the article and removed redundant information. Occassional errors of this sort are understandable but you should be more careful. Abecedare (talk) 19:40, 21 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ok, now I understand. When there is an issue to be discussed such as "the mention of the Hindi language needs a source", it is best to state that, either in the edit summary or on the article talk page. Giving a non-descriptive warning message is not going to achieve anything. Warning messages should be used either for new users who may not know the Wikipedia policies or to users who are being disruptive. For this particular issue, however, sources are needed in the lead only for contentious issues. The fact that dalit means oppressed in most Indian languages is common knowledge, hardly contentious. - Kautilya3 (talk) 09:02, 22 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

August 2015

Hi Bongan. Thank you for your work on patrolling new pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for Kepler-421, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. I find that the "no context" criterion is widely misunderstood. The article must give no clue whatsoever as to what it's subject actually is. "Kepler-421 is a star" establishes what the subject is, therefore making it ineligible for deletion as having no context. Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers, criteria for speedy deletion, and particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion or proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. Thanks! Beeblebrox (talk) 17:12, 22 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Additionally, III (single/ep) was also a bad tagging. How can "III is the third EP from American singer, songwriter and actress, Jojo" be anything but indicating a specific subject of the article? C628 (talk) 04:07, 25 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

It is worrying to me that almost every post on this page consists of warning you, correcting you, or firmly advising you to be cautious. Every reference on that article is verifiable, all are cited from literature relevant to its subject. And the speed with which you posted the template after it was posted indicates that you could not possibly have given the article anything more than cursory attention. If you can pin point those references that you claim are unverifiable, then I will happily replace them. I think that is a fair and civil challenge. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prolumbo (talkcontribs) 14:31, 30 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Dear User, I've noticed that you undid some changes in [[6]] without giving any proper explanations. If you have objection or some strong point on that kindly discuss but do not do such thing. Hence if you follow this definition, those incidences do not fit on the list or article, hence should be dropped.

A tag has been placed on Template:Infobox Mahajanapada requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Non-free rationale for File:Indian ten rupee coin (2008 Reverse).jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Indian ten rupee coin (2008 Reverse).jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 17 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Bongan, I think you're a Bengali person; if you Bengali then why don't contributing on Bengali Wikipedia! I am Sorry of my suggestion. Sorry! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2405:204:9185:130E:0:0:285:C8B1 (talk) 18:56, 18 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes this is a very good suggestion and I entirely support this. I believe Bongan has lack of strong English skills, in that case it is better to contribute in Bengali wikipedia as he has a stronger language skills in Bengali. Please think about it. --DBigXray 20:29, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
User:2405:204:9185:130E:0:0:285:C8B1 Thanks for suggestion, but I am not Bengali Bongan® →TalkToMe← 07:10, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
User:DBigXray how you know I have a stronger language skills in Bengali or not? Bongan® →TalkToMe← 07:32, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
You have mentioned this in your Userpage, that you have native/expert level skills in Bengali.--DBigXray 07:35, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
In page also added Marathi and Hindi why suggested only Bengali than or because of Category:User *-N ? Bongan® →TalkToMe← 08:08, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
yes, You have mentioned that becuse your user page says, এ ব্যবহারকারীর বাংলা ভাষার উপরে মাতৃভাষার মতন ধারণা রয়েছে। which google translates to "This user has the same concept as mother language on Bangla language." so you are saying that you have the best grip on Bengali, as compared to other languages. But after all this is just a suggestion, and my personal opinion. regards --DBigXray 12:14, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Kamarupa

Kamarupa has nothing to do with Bengal History. So please do not add the template there. Chaipau (talk) 12:06, 17 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Chaipau: Yes Kamarupa at its height covered the entire Brahmaputra Valley, North Bengal, northern part of Bangladesh, and West Bengal. Its already mention in page. Bongan® →TalkToMe← 12:45, 17 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
You may add the History of Bengal template in North Bengal, Sylhet etc. which were part of Kamarupa, but you cannot put the History of Bengal template on Kamarupa. Chaipau (talk) 13:08, 17 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Particularly vulnerable tribal group, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Andaman (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Help with MR?

Hi Bongan! Hope you don't mind me asking here but I saw you speak mr and was wondering if you could take a look at something for me on mrwiktionary. I am a global sysop and while patrolling and removing spam I came across some mass entries that appear to have been part of a coordinated event but look badly translated and out of scope. The content for one reads: (FUEL) कार्यशाळेने संगणक प्रणालीं करिता प्रमाणित शब्द :कप्प्यातील माहिती which according to google translates roughly as "certified workshop word for computer systems" which leads back to this which is certainly out of scope and promotional but I wanted to get a native speaker's opinion before moving forward at Meta. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Malla kings of the Bankura

A tag has been placed on Category:Malla kings of the Bankura indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
