Supports are what hold up the track of a roller coaster. Different types of roller coasters can affect how supports are set up.

Beam Support

Beam supports on Colossus at Thorpe Park

a Beam Support is a type of support found on most modern roller coasters it usually consists of multiple steel beams either connected by a weld or a flange.

The oldest example of this support type was on Jet Coaster at Nango Fisheries Center

Lattice Supports

Lattice supports are most commonly found on Arrow Dynamics coasters, such as the Custom Looping Coaster and Hyper Coaster. A good example of the lattice structure can be found on Big One (Blackpool Pleasure Beach)
