It just sounded like an advert to me anyway. Including directions on how to get to location X isn't exactly encyclopedic. I'm sure we'll have an article on it eventually, as "places are notable" does (for better or, more often, worse) seem to be general consensus, but it's not getting created by me unless it's neutral. ;-) See you around AFC. Hersfold(t/a/c)16:34, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
(In reply to later comment) Yeah.... that has to be one of the strangest questions I've had to answer. I'll probably add it to my weird stuff sometime in the near future. Hersfold(t/a/c)16:48, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Yep. That locks me up too. I rarely "get" the reverts on those. Thank goodness for the bots, lol. But, actually it turns out that the numbers in the parentheses aren't kilobytes, but characters, so it probably isn't 1mb. Considering that super-long pages that tend to slow my browser down, are around 200kb, I would guess that these types of edits are about 500kb, but the number in the watchlist shows characters added/removed. (Not sure where I got the idea that it was kb, lol) Ariel♥Gold20:14, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Oh, no doubt, those types of things either lock up Firefox for me completely, or they're just so slow in loading that there's no real chance I'll be the one to revert them, lol. So, 1 million(ish) characters is a megabyte? Interesting. (Note that I knew better than to click your link, .) Ariel♥Gold20:36, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Impersonation
Latest comment: 17 years ago17 comments8 people in discussion
Hi ArielGold.
You have been impersonated in the Simple English Wikipedia: simple:User:ArielGold. I've blocked him and deleted his userpage, which forwarded here.
Leave me a message if you want me to get a bureaucrat to rename that account or if you need anything.
Thank you so much FrancoGG! Yes, I guess it would be a good idea for me to get an account there. Any chance I can get that name? Ariel♥Gold20:57, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Ugh! :( Indeed you have, sweetie, but worry not - I'll ask Archer7, one of our bureaucrats at Simple, to rename the vandal account and notify you, so you can create an account there. I have a few more advices for you on these matter, baby, but in order to avoid Beans, I'll save them for our mailboxes, k? Hope you're having a shiny, beautiful day :) Love, Phaedriel - 21:08, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Thank you so much Phaedriel and FrancoGG! I have registered the name, so all should be well in the WikiWorld! Thank you again my dear friends! Ariel♥Gold21:27, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
This whole thing made me run around and create a bunch of Into The Fray's in languages I don't even understand. God forbid some Chinese vandal run around masquerading as my profound personage. Although, I wasn't even aware of the existence of the Simple English Wikipedia, so I'm glad to have found it indirectly. :) Into The FrayT/C22:46, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah I've considered doing that as well, but what a pain, lol. (I never, ever use the same password on any site, ever, so that would be a whole boatload of passwords to remember!) Ariel♥Gold22:49, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Heh. I'm registered on several wikis now, after a similar unpleasant incident (although somewhat more serious). Wear your "wings" proudly... Fvasconcellos (t·c) 22:59, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Yes I saw this happen to someone else a month or two ago and went around to several Wikis and made an account for myself. I had forgotten about Simple English Wiki though and after seeing this, went there earlier and snagged my user name ..just in case! You know, I wonder how hard it would be for the Wikimedia Foundation to make a single Wiki-wide global user account system..so once you log in, you are signed in to all their Wikis? It seems like it would save users a lot of hassle, but I of course don't know what would be involved behind the scenes to make it happen. Oh well, just a thought. --Naha|(talk)23:30, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, global login is supposed to be coming, so perhaps that is something that may be looked at as well, it would be nice, to be sure. Ariel♥Gold23:47, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
That would make life easier, most definitely! I have accounts on a bunch of Wikis of languages I don't even speak, because I periodically go around adding interwikis. Love, Neranei(talk)23:52, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Global "login" is not the same thing as what you're talking about. It means there will be one page for all Wikimedia members to log in through, but I don't know if it means you'll automatically gain a username on all those Wikis. It may mean that, but I haven't seen anything that indicates that (granted, I've not really dug into the details either, though). Ariel♥Gold23:59, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Oh hrm. I wonder what the point of that is? I'm sure there is a good one or they wouldn't go to all the trouble. I guess I'm talking about more of a "global user account." I obviously don't know much about any of it :( --Naha|(talk)00:03, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

You are mistaken. This redirect currently points to Iron maiden (torture device), not the disambiguation page as you stated. Furthermore, the closing statement of the requested move indicated that the redirect should point to the bands article. PC7823:13, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
I went through the entire discussion there, and while it is highly confusing, I see that the end result was your statement. My apologies. Ariel♥Gold23:18, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, it appears that there is a silly edit war going on with that page, so I'm removing it from my watchlist (it ended up there accidentally on vandal patrol lol) and leaving it to those of y'all who are involved. Good luck with that! Hee hee. Ariel♥Gold23:31, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

I've just restored it after seeing that the CSD tag was removed (I've deleted it 1 minute (probably less then that after you have removed the CSD tag, so basically when I was in the process of deleting it), and looking at the user's talk page, seems to be involved in several disputes recently. Thanks for notifying me on the issue.--JForget01:39, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Hee hee, yeah I didn't get an edit conflict, but I ended up at an empty page, and yet it still shows in the summary, so I'm guessing it was mere seconds, lol. Anyway thanks again! Ariel♥Gold01:44, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey Ariel, remember me? :)
I was just wondering if you would mind giving me a hand again, if youre busy thats fine, i don't want to intrude, just wanted to ask a small favour. Talk soon :P
Many thanks (♠Murchy♠) 12:16, 21 September 2007 (UTC))
Howdy! I was wondering if you could do 2 things for me 1) Could you edit my user page again and add a box exactly like your "Space Shuttle Endevour" box? If you accept then i'll give you the details, you dont have to do it right now if you dont want to, if you want to do it later just let me know :-) and 2)can you take a look at my travel album and let me know what you think please?? Thanks (♠Murchy♠) 13:04, 21 September 2007 (UTC))
I actually love the way you did your travel page! So much so, that I may consider changing mine to add pictures of where I've been. That's much nicer than just listing places with flags. Really nice job. And did you want the picture that is in your top box moved into another box instead? Or do you want another box with that? Here is the reason I added the picture to the top box: Because to have two boxes, that means you'd have a total of three, and I thought that the first box would look best full width, and the bottom box would be really squished if it were side-by side with another. If you'd like the top box to be side by side with an image box, then yes I can do that for you. Just let me know what you'd like in the image box. Ariel♥Gold13:11, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Lol thanks about the travel album, i started off the way you did then i began adding photos, then words, then flags, and its progressed into that lol. Um, tbh, I wanted the pic in the top box moved into a seperate box entitled "Skyscrapers Of The World" or something of that nature, i know how to change the pictures now lol, i just wanted it in a seperate box so i could change it every week or so and make it like a slideshow :P and if you could make it red, that'd b awesome, buy i like the icon youve used on your ox, unless theres a more appropriate icon like a tall building or something but i'm no fussy :D - but yeah, that'd b awesome thanks. and also, on my travel album i think i cut off some code by mistake and removed the bottom edge of the border so if theres a way to revert or redo that, could you let me know lol :D Thanks for being a great help to me (again lol) (♠Murchy♠) 13:26, 21 September 2007 (UTC))
Gallery fixed. You didn't have the closing tag for it</nowiki> </gallery> </nowiki>. Easy to fix. Working on userpage now. Ariel♥Gold14:02, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks a Bunch. Well it's 2 in the morning here so imgunna head to bed, but feel free to update mu user page wheneva, feel free to do it when it suit you, thanks a heap for this, my preferences fot the update are in my previous comment, so yeah, thanks and ill talk to you soon :D Thanks and good night (♠Murchy♠) 14:10, 21 September 2007 (UTC)) :D!
Thanks! and 1 other thing before i depart, i have recived 2 new awards but they dont appear on my awards page but when editing the page the code is there but not on the page when you save, do you know how to fix that?? cheers and good night :D (♠Murchy♠) 14:16, 21 September 2007 (UTC))
I'll take a look, you do know you have to add them by hand to the Awards page, right? But I'll take a look at that as well. Sweet dreams! Ariel♥Gold14:18, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

hi there! Could you do some more magic on my userpage? Firstly, a little header that has a "talk to me" like link, that creates a new section on my talk page, and also redesign my talk page so it has some similar style to the user page (and also has the talk to me link at the top). I've had several people contact me via email recently, without my knowing what their wiki names are. Thanks — TimotabTimothy (not Tim dagnabbit!)14:14, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I'd be happy to, but how did the wiki email go through without showing you who they were? Or, perhaps a better question is, if they didn't use wiki email link, how did they get your email address? lol. Ariel♥Gold14:19, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Doh. I'm used to such systems saying "Hey, this was emailed through our webpage from this user: FOO". But it's just part of the "From:" line on the wikipedia email. Even so, I'd prefer to get user-talk messages rather than emails if it's wikipedia related stuff. — TimotabTimothy (not Tim dagnabbit!)14:27, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Yep no problem dear, Do you want it as a horizontal title bar, like those on the userpage? Same style, etc? Or something original? Ariel♥Gold14:29, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Erk indeed... while it isn't really violating anything, and I can't see how it is harmful, it is probably not the best idea, either. Let me think of how to word this for someone that age, and I'll see what I can do. Thanks dear! Ariel♥Gold15:16, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

I did; though just as a message to myself so I don't overlook counts. (I'm a bit ocd on listing things.) :P At any rate, I almost never shout in all caps; only when making an important message to myself (which has probably happened 3 times during my near year on Wikipedia) and, sometimes, with articles that I've fixed but asking someone to check because I may have goofed. :P At any rate it's something I rarely do as honestly I hate all caps. :) -WarthogDemon16:51, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Hmmm... Perhaps. It has some issues I don't like, there was some really excessive WP:POINT with a disruptive user a while back, (see Lisa Nowak to see examples still up, 15+ references for one line of text, complete overkill, in multiple sections). I've fixed the ones with the Morgan article for the most part, but I'd still probably want to move some of those over-redundant refs out totally, or to other areas. Let me think about it and look at it some more. Ariel♥Gold21:28, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Please STOP deleting my web page. Barbara Morgan IS featured in the documentary AND there are video clips of her on the web page. The film is a GOOD educational tool of the Teacher in Space program and has EVERYTHING to do with Barbara Morgan. Who are you and why does it bother you so much? Renee—Preceding unsigned comment added by RFS111 (talk • contribs) 00:13, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Dear Ariel,
Maybe you do not know that Christa McAuliffe was the first Teacher in Space and now as Barbara Morgan says, she is "the second." We are friends with Barbara and she is a big supporter of this documentary, so please stop this nonsense of removing our web link. Again, who are you to make this decision for the public? Renee —Preceding unsigned comment added by RFS111 (talk • contribs) 00:38, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
I assume you are referring to your addition of an external link to the Barbara Morgan page. As one of the members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Human Spaceflight, of course I'm more than aware of who McAuliffe was. I watched the 51L mission from college. That being said, I am not "Deleting your webpage", I am removing an external link that does not pertain to the article it is in. First, I'd like to request that you review the external links guideline that has already been provided to you here on your talk page. Second, the site you wish to add a link to has nothing to do directly with Barbara Morgan, it is a site for a documentary movie about McAuliffe that is promotional in nature. You've previously been warned about adding what are considered advertisement links, (the site is basically a "buy the DVD" site) and I would request you review that guideline. The Wikipedia article is about Morgan, the person. Not about the teachers in space program, and the link does not serve to enhance the article. Wikipedia is not a repository of links. External links should be relevant to the subject, and assist the user in expanding their knowledge of the subject of the article. Your link does none of those things. Additionally, your edit here removed all the existing external links (that were relevant, providing more direct, relevant information on Morgan for those who wish to read them) as well as the Wikipedia template that allows for the references to be displayed. I would really encourage you to get familiar with some of the policies and guidelines here, perhaps using some of the following pages as a guide to how to edit articles: reliable sources, Cite your sources, Manual of style, Layout guide, First article, Article development and How to edit. As for "who I am", I am an editor on Wikipedia devoted to maintaining the integrity of the site, I uphold the policies and guidelines that help improve it, and I help new users learn how to do the same. Thank you, Ariel♥Gold00:37, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
I think it's fantastic that you are so detailed; it shows you are aware of all the relevant areas of Wikipedia! Phgao11:42, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Shame
Latest comment: 17 years ago2 comments2 people in discussion
For sure, you can cut the semantics.
You're deleting my "web link" which is not nice. I guess you are one of those space folk who want to distant Barbara from Christa. What a shame. And shame on you for denying the relevance to Barbara with the Teacher in Space program and Christa. Apparently, you have endless time on your hands, so you win. But by not seeing the connection of the film, Christa McAuliffe: Reach for the Stars and Barbara Morgan is a slam to Christa's memory and the Challenger crew. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RFS111 (talk • contribs) 01:06, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Your assumptions about me are not only completely incorrect, but they are irrelevant to the policies and guidelines here. I again request that you review the policies, and guidelines provided to you on your page. Wikipedia is not MySpace, nor is it an indiscriminate collection of material, nor is it used to promote products. Additionally, as you say you are closely affiliated with Morgan, I'd suggest that you take a look at the conflict of interest guideline, as it appears that you're having a hard time remaining neutral. There is an entire article devoted to McAuliffe, as well as one for the Teachers in Space program. But your link is still promotional in nature, as explained to you by Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry when you first started posting them. I again really encourage you to read up on what Wikipedia actually is, what External links are used for, and the other issues raised. Thank you, Ariel♥Gold01:23, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Dear ArielGold, You helped me significantly when I was a new editor trying to add material to the page Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. I have improved that page since then but I was wondering if you could help me with one detail. I have a picture of a church at the top of the page that is very tiny. I copied it from another Wikipedia page devoted to that church. I would like to make the picture bigger so it takes up most of the empty space at the top of the Archdiocese page. Hi. :) Since you are the queen of interesting templates (so far as I know), I wanted to ask what the protocol is for creating new ones. I'm gradually working out some standard responses to situations I encounter a lot (you can see the formulas I'm using at the moment over here), and it would be awfully helpful if I could turn some of them into templates. (The copyright policy advisement is for those editors who've been warned through Twinkle or not at all, since the Twinkle advisement is not specific about policy and policy notification is required for speedy deletion under GS#12.) I don't want to stumble into sacred ground. :) --Moonriddengirl16:42, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
So, if I make a template of my own, I won't be left as a skeleton to horrify the leading lady in future Indiana Jones movies? (Indiana Jones Part 12: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Wikipedia Sacred Cows). Of course, I have to figure out how to make a template of my own. :) But I can probably cobble something. --Moonriddengirl16:47, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, here is what I'd advise, and indeed, what I've done. I have all my own templates, but they are in my userspace. I just subst them, and voila! Now, if enough people like them and there's a demand for them, then perhaps it would be acceptable to move them into Template space, but the move towards template standardization makes that a bit of a challenge. There is nothing that says editors cannot make their own templates and use them, but if they are in template space, they are open for TfDs if someone feels they are redundant or unnecessary. I can help you format them into templates that will allow you to specify the editor's name, the article/page you're referring to, and to have them auto-sign when used, if you want me to. But I'd probably suggest doing these in userspace, rather than in Template space for now. You can also discuss your changes and/or suggestions at WT:UTM, to get input from others, and help creating your own templates, if you wish to do that. I think that personalized templates are a wonderful thing, when used in the right situations. There are plenty of times that I use standard Twinkle templates, but there are also times when they are just not as friendly, (i.e. with obvious edits by children) and in some cases, I prefer mine. Let me know if you want any help with them, dear! Ariel♥Gold17:00, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
And if all that confuses you, you can get Mike to make them! ~*Giggle*~ (Mike is a programmer, and he rocks, seriously) Also, if you look over mine, and decide you like some of those, just let me know and I'll give you the instructions on how to use mine if you wish to. Okie dear, let me know if you want to add the editor's name, an article, and a signature to them, and I'd be willing to help you do that if you can't figure out how. (If you check my code, chances are you'll be able to work it out though, those three things are pretty easy to do). Ariel♥Gold17:14, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
(Resetting indent) As a relatively technologically clueless human being, I am finding the guidelines difficult to follow. I'd be very grateful if you could tell me this: what do you type on a user's page when you are trying to place your Last Warning? If you could <nowiki> it for me, I think I might be able to figure out how to turn a section into a template rather than the whole page. :) --Moonriddengirl18:56, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Okay, well first, a template really should be its own page. Unless you "hide" all other sections using <noinclude>, you can't substitute a specific section of a page. Plus, it is just easier to make each template its own page. As for your question, I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. Are you asking if you can force an edit summary via templates? I don't think that's possible to do. If you're asking how to just make the wording say "This is your last warning", then sure you can do that, but the template would not know if it was, indeed, the last warning, the user placing it would have to use it in that specific situation. If that's not what you mean, maybe you can explain it in another way because I'm not clear on what the question is, lol. Ariel♥Gold18:59, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
And, would you allow me to put one of your notices in that page into template form, so you can see how it works? It will automatically place the editor's name, the article you're referring to, and the signature of the person placing the notice, and you can see how that works. If you want to figure it all out on your own, I understand that too, as learning by doing is helpful, but I'd be more than happy to do one first, just so you can see how it works. Let me know, I'm not busy right now so I'd be happy to do it! Ariel♥Gold19:02, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Oh! I was under the impression that I could put all of my little messages on one page and make the different sections templates. I was asking how you templated that specific message so I could figure out how you did that. I gather that the page I'm looking at is your compendium, and that they're actually housed elsewhere. :) As for allowing you to, I'd be GRATEFUL. :D I work best by example. --Moonriddengirl19:04, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Oh gosh, yes that's my mistake for not explaining, that page is just a "visual gallery", if you will, of all my template pages, each one is its own template page. Let me do one for you, and then you can see how that works. I'll also add hidden comments for you to understand what portion of the code does what. I'll holler at you with the link when I'm done! Ariel♥Gold19:07, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. :) I appreciate your taking your time to help out with this. Given the variety of creative templates you use, I knew you'd be a good one to run to. Plus you're nice. :D --Moonriddengirl19:12, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
It is no problem at all, and no trouble! I'm not a template guru by any means, but things like this, I can do, and I enjoy doing them, so hey! I'm doing your A7 notice first. Ariel♥Gold19:16, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
New section so Ariel doesn't have to scroll
Whoot! Thank you! :D I will now try my hand at it. It'll be a good thing if I know how to do it and fix it so I can do more. I'll probably be back with more questions if I run into trouble. :) --Moonriddengirl19:29, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
You're more than welcome, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask! I hope I explained the syntax inside clearly with the hidden comments for you, but if not, just holler! Ariel♥Gold19:31, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Thank you.

Hello, dear Ariel. A while back (when I changed my username) I told you that Spanish-language keyboards were different than American keyboards. Well, I found an image (here on Wikipedia, of course) of a Spanish keyboard (see your right) :-) Happy editing! --Agüeybaná21:21, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Ahhh, yeah I knew there are a variety of keyboards out there with that type of thing, there would have to be, lol. I just don't happen to have one, lol! (Good thing I'm good at copy/pasting, huh?) Ariel♥Gold21:26, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, I can do it with Wikipedia! The little table down below the edit box, lol. But they are sure hard to find because they're so small: ń Hmm, no that's not it... ñ There it is. What a pain, lol. Ariel♥Gold21:32, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Shmooshkums has smiled at you! Smiles promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by smiling at someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Happy editing! Smile at others by adding {{subst:Smile}} to their talk page with a friendly message.
Hee hee, you can give Phaedriel credit, as the code leads back to her, as so many userpages do, lol. And I really like your name! So cute, lol. Thanks for the smile! Ariel♥Gold00:08, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the reversions

Thanks to both of you. :) I told a guy just yesterday who was completing his RfA that once he started using his tools to fight vandalism, he'd get all the chance others had said he was lacking to prove he could handle conflict. :) --Moonriddengirl00:44, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Maybe you can help

Hey, we both reverted the same vandalism at the same time, and both the reverts appeared in the page history, thats a first for me..how about you? Tiptoety04:42, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
LOL I saw that! That was just some insane timing, huh? Hee hee. It was like Wikipedia couldn't keep up with us, ~*Giggle*~ Ariel♥Gold04:45, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

lol I saw it, just hard to tell if you're laughing at me, or with me hee hee. I freely admit that my extreme verbosity may be something to laugh at at times, lol. Ariel♥Gold21:39, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

I would like to acknowledge your comment "I have a lot of time on my hands, so I hope that in the future, while I may not be memorable, I'll at least be remembered as having helped in small ways, to what I envision as a repository of knowledge for the future." In that spirit, do you have a comment about the removal of the majority of the contents from the NCCC page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Civilian_Community_Corps)?
Although the number of quotes listed is extensive, they are informative, authoritative, accurately referenced. They are in almost all cases (or in every case, given the vagueness of the definition of "fair use") excerpts that qualify under "fair use" in relation to the length of the originals. They are from reputable (at a minimum) sources, referenced so their authenticity can be verified. The content of the quotations provide useful information compatible with an Encyclopedia entry. The information in the sections "NCCC Work for People With Disabilities" and "NCCC and Veterans" [like the sections mentioned below, all now at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCCC_Accomplishments] is likewise sound.
The Heading "Accolades" could be deleted and subsections 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4 (3.1 NCCC Disaster Mitigation, Emergency Preparedness, Disaster Relief and Recovery / 3.2 NCCC Fire Fighting and Fire Mitigation / 3.3 NCCC and Environmental Conservation / 3.4 NCCC and Education) could become Level 2 sections.
There is much important - even valuable - information in those quotes that has been provided freely. Your advice about restoring the content in an acceptable fashion would be appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coterminous (talk • contribs) 02:21, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
It was moved to its own article at NCCC accomplishments by another editor. Therefore continued addition of that material to the main article, results in a POV fork and this is why I reverted the addition of the material to the main article. Cheers, Ariel♥Gold02:34, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

ArielGold, here are my comments to the editor who moved content (and blocked restoration) and has taken up editing pen, (following that editor's original note). I have added a few lines that occurred to me too late. I am copying you since you did some work on the page and have been at this for some time.
Reworking
OK, someone made some spectacular additions, well researched and all spot-on. The problem is, almost all of it is in need of some serious re-writing and starts to make the article too long. See What_wikipedia_is_not. I'm going to start on this- it's going to involve some deletions. Please don't take them personally, however, Wikipedia isn't meant to be a legal brief in defense of NCCC nor an advertisement in favor of it. I'm also going to transfer much of this to a new but separate article on "NCCC Accolades" that will be linked in the main article heading. --LoverOfArt 23:44, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Hello, Lover of Art
The additions you have moved off the National Civilian Community Corps page are/were mine. Thank you, I guess, for the compliment, but I ask you to carefully consider how to evaluate whether content is germane or extraneous. The "What Wikipedia is not" page you reference starts off: "Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia," which links to an internal definition: "a comprehensive written compendium."
As I tried to indicate, NCCC is a complex organization. I am not (nor have I ever been) an NCCC employee or contractor, but I know that it works with a wide variety of organizations, has been involved in a wide variety of activities, is responsive to local, state, regional, national priorities, and assumes considerable responsibilities. Pulling together this information in an authoritative and verifiable manner takes space. To "streamline" too much would be like asking a blindfolded person to characterize the proverbial elephant based on a touch or two.
I left the Criticisms section alone. Others are free to expand on that if they choose. If more authoritative and documented positive feedback exists, so be it.
So, please consider the broader context of unilateral decision-making. Let the Wikipedia entry for NCCC be comprehensive. Seek advice, or pause, regarding how best to tone down any material you genuinely feel is in need of that, or that you think is superfluous. And I hope you will be receptive to some give and take. And then, in my informed opinion, the pages should be merged into a single, comprehensive entry.
I am not sure how much more of my time to donate to this, since it seems like a decent chance this becomes a house of cards, eventually falling no matter how carefully done. Which is, when you think about, sort of a shame.Coterminous 03:41, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Coterminous04:08, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Ariel, I love the photograph of the STS-96 launch on your user page. It is amazing! I wish we had a higher resolution version of it... I tried looking on NASA web sites, but found nothing. Could you try looking (seeing as how you are a space enthusiast! ;-)). It is so beautiful. :-) --Iamunknown03:34, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Hrmm, I didn't upload that one (when I upload I link to the high res version) but I know where to find it, just give me a few minutes and I'll drop the link onto your talk page! Ariel♥Gold03:51, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi! I noticed your involvement with Elsayed Elsayed Wagih earlier, while I was trying out recent changes patrolling, and I liked the way you not only removed the repeated contribution, but went on to improve the article with important little additions too. I can see from your talk page that you hardly need the praise, but in line with the policy of promoting the positive that my secondary school instilled some years back, I thought I should at least say something, especially after seeing your username pop up somewhere else a little while back, and admiring your warning templates just now. So: nice work; you're a credit to Wikipedia. ObfuscatePenguin06:17, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Hee hee, well thank you very much. I am probably not the most speedy RC patroller, because as you saw, I will find something after I revert, and stay on the page to fix issues or clean things up, or format references, lol. I get distracted by disorder, so instead of moving on to find more vandalism, I'll stay to clean pages up often. Still, I like to think the little WikiFairy work is useful. Thanks for noticing! Hi Ariel. I moved the project banner down because I really don't like how the page looks with it, I would prefer without or at least as footer. Do you have any particular reason for having it or for having it at top? ℒibrarian207:39, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Heh, no, I just thought it looked good up there, lol (I liked the colors, lmao). No worries dear! How have you been? You doing alright? Ariel♥Gold07:43, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
All is fine just lots to do in real life and many girly things going on .
You have a point, the colors do look nice, but looks kind of an alert banner (IMO), I do prefer it down if you don't mind. Jake promised a logo once, will see what he says about, all the best girl ℒibrarian215:41, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

dearest Ariel, it's been a while since we last chatted, but just wanted to say hello. seems you've been busy with your usual wikifairy activities... seriously what would Wikipedia do without you?? hope all is well, love, ~Eliz81(C)07:50, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
~*Hugs*~ Right back to you my dear! I've missed seeing your name around these here parts, hee hee. And, I'm sure Wikipedia would go along as usual, I'm certainly not the most prolific Wikipedia Fairy, lol. But I appreciate your vote of confidence! Ariel♥Gold07:52, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
You got quality and quantity, girl! :) Keepin' an eye on AD and DarkFalls? You know those boys, always getting into trouble... ~Eliz81(C)07:59, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Aww! Well there should be regular chats more often. Your talk page is like a warm and welcoming snug little den, with a fire in the fireplace and a mug of hot cocoa :) ~Eliz81(C)08:06, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Hello Ariel, I've expanded this section a little bit. If you have five minutes of time, could you please check if there are major mistakes (esp. I'm unsure about commas and word choice). If not that would also be fine for me. Cheers --Oxymoron8315:06, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

My pleasure. Music is the one area where I would dare claim advanced levels of expertise (20 years working in music, don'tcha know). Every once in a while I've gone behind an editor's back and created an article that had already been declined. In most cases I had to do a little extra work because references or content wasn't up to WP snuff (like today). I've been busy dealing with a sock whose user has been a thorn in my side for about a month now. It's my own fault for getting involved but it bums me out that I could've been doing actual helpful stuff around WP but instead spent most of the day dealing with nonsense. C'est la vie. Precious Roy19:53, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Aww, sorry to hear about that thorny sock. Nothing worse than stepping in bramble bushes and getting thorns in your sock! And don't ever worry about doing a reversal with me, I fully respect your choices and decisions, and anything you want to change is fine and dandy with me! You're my tortoise!
