Tomahawk is a Custom Coasters International, Inc. wooden roller coaster located at PortAventura Park in Salou, Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. The ride opened in 1997.

Design

Elements

Tomahawk runs parallel to another wooden coaster. The twin roller coaster Stampida runs alongside of Tomahawk. Multiple times during the ride, riders will have the chance to "interact" with Stampida where the tracks of both coasters cross paths.

Trains

9 cars per train. In each car, riders are arranged 2 across in a single row, for a total of 18 riders per train. In 2015, the ride's original trains from Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters, Inc. were replaced with Mini-llennium Flyer trains by Great Coasters International.

Incident

On 11 February 2024, 14 people were injured, two seriously, after a tree fell near to the coaster. Some of the branches hit riders. The park blamed the incident on strong winds.[1]
