BOM - 9 Patch

I simply love working on patchwork block, especially if it is from scratch. I mean without any ready pattern.

What I need is to determine the measure of the finish block and then what is the theme to follow...

Here is my 10 inch block (10.5 with seam) with 9-Patch theme

I made two, with different arrangement..

Cosmo Bag Sew A Long

Inilah hasil last minute joining sew-a-long di Group 1H1P kat FB.

Deadline on 31 Jan and I joined the Group on 30th., gara2 tengok hasil tangan kawan2 yang sungguh cantik menawan kan

Saya menggunakan fabric dari koleksi Frolic by Wendy Slotboom, sangat suka dengan warna hijau pucuk pisang ni sebenarnya.

To be honest, saya rasa inilah the hardest bag I have ever sewn. Masa menjahitnya ada rasa macam nak quit dah.. dah ler patternnya odd shape, so banyak fabric yang terbuang kalau tersalah potong.

Plus... saya salah potong pattern huwaaaaa.. almaklum, pattern tuh di scan, then print, then photostat atas kertas A3... masa menggunting tuh memang tak berapa jelas sangat.

Pocket sisi belah luar pun mokcik lupo yerrr..

Yang ni belah dalam, saya betul2 kehabisan lining fabric hijau ni, nampak tak bag bottom tuh bersambung-sambung hahaha.

Compare to the original bag size, yang pernah saya tengok di CW tak lama dulu, saiz ni agak kecil dan sesuai untuk isi telekung. Handle agak pendek, tak boleh nak letak di bahu, tapi beg ini memang comel.

Lepas ni boleh cuba lagi (ada hati nak cuba lagi tu haha), tapi mungkin saya kena guna interfacing kain, supaya bila beg diterbalikkan, ianya tidak retak seribu hehee.. I mean berkedut. Thanks for the knowledge sharing through this sew along. I learn a lot.

Flower oh Flower

Ingat tak buku Keiko Miyauchi yang saya beli aritu.. ceritanya di sini

Saya memang amat tertarik sekali nak mencuba bunga2 yang cantik2 tuh. Almaklum, rumah saya memang tiada bunga, kecuali bunga ni... yang saya siapkan lama dulu.

So this is the first block finished.. taklah kemas sangat, banyak cacat celanya..

The second block finished last night.. improve skit dari fisrt block, tapi masih banyak jugak perlu di baiki

And now on the third one..

Cadangannya nak siapkan macam dalam buku ni hehehe.. ada lagi 4 block to go

And then saya terfikir... agaknya ada tak kawan2 yang berminat nak join flower applique ni eks?

Apa kata kita buat simple flower applique macam ni..

Kita buat sew-a-long.. boleh kongsi2 pengalaman buat flower applique nii. dan pattern ni saya boleh scan and email to those yang berminat nak join... kalau takmo jadi placemat macam dalam gambar ni, jadikanlah small wall hanging.. pon cantik jugakkan.. at the same time boleh jugak kita kurangkan timbunan scrap yang ada tuhh..

So kalau ada yang berminat bolehlah tinggal komen kat sini yerr.. kalau more than 5 person berminat saya proceed dengan sew-a-long niii..

Anic-Lohas Sew Along : Patchwork Wallet (Week 1)

Week 1 - 4th - 10th  July (Creating the outer piece)

Making wallet??? Once again?? hahaha

Actually, my past experience with wallet making was not a succes story.

some of it peacefully sitting inside my UFO box.

But as usual.. its not the end of it.. and when Anic mentioned about a wallet making sew along, wow.. its a great time for us to learn and share the wallet making journey together..

Since I am a bit occupied lately, I missed the 1st week deadline, and here it is my outer piece..

I choose linen fabric for this wallet, thick linen for the outer side, and the lining (not in the picture) is actually a light weight linen. Quilted with the decorative stitch..

 Ok thats all, i havent cut the cards compartment yet.. till then..

MyBotang Sew Along - Appliqué Project (Phase3)

Lets spot the difference..



The highest number of differences with get a chance to...... attend Prince William's wedding wakaka.. tipah tertifu betul kan.. (tengah menaip tapi telinga dok dengar sorakan kat wedding tuh bila VVIP diorg ni sampai)

Finished on the sewing stage.. as u can see, the stitch is quite uniform... yez yesz.. I didnot use free motion. I choose this number 9 stitch... and I added the butterfly and the bird..

Nak jadi apa dengan bunga2 ditaman nii yer.. nak di siram dan di baja.. TUNGGUUUUUUU

Wokey.. tak boleh nak cerita panjang lagi dah... nak sarapan and then mengunjungi KLIBF2011. Kepada kawan2 yang nak kesana juga... Jumpa di sana yer

MyBotang Sew Along - Appliqué Project (Phase1)

Phase 1 : Print pattern, instruction and choose fabrics - 11 - 17 April (1 week)

Camana nak mula niii.. emmm kumpul2 bahan2 yang diperlukan lah dulu yer..

My plan this time is to clear off my scrap... yesss I love scraps.

Ok.. apa yang ada, and apa yang takde.. and what is the alternative (my mind keep on thinking hehehe)

Lets refer to step by step instructions by sewmamasew , everything are there EXCEPT paper-backed fusible adhesive..

Aiyooo mana mau cari yer?

Ada or takde project mesti mau jalan... ahaaaa I get the solution in mind... why not use the interfacing, medium thick and use the handicraft bond.. or incase tak jalan jugak, I will use my adhesive spray hehehe. Yang penting ianya melekat both side kan.

Just sharing, melalui pengalaman2 lalu dengan applique ni (takat satu dua projek jer pon), the interfacing is a must to prevent the fabric from fraying... and making it stable when we sew it. Dan kalau kita refer to any tutorial on the net, mesti diorg pakai fusible web or kekadang ada yang guna freezer paper. Kalau tanya kat saya, camna bentuknya freezer paper niii.. memang saya tak pernah tengok(live), rasa, apatah lagi menggunakannya.

The backing fabric... aggghhhh.. saya memang selalunya termenung lama depan fabric2 yang saya ada. 

Then saya pilih this combination..

emmm ok tak eks.. still thinking.. kang tetiba dapat firasat dan makrifat lain.. tukar plak hahha. 

Ok..to those who join this project, I really hope that we can share and gain more experience.... to others yang malu2 dan segan2 tapi mau join, silakanlah yer. For detail silalah ke MyBotang
