OWH: Just a note to say Hello

I was crafting at my moms house this week due to me not being able to get to work from the winter storm we just had. (Winter Storm Q if you are curious)... I figured I needed to use some stamps that I havent used.... EVER! I bought this set from Hero Arts at Hobby Lobby this summer. Ive never used it. I know typewriters where a huge trend this summer in the crafting world, so I figured why not actually follow the craft trend and buy it.

THIS IMAGE IS PERFECT FOR OWH CARDS!!!

I hijacked some paper from my mom, since for all of you who know my mom personally... she buys paper, and hoards it. She says she has to let it "age" like her fabric. Well... I think it needed to be used on my cards!!!

I made different cards with this for Operation Write Home. Did you know, that I havent made a single OWH card until Thursday?! Yeah, I am slacking!!!!!

Veterans Day Card

I always forget what I have, or have not posted... But I do know for a fact. I did post this over at the Bombshell Stamps blog for the Monday Muse featuring the Cherry Bomb set. I made this card for an Airman who I have been keeping in contact with Via OWH. I figured why not make him a really cool bomber style Veterans' Day card right? Well.. HE LOVED IT!!!!  It is even one of the cards he actually kept from his tour in Afghanistan. :)

OWH kids!

I never really use clip art, or already colored digis. But lately, I have. I found this clip art, and as soon as I saw it... OWH came popping into my noggin! I am going to make more, and plan to ship a bunch to each shipper. (Like 10 a piece)

Oddly enough this card is dark, but you get the idea of what it is. I really enjoy the use of our Nation's colors. and I love that I got to use my stars CB embossing folder. I used SU night of navy over the top of it.

I hope this card finds itself a great home!

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day!
Please take some time to respect those who have fought and died for our country. You may not agree with what they are fighting for, but they are fighting for you to be able to have your own opinions. I personally have not lost any friends or family close to me in battle, but I have friends who have. I want to thank all my friends and family who have served our great military.

I made atleast 20 of these flag cards for Operation Write Home. They look simple but man did they take forever to make. I love them, and how classic they are.
