I almost forgot

I need to show you what a beautiful card that arrived in the mailbox this Friday. It's from Marlene http://mar1ene.wordpress.com/ and it's gorgeous! I hope you can see it, since it was difficult to catch the true colours with the camera when it's no daylight at all.

Well - thank you Marlene for sending me such a nice card. I do hope you enjoy the hänglar & stänglar stamps that I sent you. Can't wait to see what you have been able to create with them.

Friday Sketchers - Sketch no 17

Well - I managed to finish off the challenge before it's time to go back to work again. Why are the weekends sooo short? :-) Well - here's my entry. It's Charlie with his dog. I love this stamp - ordered from Whiff of Joy http://www.shop.whiffofjoy.com/ - illustrated by the talented Alison Acton http://www.dooomcat.com/.

(Paper from stash, Friend stamp from SU http://www.stampinup.com/us/enu/default.asp, snow flakes from stash as well.) Funny how the white glitter looks like gold on the black paper and white on the blue ;-)

It is such a happy image and I can really relate to it. Our son Isac (2 years old) just loves dogs and he thinks that he has two - Zelda (my parents dog) and Wilma (my sister Louise and her husband Fredrik's dog). One time my mother saw him standing in front of Zelda - holding her head saying: Keep your chin up, keep your chin up. The reason why was that he wanted her to kiss him all over his face....hihi.... I wish I could have had a photo of that as well.

Well - I think this is it for me tonight - otherwise I will be too tired at work tomorrow.

Oh - I am so happy

The very talented artist Elisabeth Bell http://www.zhibit.org/elisabethbell/about has been kind enough to leave so nice comments on my blog. I am sooo happy and excited! Guess if this gave me the boost to continue. She is not only a very talented artist, but also someone who takes the time to look at what we create with her illustrations using stamps available at Whiff of Joy http://www.shop.whiffofjoy.com/ or at Funky Kits http://www.funkykits.co.uk/catalog/.

If you do not know about Elisabeth Bell - take a look at her blog and you will just fall in love.....

Sukkersött - Challenge

Well - finally it's Sunday so that I can get at least some time left (when our son is taking a nap ;-) to do some minor creations. This weeks challenge at Sukkersött http://sukkersott.blogspot.com/ is to make a folder card.

I made one to go as a small purse/handbag. I just did not have any velcro (I think that is the word in English for as we say in Sweden - kardborreband) so that I could open and close the bag easily - so that's the only thing left. The beige pocket is made so that you can put a small gift note in there or maybe a piece of chocolate ;-)
Anyway - it's as always difficult to catch the real colours with the camera (need to have my sister Cathrine to have a small lesson with me - she is amazing) http://phos-felis.blogspot.com/.

Hope you'll like it. Looking fwd to hear your comments.

My first try

make this cute folder that looks like a purse ;-) Thank you Rach http://papercraftsbyrach.blogspot.com/ for giving me the tip and link to Nixie Monie http://nixe-moni.blogspot.com/2008/07/dt-paperbasics-cardfolder-my-first.html on how to do this. It was actually very fun and easy.

I have made it for one of my husband's colleagues- My husband is leaving his current position and he wanted to show some appreciation to Mari-Anne (who also has been one of my most frequent customers when it comes to cards). I made a special small note to go inside, but forgot to take a photo of it + a gift voucher for flowers. I'll hope she will like it (she's receving it tomorrow - so I do hope that she is not looking at this site before then ;-)

I did not decorate it too much, since I loved the designer paper from Heide Grace designs so much. Coloured with SU markers, rub-on from SU and text stamp with "memories" from SU. I hope you'll like it.

Result from this weekend

Well - I had to make a few more cards this weekend, since the first day back in the office after vacation is today (less time to left for the fun stuff - cardmaking..... ;-)

Here are 2 of them after the great link from Marlene http://mar1ene.wordpress.com/ to the Criss Cross tutorial on http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/crisscrosscard.php

First card with stamp from Whiff of Joy http://www.shop.whiffofjoy.com/ and the other one is bought in the Magnolia shop in Borås (could also be ordered on-line http://www.magnolia.nu/).

Coloured with SU markers and text stamps also from SU.

Let me know what you think.

My first X-mas card

and my contribution to this weeks Friday Sketchers challenge. http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/

The card is coloured with SU markers and highlighted with white gel pen. I wanted to try this time to only use the SU markers without my aquarell brush. The colouring is much stronger of course, but I thought it turned out OK anyway.

The stamp is from Inky Antics Rubber stamps http://www.inkyantics.com/best.htm

Paper from our local shop Pysselakuten. Text stamp from stampinup http://www.stampinup.com/us/enu/default.asp.

Looking fwd to read your comments. (Hopefully you'll see the cards better if you click on the pics.)

Ps. It was actually fun to create a X-mas card already. I did not think that I would be in the mood, but since vacation period is over - I was :-)

Friday Sketchers

My first entrance to the Friday Sketchers challenge (http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/).
I found the link to this fun and inspirational site from the talented Marlene http://mar1ene.wordpress.com/. So I thought I would give it a try. The colours were difficult to catch with my camera, since the lightning indoors is not perfect and it's pooring buckets outside.... Hope you'll like it anyway. Colouring with my SU markers and highlighted with glitter stickles, text stamp from SU as well as the white rub-on flowers. Cardstock from SU and from our local shop Pysselakuten. Pearls from our local shop Pysselakuten. The cute stamp by Elisabeth Bell (bought from Funky Kits http://www.funkykits.co.uk/catalog/)

Isac our 2-year old son love to help out, so he picked the flowers.

Some photos from our week at Romholmen

We spent a week in Romholmen (located in Nyköping) and from there we went on daily excursions to Skansen in Stockholm http://www.skansen.se/, Kolmården http://www.kolmarden.com/Om-Kolmarden/Sprak/English/ (a great park - if you ever visit Sweden you should def go there. Their dolphin show is amazing) and Julita gård (to visit Pettson and Findus) http://www.nordiskamuseet.se/julita/and also a short trip to Trosa http://www.trosa.com/index_eng.php.

Here's some photos....

Alexander's Christening

We were asked to be Alexander's God Parents. Alexander is Isac's youngest cousin (so far).
The Christening went well and Alexander were just adorable. Here's some few pics from the Christening + also the card that I made for him.

Water bottle holder and Post-it-notes cover

The days by the beach seems to be over. It's pooring down here at the moment and have been so for many days. The grass is growing, so I guess it looks like we are not here at all :-)
Well - inspired by the talented Angie http://chicnscratch.typepad.com/stampinacademy/ I tried to make some water bottle holders and post-it-notes covers. She has many great tutorials and I think it is fun to get a lot of new inspiration and not only for card-making.

I guess the water bottle holders could be used for example at big parties putting a name-tag on each of them. I put a "Merci-chocolate" in mine. (I am just showing one of the one's that I made).

The covers for the post-it-notes holder are light-weight coasters that I bought from Angie.

Hope you'll like them. Looking fwd to your comments.
Love,
Anki
