I note that this article is entirely the work of a single contributor whose initials (I judge) are the same as one of the authors of the book which is the single external reference (actually, the reference is to a blog by the author that prominently displays the book and operates under a creative commons license). I believe this article is a word-for-word reproduction of material from that blog. I also note that an extensive discussion of the noteworthiness of a similar article about the history of the petroleum in Canada by the same author has taken place (this "Panarctic oils" page links to that page). My first instinct was that this article is an attempt to promote the author's book and/or blog, but my reading of the relevant policies has left me somewhat confused. What does anyone else think? I also suggest that this article's subject is somewhat less noteworthy than the general-purpose article about petroleum resources in Canada. Accounting4Taste 21:28, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
