Rainbow Wild Star and MORE - Sweet on You Challenge

  Welcome
to the Sticks
and
 the second day of the
"Sweet on You Challenge"

Here is my finished
Rainbow Wild Star Quilt.

Joan at MooseStashQuilting invited a great group of Bloggers to
create something inspired by something they are sweet on.
Thanks, Joan, for inviting me!

First off, I am sweet on rainbow quilts.
My favorite color pallet is RAINBOW and rainbow scrappy is even more of a
"sweet on you" for me.

I participated in the Wild Star Sew-Along over on Instagram
with
If you click on Lindlee, she still has the pattern info available
in her stories under the Wild Star SAL tab.

Sorry about the creases, but I just unpacked this quilt.

Here is why:

We are sweet on our Kansas City Chiefs football!
Tradition says that if the Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl,
we have to watch it in Las Vegas
at a certain party, in a certain booth,
wearing the same shirts...
you get the idea.

We just had to do our part for the WIN.
The year we didn't go watch the super bowl in Vegas, 2021 (covid), our Chiefs lost.

And since we were going to Vegas, there were a couple of other
 "sweet-on-you"
things we wanted to do!

Visiting my friend Carol at Just Let Me Quilt was "sweet on you" number 1!
She had just signed up for a class at one of our favorite quilt shops,
to make seam rippers.  I was sooo in!

Eye protection first, I was so scared -
Carol was so brave and showed us all how it was done.

It starts out as a block of wood.  You can see it on the lathe.

It's so fun to play once the nerves settled down...

Zach was a great teacher.
We handled the power tools like champs!

And our final "sweet" results-

Carol's is on the left and mine is the red multi
Can you be "sweet on you" with a seam ripper?

Another "sweet on you" thing we like to do in Las Vegas is watch
our favorite college baseball player at the College of Southern Nevada

I had taken the Rainbow Wild Star quilt to Las Vegas to get pictures,
this is not what I had in mind:

It was freezing in Vegas so I was glad the quilt had made the trip with us.
I was double "sweet on you" for this quilt with a minky fabric backing that day.

Check out the others that are "sweet on you" today:

In the end, we made it home with the win and "sweet on you" memories!
Challenge complete!

Twinkle - Wish Upon a Star Blog Hop

Welcome to
Creatin' in the Sticks
where the stars are twinkling today.

The Wish Upon a Star Blog Hop
is hosted by my friend
and she has a super sweet giveaway for the hop.
Don't forget to enter over on her blog by clicking HERE.

I was so excited to make stars, so I started with a couple charm square packs
(Riley Blake's Willow), sliced a few and stitched them together.

Next, I made a table of stars in Word and printed them on one of my favorite
fusible applique tools, HeatnBond EZ Print Lite
No Tracing for me!!!

Some of the stars were reverse appliqued with white fabric in the middle.

And others were fused around the white border.

To embroider the words to Twinkle, twinkle little star I printed the letters on
StitchnSew EZ Quilt Block Sheets
and stitched the letters on my domestic machine with a triple stitch.
After the stitching is finished, the sheets just tear right off with no problem.

The quilt is quilted with bunnies and stars and the backing is a soft, Minky cuddle fabric.
I used batting in the middle and it's just right.

I love that song so much and will keep this quilt
for when my new granddaughter comes to visit my house.
It's the perfect size for her right now.

Have you been keeping up with the hop?

There are all kinds of quilty stars to see.

Here is the complete schedule:
