Whats in my makeup school kit!!

So it's been a while since I last posted something on this blog and I did miss creating posts terribly. To get back into the swing of things I thought I would create a haul video on my new makeup kit for my makeup course! I'm starting the course pretty soon and I was quite excited to pick up my kit. It has been pre packaged for the course with a few additional items that I wanted to add. The kit was supplied by Girlie Cosmetics and as I am a student I got it for wholesale price, which helped my pocket a lot! All of the products in the kit are of professional quality and in fact some are re packaged under different high end brand names. Over the next few weeks i'm going to be adding more products to my kit and hopefully soon I can create a few makeup tutorials from the products I already have. So check out the video above and let me know what you think!!!

How to Organise a Closet!

I don't have the biggest closet in the world, so I like to create extra space in my closet through interesting ideas to store my beloved items! I have quite a realistic closet, I don't find it always necessary to colour code my shoes and clothes in such a fast paced world. However It always makes me happy when everything is neatly packed away and kind of reminds me of a clothing store!

For the top part of my closet I like to keep my lighter coloured clothes on white hangers and my darker clothes on black hangers. This makes it easier for me to find pieces of clothing when i'm having a rushed morning. More importantly it looks visually appealing to the eye and keeps your light and darks organised!

I keep the shorter items of clothing towards the centre of my closet so they won't clash to much with my shoes, and allows me to see my shoe collection clearer.

I have a lot of shoes for such a small shelf, so on the top I place my heels in a diagonal position to create space for all of them to fit in. On the bottom two shelves I place my smaller heels front to back to save even more space!

I don't colour code my skirts, but I do like to hang them in according to their length. This gives me more room in the centre of my closet so it's creates a more open and less cluttered space.

In this part of my closet I keep my jackets, formal heels, accessories and makeup storage. The shelves are a great way to store smaller items that can't be hung up.

I like to store my necklaces on removable wall hangers to keep them from getting damaged and to save a bit more space. Im obsessed with this feature in my closest as it reminds me a bit of a jewellery store!

Folding your jeans and shorts as opposed to hanging them is a great way to save space for a smaller closet. You'll find a lot of smaller boutiques do this to save space in they're shop.

I also like to hang my belts to save space and to prevent them from being crushed and distorted.

I have reserved a shelf on the top to keep my clutches and smaller bags. I keep them on the top shelf because I don't need to use these bags everyday, but I still want to keep them on display in my closet, because they're just to cute to hide away!

I stack my bracelets on a paper roll to keep them organised and looking cute! At the back i have folded my scarves and keep my hair accessories and sunglasses on this shelf.

Blast from the Past

Today I thought i'd reminisce on some past projects I created when I was 14- 16 years of age.
First up is my favourite that I made when I was 16, at this stage of my life I was addicted to the TLC show 'Toddlers and Tiaras', so naturally I decided to make a glitz pageant dress. Some may think its a tacky concept with bad values placed behind a glitzy dress, but for one I loved every minute sewing over the top sequin trims and curly frills!
The next dress was inspired by Australia's beautiful Great Barrier Reef. At the tender age of 16 I wanted to use colour, and lots of it! This dress in particular probably took the longest time to make, but at the time I thought it was worth it. By now you can probably tell my fashion sense is very over the top and full of colour!
when I was 14, there was a part of me that still secretly believed in faeries, so why not make a fairy dress for that off chance that they do exist! If barbie ever needed another fairy dress for her extensive wardrobe then this would be almost perfect for her!
Last but not least is my blue Cinderella like gown, that I wore once to a teen pageant and then a fashion design competition. I can still remember clearly quickly sewing on the sequins on both days of these events, minutes before I went on stage. Lets just say i'm probably not cut out for the hectic pageant lifestyle!
Anyways I hope you enjoy looking at my past sewing projects and got a little glimpse into my past.

Jimmy Choo Exotic Perfume Review

Jimmy Choo Exotic is a hot new limited edition fragrance for 2013 that reflects a free spirited and confident vibe! This perfume is for the exuberant character gal, who sparkles with her mischievous and sexy personality.
Jimmy choo's iconic signature python skin used on their accessories and shoes, is featured on the box to display and reflect the perfumes luxurious and exotic scent. The intense fushia bottle symbolises a glamorous and expensive lifestyle of a playful and strong woman.
This fragrance is perfect for the up coming warm months in Australia, the fresh and fruity scent is suitable for the beach and tropical night life.
Once spritzing this fragrance on you'll be certain that you will be smelling great for hours without having to re apply. The scent will start out magnetically strong and then fade into a soft intoxicating sexy fragrance.
Overall I give this fragrance a 4.5 out of 5 stars, it's almost perfect and is suitable for any lovely lady who is after the wow factor!

Top notes include black current sorbet and pink grapefruit.
Middle notes feature tiger orchid, exotic passion flower and floral notes.
Base notes are patchouli and tart raspberry.

How gorgeous is the bottle design!

Vintage floral

Today I wanted to create a print inspired by vintage floral wallpaper with a modern twist. I wanted the original motif to look old and worn with faded floral paintings, and then modernised by turning it into a mirrored print. I would love to one day get this printed on some silk fabric and make some light palazzo pants out of it, or even a shabby chic bed cover!

Bondi Inspiration

So for the past couple of weeks i've been chilling out in Bondi and all this great summery weather we've recently had here, has inspired me to create a fun and oh so bright tropical print! I'm loving bright electric colours at the moment and since they're almost always on trend in the fashion worlds hotter months, I decided to go all out and put together something that will most probably stand out!
Photoshop is my intelligent best friend when it comes to creating prints. There are so many possibilities, and bucket loads of tools to design something outrageously different and fun!
If this great weather keeps up my summer inspiration will go into over drive and it's only spring here!

The print here has been mirrored and flipped to create a kaleidoscopic affect!!

September Monthly Favourites!

Batiste dry shampoo is amazing for those days where you can't be bothered to do much with your hair and it's in need of a good wash.
Not only does it create extra volume in the hair, but it will seriously hide any excess oil and make your scalp feel refreshed and clean.
The blush scent is very floral, powdery and sweet, perfect for those spring mornings. The Tropical scent is fresh and fruity, great for a hot summer night on the town!

My current september love at the moment is the Babybliss Pro Argan Oil styling cream. If you want gorgeous shiny, smooth locks then this is the product for you! I use this cream on freshly washed hair, I apply a bit on the ends and blow dry it straight. After my hair is dry, I lightly add some more product on my hair to give it a nice silky affect.

The Volume Powder by schwarzkopf works wonders for creating large voluminous pageant style hair. I have never seen my hair so big without hairspray, until I came across this product! the powder is great at it will leave your hair as soft and voluminous without having a hard crunchy feeling attached.

I have always found TONI&GUY products work great for my hair, Their formulations are gentle yet effective, and always leave your hair in great shape.
I recently tried out the TONI&GUY shampoo and conditioner targeted for damaged hair, and although it honestly didn't repair my hair, it did leave it feeling soft and deeply moisturised. This set is going to be great for my hair in the upcoming summer months, where extra TLC will be needed with all that time spent at the beach!

My current favourite foundation so far is the CLINIQUE anti blemish solutions in Fresh Ivory. Now I have been using this foundation since I was sixteen years  old, and at nineteen it still works wonders for me! The consistency is very creamy and almost feels like a moose. It's coverage is quite light, but can be build able. Overall it's great for young skin and preventing it from breaking out, but it also leaves a nice dewy finish.
Next makeup favourite of the month would have to be my trusty go to MAC eyeshadow colour in vanilla. I love this eyeshadow as not only can it be used on the lid as a base and highlighter, but it can also double up as an overall face highlighter.
I'm currently obsessed with BOURJOIS blush at the moment. My favourite colour is the Rose Eclat as it leaves a natural sheen, with an earthy undertone and a finish that isn't powdery!

Don't be fooled by this perfume's cheap price, it actually smells quite rich and expensive! Intimately Beckham by David and Victoria Beckham features an array of accords including white floral, tuberose, vanilla, sandalwood, citrus, musk and rose.
So why is this perfume in my monthly favourites? well because it smells absolutely delicious and it's cheap enough to wear as much as you want!

Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser has always been a necessity in my family, and boy does it make you skin feel refreshed and clean! I love it because it's fragrance free and extremely gentle on the skin. It doesn't lather and get in you eyes, but its effective enough to remove the day's makeup away!
I've been recently getting back into using Neutrogena's oil free moisturiser for sensitive skin. I used this product when I younger and it didn't do to much for my skin back then. However now the formula works well with my skin type. It has a lightweight consistency and works well as a base product for makeup, most importantly there is no fragrance so it won't lead to any breakouts.
Last but no least is my trusty CLINIQUE 'even better eyes' under eye circle corrector. After using this product for a couple of weeks I noticed a difference on my under eye circles, realising they had become brighter and more even toned. I love applying this product before I apply my moisturiser to allow it to really sink in!
