Wednesday Hodgepodge

Welcome back to the Wednesday Hodgepodge! Be sure to add your link to the bottom of Joyce's post and then go visit the neighbors. After all, that's part of the fun!

1. The first day of spring is here...do you enjoy working in the yard? Weeding, raking, mowing, planting-your favorite springtime garden chore? How about your least favorite?

I love it all - and I'm so ready!

2. What puts a spring in your step?
Just the thought of being able to work out in the yard seems to give me more energy!

3. Describe a time when you had to spring into action?
Lots of times - when you're a mother, especially a single mother - it happens all the time. The first thing that "springs" to mind is one of the countless times the phone rang to let me know my daughter was in a ditch and mom had to "spring" to the rescue.

4. We're having carrots for dinner...would you prefer yours raw or cooked?
Raw!

5. Do you take the shampoos and other sundries from your hotel room when its time to check out?
No - never use them - I always pack my own.

6. What's the most enjoyable team or club you've belonged to and what was it that made it so?
I'm a member of the VFW auxiliary and we do a lot of things - I like working to support the veterans, both old and new. I come from a long line of military service so it just seems natural. I do wish some younger women would join - it seems like I am one of the youngest in our post and I know there are many out there who are my age and have had both a parent and a child who served, just like me.

7. Is cloning a sign of progress?
No - I think it is wrong.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Today, March 21 is/was my dad's birthday. He would have been 84. He died in 2004 and I still miss him.

  1. I enjoy working in the yard, too. There have been times when DH & I had to "fight" over who was going to mow the lawn! ;-)

  3. Funny how work we enjoy, like gardening and yard work, give us more energy, and work we don't enjoy just drains it away. Hope you have a great spring!

  4. I completely understand your answer to #8. I lost my mom in 2000, my brother in 2002, and my dad in 2006. Every time their birthdays roll around, my heart aches even more. You never stop missing them, no matter how long it's been.

  5. I agree with you about cloning. Unless maybe if there is a disease and the science of it all would help find a cure. As for losing your father, I so feel the sympathies for you ---my dad passed in 1994, and thoughts are still lingering. The loss is lighter now, but the good memories are forever etched.

  6. Hi Tami, I love Spring --and love working in the yard. It's such good exercise also.

I also like carrots--either way. Guess I prefer them cooked, but I like raw carrots also.

I usually always take the shampoo, etc. from the motel rooms. I use the small sizes on trips alot. I also take their pads and pens--when they are available....

    Have a great day.
    Hugs,
    Betsy
