Hi, don’t know if you’ve been ask, but I was curious about the face accessories that is sometime seen with the hanfu. The one that goes up to the nose and cover the bottom of the face with rolls of beads/chains going down. It’s so pretty and I was wondering what it’s for? Is it like a wedding thing?
Hi, thanks for the question!
The face accessory sometimes worn with hanfu that you’re referring to is called Mianlian/面帘. It’s a purely decorative modern take on traditional Chinese fashion. I wrote about Mianlian in my post here - please check it out! ^^
