Blooms Inside

 This is my streptocarpus.

It loves where it sits next to the east facing window in the dining area.

I also have to share my pitcher plant. It has grown so much since I got it.

It also hangs in same area. It is so big and a fun plant to grow.

The plant below it is a never never plant. It seems to be happy there as well. I love the colors of green in the leaves.

I love in door plants.

Not to mention they add joy to the winter months when nothing is  growing in the yard.

Do you grow house plants?

More Blooms

I still have blooming flowers. It seems weird I know.

The roses are doing well and mums are now blooming as well.

The turkeys ate all my marigolds this year. They were doing so well. I was very disapointed with that happening, but I guess there is always next year. I may plant something different next year.

The first year I planted the marigolds they were so beautiful. I loved the bright color.

Since then I have replanted them and every year something happens. This year the turkeys ate them.

The orange gazanias are really pretty so maybe I will try those next year in that spot.

I love bright colors in the garden for summer.

I do have a lot of pinks too, but the bright orange really makes me happy!

Enjoy your Monday! Just four more days and it will be Friday!

Sourdough Sunday

It's another Sunday of baking sourdough.

It has been almost five years since I started this journey.

Have a great Sunday!

Smoky Saturday

Once again we have a fire close with a lot of smoke. So, today was a stay in doors day.  I did laundry, made sourdough and made homemade enchiladas.

I used blue corn masa for my tortillas.

I used chicken, green chilies, monterey jack cheese and sharp cheddar.  I also used enchilada sauce.

They were yummy and there are left overs for later.  Tomorrow is sourdough bake day.  I am hoping the fire is out and the smoke is gone. I want to go outside and work.

I hope your Saturday was a good one!

Night Light

The lights stay on all night.

It is funny how taking a picture makes it look like daytime, but it is dark out.

Tomorrow is Friday.

Looking forward to the weekend.

How are you doing?

Tuesday 9-21-21

It is the last day of summer.

Today I had to get blood work done. OMG. It was the worst experience of my life of having blood drawn.

I have had blood drawn all my life. I am 60+ years old.

I will add here that the lady before me came out with a very upset look on her face and put her hand on her arm and made a face at her husband. She said Ouch!

I usually don't pay attention to people when they say it hurts because I have a really high pain tolerance.

I have always been able to ignore pain.

I don't know why that is.

Anyhow,

I had the blood draw at LabCorp.

I have never used them before, but my doctor ordered it there.

I usually go to Quest.

I will never go to LabCorp again.

I think the lady who drew my blood was possessed.

I swear she rammed the needle in my arm.

(I think she confused me for a horse and used the appropiate sized needle.)

No nice talk, nothing.

 Is this your name? Yes.

Bam.

Is this your name on the blood? Yes.

Your done.

Like was she a robot or something? An alien?

Ugh...I think I am going to have nightmares.

Anyhow, I came home and sat with Baylee for an hour.

Lucky thing I am old. I kept thinking about what if I were a child?

Who would want their child to be treated that way?

Oh well. I could go on and on. I am still very upset.

But let's look at some pictures.

That always makes me feel better.
I am going to miss all the pretty blooms.
Tomorrow is the first day of fall.
Enjoy your day!

New Jack O Lantern

Oh this was a really awesome find.

They have or at least had a bunch at WinCo.

I have wanted a talavera pumpkin since last year.

This one was a good deal.

He is not scary, but super cool.

I have him sitting on my counter in the kitchen right now.

Hopefully this weekend I can get some fall stuff out.

I have a really hard time putting summer decor away.

I love the summer decor.

Fall is nice. I just have to put summer away first. (-:

I can do it!

We have a lot of pumpkins in the garden. Those need to be picked and moved.

That will take the tractor for some of them.

I also need to get two bales of straw at the feed store.

So hopefully this weekend I can start that project.

I will miss my summer decor though.

It is hard to think it will be months again before I can enjoy it.

The long dark days of winter are coming.

I am already dreading that.

We do need rain.

So looking forward to that!

Hope your week is going well!

New Solar Lights

Don't you just love this time of the  year?

Everyday it is different in the garden.

Today I put up new solar lights because my old ones died.

Here it is now.

They are amber colored. I love them!

So different from the bright light ones.

It is hard to get a good picture at night.

Wow! the days are getting shorter fast!

It seems like it was just summer and already we are into our 6th week of school!

How did that happen?

By the time I go to work and come home I am beat.

I think it is because I am getting older.

When I was younger I did the same job and came home and worked for hours outide.

I can't do that now.

At least once a week I think I need to find a different job.

One that requires sitting more. (-:

Oh well.

I hope you are doing well!

Enjoy your week!

It was a blessing yesterday that we had rain. It was so nice.

Today we had sun!

End of Summer Pictures

I was really wondering if these pictures were going to happen. Between the smoke and the heat etc.

Today was the perfect day. It even rained before we could get finished.

 And my favorite.
Love the sand on the feet.

So grateful for another gardening year.

I can't wait to see what next year will bring.
