
Amalia Amaya
Amalia Amaya received her Ph.D. from the European University Institute in 2006 and an LL.M and a S.J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2007. She is Research Professor at the Institute of Philosophical Research, UNAM and British Academy Global Professor at the School of Law of the University of Edinburgh. She works primarily in philosophy of law, with a focus on legal epistemology and legal reasoning. Her main research project aims to develop a virtue approach to legal reasoning. She is also engaged in research on exemplarism and law and interested in examining the legal and political ideal of fraternity.
