Link, while sleepwalking, shoots an arrow tied to a rope across to Princess Zelda's bedroom, but is woken up by the princess before he is able to reach the other side.[1] After speaking of his true feelings for Zelda,[2] she leans over to give the young hero a kiss but the two are suddenly interrupted when Zelda notices three Vires flying towards the chamber where the Triforce of Wisdom is kept.[3] Zelda realizes that they plan to blow up the Triforce with a bomb so that they will be able to carry it back to the Underworld.[4] Although Link rushes over to stop the monsters,[5] he is knocked over by the explosion of the bomb and is rescued just in time by Zelda. The young duo make it in time to zap one of the Vires carrying a shard of the Triforce, but the other two manage to get away into the Underworld.[6] Thinking quickly, Zelda remembers that, since all of the pieces of the Triforce are magically linked, if Link shoots a sword beam into the shard that they currently have, it will go through the two others and zap the Vires.[7] The two Vires are effectively defeated, but due to the foes taking separate ways to the Underworld, one of the pieces falls into the Black Falls and another one into a lava area.[8]
The two heroes grab their shard of the Triforce and begin to head towards an Underworld entrance. Zelda uses the Triforce's magic to dry up a puddle covering the entrance[9] and utilizes the Magic Compass to know which way to go.[10] As they make their way to the first Triforce shard, Ropes attack Link, but after he zaps a few of them, Zelda tells him to stop using his sword since otherwise Ganon will know their location.[11] The pair eventually arrives at the Black Falls, where Link dives in to recover the Triforce shard;[12] however, as he's about to grab it, an Aquamentus attacks him and takes him to the surface while Link is riding on top of it.[13] Zelda then grabs a bomb from Link's pouch and throws it at the Aquamentus, which promptly defeats it.[14] With only one shard left, Link and Zelda head off in the direction that the Magic Compass points to, which is a room full of lava pits. Equipping himself with the Magical Shield to defend himself from the rising fire flames, Link eventually finds the last shard, but just as he's about to pick it up,[15] Ganon appears and confronts the young hero, telling him that the shard is his.[16] Link, knowing that the Triforce piece is burning hot,[17] throws it to Ganon's hands, but the evil wizard immediately throws it back when he burns his hands holding it. The young hero then gives it over to Zelda, who finally reunites the Triforce of Wisdom;[18] however, she begins to run away when Ganon throws fire flames in her direction. Link then uses his shield to "flame surf" and grabs Zelda on his way out the Underworld, which they safely exit just before the fire reaches them.[19] The episode ends with Link trying to get a kiss from Zelda, only to be rejected yet again.
