Researcher collected the data in the form of a questionnaire distributed among the students of Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan. Data has been collected on the basis of quota sampling. Researcher targeted those participants who were readers. Theoretical framework is based on the cultivation theory of Gerbner. Researcher categorize Participants into two categories on the basis of cultivation theory one category is called “Light viewers, participants who use social media less than four hours and the other category is called “Heavy viewers” participant who use social media more than four hours. Researcher analyzes the questionnaire and finds out that 70% of students use social media less than 4 hours and 30% of students use social media more than 4 hours.28% students who use social media more than four hours are less likely towards reading habits, and rest 72% students use social media less than four hours are more likely towards reading habits. In conclusion, those participants who use social media more than four hours their reading habits affect more, and those students who use social media less than four hours their reading habits affect less.
