Blog Hop - Eileen Hull New Chapter 2 Sizzix Dies

Today Eileen Hull's Design Team members are having a blog hop highlighting her wonderful new Chapter Two Sizzix Dies!

I'm sharing two projects I made using her Card: Waterfall and Tags Die set, one project using her Bookbinding and Label Die Set and one super fun 3D Camper!

I used the tag dies from Card: Waterfall and Tags set for this project as well as two of Eileen's dies from past releases:  Folio Page  Pocket and Flowers, and Bookplate Hinges and Labels.
I made 3 sizes of pretty gift tags.
I will have a tutorial on how I put my tags together here on my blog in two weeks.
I used some beautiful shiny foiled papers from Rinea for my tags - layering the foil onto white card
The flowers are die cut out of Sculpting Foam from Sizzix and molded using a heat tool and molding tool.

Here's my 2nd project using the Waterfall Dies from Card: Waterfall and Tags set.   This time I made a waterfall of photos of my grandnephews and grandnieces from Easter 2019.  Such a fun way to display special photos!

My base is made from Eileen's Display Stand Die from a previous release and the scalloped edge along the top is from her Gift Box Scalloped Edge die

I will have a tutorial of how I put this together on a post here next week.
See all supplies listed below.

For my third project today, I used the Bookbinding and Label die inside a journal made using her older Passport Die!

The bookbinding die is a way for you to attach your pages inside a journal.
This is what it looks like - die cut, fan folded and glued.
I trimmed it down to just 3 ridges to fit the width of the binding in the Passport Journal,
and adhered it inside my journal along the binding piece.
Then I glued the binding to the front and back cover pieces.
Here's the front cover in.
I adhered two pages together along each ridge that sticks up.
There was enough room inside the journal to add a little notebook on the back cover.
These are my pages adhered to the bookbinding die cut.

Here's the outside of my Passport Garden themed journal.
I used a piece of soft black leather for the binding!
I will have a full tutorial of how I put this journal together on my blog here in a few weeks.
See all supplies listed below.

And finally, my happy little camper!  Views from both sides and the side where you can see the mints inside the little trailer!   This cute 3D camper box measures about 5 1/2" x 3 1/2".
I will have a tutorial on my blog in a few weeks.
See all supplies listed below.

Gosh - are you overloaded with inspiration from these fun new dies??!

Waltzingmouse New Release DT Blog Waltz - Say It Loud!!!

Yippee!  It's finally here!  the day all 5 new Waltzingmouse Sets are released!  And to celebrate - the WMS Design Team is having a blog Waltz featuring the 5th set -  Say it Loud!   A wonderful sentiment set with BIG words and little words and phrases for you to mix and match.  Something for every kind of occasion!

You should start today's waltz at Claire's Blog.  She also has the complete waltz list posted should you get lost along the way.

If you came here from Kate's blog, you are in the right place!

And here's my card - Isn't this fun!  A card celebrating a new puppy (or two!)   You could also send it to a dog lover that just had a human baby too!  They'd probably get a kick out of it!  Just click on any pic to see it larger.

I was inspired to make this card by this sweet piece of DP from Websters Pages.  I stamped the big word 'baby' and die cut it with a Petite Ovals Nestability, sponged the edges and adhered it with foam tape over my die cut Fancy Tags 2.  Then I stamped the little words phrase 'a bonny new' on a scrap of white, rounded one end, sponged the edges and adhered it over the oval.  This card measures 3 x 5 1/2 so it fits in a regular A2 envelope for mailing.

For my 2nd card I used a stamp from Gingham + Co.,  Join Us (laurel wreath) and Dainty Doiles Large (sentiment).

And my final project for the new release is a tag using Dainty Doilies Large and Dainty Doilies - 2 - Small.
Here's a close up showing the ghosting technique I used yesterday.  You can see that post with a link to this technique here.

And look!!! There will be a prize of a WMS stamp set of choice from a random drawing from the comments left on one of the Design Team's blogs today.  So be sure to leave a comment as you waltz along! You have until 11:59 pm EST on May 2nd to post your comments. (10:59 pm Central, 8:59 pm Pacific)

The winner will be posted on Clair’s blog on the 3rd of the May so be sure to check back there!

Don't forget to take your wish list over to the WMS shop to order your favorite stamp sets!

Now off you go to visit my good friend Carly!

A Blessing and a Thank You!

Hello dear friends! Today I have two cards to share that I made for challenges over on Split Coast this week.

The first was for the color challenge - to use old olive, night of navy and daffodil. I kind of blended the required colors by sponging inks over my image panel.

I just love this Irish Cottage stamp don't you? My images are from the Irish Blessings set by Waltzingmouse Stamps . I will use this as a birthday card - I need several for friends with birthdays in January! I think it will work well for either a guy or a girl birthday.

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Irish Blessing
Paper: white - PTI, Night of Navy & Barely Banana - SU
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress - Weathered wood, faded jeans, scattered straw, bundled sage & Crushed Olive
Accessories: brads - Basic Grey, blending tool & nonstick craft mat - Ranger, Copics - E13

My second card was made for the Inspiration Challenge which was a great website of the art of record album covers called Project Thirty Three (are you old enough to remember record albums?! LOL!!) - I was inspired by this fun graphic album cover I used my Classic Inverted Scalloped square nestabilities and punched circles to adhere over it. Then I just added my sentiment from the WMS set Asian Gardens- easy peasy! And we'll all be needing Thank You cards after Christmas right?! You could make a dozen of these really quickly!
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Asian Gardens
Paper: Vintage Cream - PTI, Black - SU
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: circle punch - SU, Classic Inverted Scalloped Square Nestabilities,

Saturday Waltzingmouse Sketch - Merci!

Welcome dear stampers to another Saturday as well as another Waltzingmouse Sketch challenge! Today we have a fun envelope-look design - what will you create from this??
I went with the literal envelope look on my card. I used my new Classic Diamonds Nestabilities to cut the 'flap' part of my design (I cut the diamond then cut it in half from corner to corner - it measures 5" across)

I used one of the background stamps from Pic-Nic Patterns for the flap and the base stamping, circle and sentiment are all from Victorian Frippery (I just love both of these sets!)
I figured I'd be needing some thank you notes in a week or so!

Check out the WMS Sketch Blog and get inspired by the cards the Mischief Makers and other DT members have created using this week's sketch.

Then make your own card using the sketch and link it on the Sketch Blog by Thursday 1/6/11 at 11:59 pm EST - you could be chosen Top Mouse !! Winners are announced each Saturday along with the new sketch challenge.

The Saturday Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge will be taking a two week break for Christmas and New Years so the next WMS sketch will be posted on Saturday January 8th!

For those who celebrate - I wish you and yours a most blessed Christmas!

If you missed the Waltzingmouse 12 Days of Christmas - check it out
here.
This card is also for the SCS inspiration challenge today - I guess I'm out of the loop - but apparently Canadian hockey commentator (coach?) Don Cherry wears very colorful jackets on TV and there is even a blog that shows them all! So these jackets were our inspiration challenge today! I was inspired by this purple velvet Victorian smoking jacket

I'll be posting a few things next week - so I hope you have a chance to drop by!
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Pic-Nic Patterns, Victorian Frippery
Paper: White, Soft Stone, Plum Pudding - PTI
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress -Milled Lavender, Dusty Concord, Old Paper

Take Note

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone living in the United States - Kent and I will be enjoying the traditional turkey dinner with my sister, brother-in-law, my niece, her husband and my 'cute as pie' 2 month old grandnephew Landon. Don't you want to just squeeze those sweet little cheeks?!?!
Ok - on to a few cards to share. A co-worker asked me to design some thank you notes and personalized initial notes with a seashore theme. So I made up two designs for her.
For this set I used Rustic White cardstock from PTI - I thought it gave the feeling of a sandy beach. I stamped the frame and sentiment in Brushed Corduroy from Ranger. The row of shells is a $1 clear stamp from Michaels that I gold embossed. Unfortunately, the shimmer shows up better IRL than in these pics.
The initials below are from the Waltzingmouse set Victorian Alphabet.

For the second option I used Soft Stone card stock from PTI which is a really light shimmery gray. I stamped the frame in black and the sentiment and initials in London Fog -both by Memento.

The shells are stick ons by Jolee's popped up on foam dimensionals.

My friend Sandy liked them all but preferred the tan/brown/gold embossed ones. What do you think??

Don't forget to come by on Saturday for the next Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! See you then!

Thanks for Being There

Hello my blogging friends! My card today was made for the Teapot Tuesday Challenge over on Split Coast. It's all about flowery teapots and summer, circles, bling and punched edges... you can see the whole story here.

I used the Taylored Expressions sketch TESC129. I turned it on it's side.

The teapartiers can elect to team up with Carolyn King (Cammie) and her Heart to Heart Card Drive for Alzheimers Care Givers. This card will be going to one of the caregivers listed in the teaparty forum.

You can read about Cammie's project on her blog here. Check it out - there is a BIG prize to be won by someone who links a card they are sending to an Alzheimer's Caregiver.

My stamps are Waltzingmouse - the flowers & leaves are from Rescue Remedies and the sentiment is from Rescue Remedies Additions.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Speedy the Cats' Friends Challenge #14 - Thank you!

Welcome to another Speedy the Cats' Friends Challenge! This week Vicki challenged us to make a 'thank you' card.

I chose to use the sentiment 'Blessings' to convey my thanks on my card. These pretty stamps are from a new set being released mid-August by Marks' Finest Papers called Tweet Blessings.

I thought this Basic Grey DP matched the flowered bird perfectly! I colored the flowers on the bird with Copics, cut it out and layered it over the DP. I sponged all the edges 9on bird, sentiment and DP) with Ranger Distress Tea Dye ink and curled up the corners a little bit on the DP.

The sentiment is cut with a small oval punch and framed in a Labels 10 Nestability die cut. I added a few black gems on the bird, the corner and the sentiment.

The stamps, the lime and pink card stock, the ribbon and charm are all from Marks' Finest Papers.

So come on over to Marks Finest Papers Blog and link your Thank You card there. You could win an MFP stamp set!!

If you load your card on Split Coast please use Speedys Friends in your keywords.

Thanks for stopping by today on your busy Saturday - I really appreciate it!

Stamps: Marks Finest Papers - Tweet Blessings (to be released mid-August)

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Pink Passion - SU, Ranger Distress - Tea Dye

A Ribbon Rose and a Thank You Kindly

I just had to try a ribbon rose that Julia showed us on her card for the Ways to Use it Challenge - Raving on Ribbon - over on Split Coast last Thursday.

I didn't have any narrow silk ribbon like she used - so I tried it with the more rustic/homespun saddle stitched ribbon. She used a hot glue gun to adhere her ribbon but I just covered a white card stock circle with Scor Tape, twisted the ribbon and pushed it against the Scor Tape as I laid it down in a swirl starting at the center.

My center orange piece wasn't twisted quite tight enough but I'm happy with how it came out for my first try!

I embossed my Fabriano note card with a long rectangle Nestability and stamped my sentiment right on the card. I adhered the flower to the card with more Scor Tape to be sure it held on!

My sentiment is from Fancy Phrases by Waltzingmouse Stamps

It'll be fun to see how different ribbons look using this technique!

Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps - Fancy Phrases
Paper: Fabriano Note Card,
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Saddle Stitched Ribbon , Enchanted Evening, Orange Zest, Ripe Avocado - PTI, Scor Tape, Long Rectangle Nestability, glue dot

WMS Sneak Peek Day Three!!! - An Asian Garden Thank You

Are you loving all the new WMS sets coming out??? I know I'm loving using them!! There are so many beautiful stamps and so many wonderful sentiments! Only two more days to go 'till you can see them all and get them into your shopping cart!!

Today I'm using Asian Gardens along with Vintage Labels 10 (Yes - they fit the Labels 10 Nestabilities! whoo hoo!!)

Just look at this branch and the wonderful leaves on it (a separate stamp) and the sweet bird cage (there are two in the set!) I stamped them all on a white panel - then stamped the Vintage Labels 10 frame and cut it using two size dies, so it cut the outside and the inside. I popped up the frame over the image panel using foam dimensionals.

I added a coordinating panel on the inside of my card.

Please check out these WMS DT members who are also sneak peeking for you today! Bonnie, Lisa, Belinda, Lynn, Anya, Laurie and, of course, Claire!

See you tomorrow! One more day of sneak peeks and then on 5/1 it's the WMS DT Blog Hop and Release Day!! You could win a free stamp set! Don't miss it!

Please come back tomorrow to see my WMS Mother's Day Card!

I haven't been posting as much this week because I've been on vacation and doing some fun things with the DH like taking walks and going to movies (we saw It's Complicated - how funny was that!?!?! I just LOVE Meryl Streep), visiting my sister for lunch and cleaning up the house a bit! I've also been busy on some DT work that I can't share just yet!
But I do have several more magnetic book marks to show you that I made for some friends.

This one uses the beautiful Celtic cross from the WMS Celtic Heritage set and a sentiment from Notes of Prayer by Verve Stamps

Just a pic of the sticky magnet strips inside the bookmark.

The next 4 bookmarks all use stamps from PTI - Tea for Two, Damask Designs, In Bloom and Wishing You.
Useful little gifts for the book lovers in your life!
Tonight I'm off to teach at the Stamping Around weekend. I'll have some pics to share on Sunday!
