Confinement

I started postpartum confinement from day 17th after deliver the baby sebab baby kena prolonged jaundice. Pasrah la kena visit the clinic for checkups almost every day until the clinic refer Zeya to the hospital for detail checkup with the doctor. Her tears as the nurse drew her blood pained me so much and it continued until the most recent appointment. 

I didn't expect to visit the clinic & hospital so often because I forgot the fact that most newborns experience jaundice — hence imagine the struggle for C-sec mothers like me. I guess C-sec warrior would know how painful it is to walk after the surgery. God is great —  the One who creates women with the ability to carry another human in their body and to be able to bear the pain of giving birth.

Since the beginning of my third trimester, I have been searching for a reputable confinement service provider, and I came across "Lavender Confinement Care" on Instagram. I think this company should be ok sebab nampak ada influencers and celebrities yg guna service diorang. Unfortunately, non of Confinement Lady available on my preferred date in JB. So I continued looking and found another CL provider, "Sumayyah Anggun Confinement". After did some research with reviews from their previous customers, I guess I would give them a call to enquire about their services and packages.

Before giving birth, I discussed with my husband to use CL (Confinement Lady) service for 21 days sebab macam rasa nak rest and manjakan diri lepas penat mengandung and bersalin but then I think 14 days was enough because macam dah biasa uruskan baby since I discharged from the hospital. When the CL texted me and discussed about the service that included in the package, I think 7 days was more than enough.  So the package includes urutan postnatal, urutan lancarkan susu, bertungku, param pilis & tapel, bengkung, hair therapy, mandian herba, rawatan bayi, sauna, bertangas, foot bath, refleksologi, urutan seri wajah & body scrub and also rawatan untuk baby and masakkan lauk pantang. 

My CL "Atikah", a 32 years old lady was very friendly and masak sedap. Every day, she decorated the dishes on the table nicely and I was like "oh makan pantang can be this nice eh?" haha. 

Everytime bila tgh sesi massage, we did it dekat living area so we could watch netflix together and sambil tu I kept asking about petua itu dan ini for me and baby. Ye lah, first mom kan and she was very helpful. The thing I like about Atikah is she's very independent and tak kedekut nak share knowledge with her clients. We talked like sisters and I'm glad for that.

As I said, 7 days was more than enough coz I prefer not to have stranger in my house lama-lama. I simply don't feel comfortable, and I suppose it would be better for me to focus on my confinement treatment  rather than my insecurities. Apart from that, I feel better after 7 days of treatment. Even though my husband kept offering me to extend the CL service, I refused and I told him that I was fine with only 7 days.

I still remember the first day when I met Atikah, she said "akak nampak macam tak pantang eh" and I just smiled sambil dukung baby walaupun luka czer masih sakit then I replied, "pantang? apa tu?" (sarcasm) — we laughed. Maybe because I postponed the treatment due to Zeya's appointment, so tak nampak macam tengah berpantang. I guess pantang kena pakai kain batik, ikat sanggul tinggi, pakai socks etc and I just wore my pyjama that day. Stokin pun tak pakai. Angin dah macam tornado dalam badan.

Thanks to Atikah for her excellent massage skills, I felt like I had a spa treatment at home. Angin & sakit urat semua hilang.

I think that's all I wanna share about my confinement experience. Thanks to husband yang masakkan delicious confinement dishes since day 5 to 16 and thanks for the CL service that you provided for us, me and our baby. We love you endlessly.
