Little Cottage

Passed by this cottage last week

...so went in closer for a better look.

It was tucked in between some bigger houses. I love the porch, the gate, the cute little yard and all the flowers. And the screen door....especially the old screen door!

What a sweet sweet little cottage!!

Secret Garden

"Two, Four, Six, Eight
Meet you at the garden Gate!"

I always love peeking into the secret gardens around our city. So I definitely enjoyed this book:
Lets go peek into a few gardens, shall we?
There is no shortage of gorgeous old fashioned iron work on the gates and fences.....some plain and simple and some fancy and intricate. A peek in may reveal bright flowers......
big gates.......
little doorways.......
skinny alleyways....
or splashing fountains.

"The gardens of Charleston were mysteries walled away in ivied jewel boxes emitting their special fragrances over high walls........." Pat Conroy

(below)One of my favorites....( I love the stone wall, the bricks and the wooden door hanging open to welcome visitors)

another of my favorites...
I love the stone walkway, the bright flower pots, the purple chair and that pot of vivid purple/white flowers!  Whatever they are, they are amazing!

I hope you enjoyed a peek into these gardens as much as I did!

A Spring Walk in the Marsh

Taking a long walk in the marsh in the spring is a nice change from city walking.
It's a perfect day for it....look at that clear blue sky!

Spanish moss lazily drifting in the breezes

Glossy Magnolia leaves getting ready for summer:

Somebody put a pretty stained glass piece up in this shed window. Pretty!

Nature's Garden, Mount Pleasant

On a nice day we like to go over the bridge into Mount Pleasant and wander around Nature's Garden center (on Coleman Blvd.)There is a little bit of everything to see there! Stone work, statues, stepping stones, garden things, produce, New and old...all mixed together.

I love the sun faces!

Concrete shells.........
The lion stood out to me.......all regal he sits there. He's the only one.....
When you get up close you can see he looks incredibly SAD. Maybe because of "Cecil"?? I would love to have him in my yard.
This big mushroom is about twelve feet tall!

A fun and interesting way to spend an afternoon!
