"The Ceremonial Song" is a Shrine Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Overview

After Link has calmed Divine Beast Vah Ruta, he will find Laruta singing in front of Mipha's Statue in the Zora's Domain Square.[2] She continues to sing once Link approaches her,[3] but she is shocked when she recognizes him as the Hylian who helped Sidon.[4] When Link asks about her singing, Laruta reveals that she was singing a song from the Champion Festival and asks if he would like to hear it.[5] If Link agrees to listen, Laruta will sing the "Champion Festival Song" for him.[6] The lyrics describe a scale of light splitting the feet at Veiled Falls, which will reveal a trial.[7]

While she does not understand the "Champion Festival Song", Laruta plans on singing it until the next Champion Festival.[8] Even though Trello is in charge of the Festival, Laruta has noticed that he has not done anything to prepare yet.[9] She wonders if he forgot that he was supposed to do so.[10] With this, the Shrine Quest begins.

Trello can be found pacing on the western bridge out of Zora's Domain. He reveals that he needs to devise a plan to find the Ceremonial Trident.[11] When Link asks, Trello tells him that it is used in the Champion Festival to honor Mipha in place of the actual Lightscale Trident.[12] On the way to have the Ceremonial Trident examined by Dento, Trello accidentally dropped it off the bridge.[13] As it is a fake, Trello plans on asking Dento to make a new one for him.[14] Should someone find the missing Ceremonial Trident, Trello will allow them to keep it.[15]

Link can retrieve the Ceremonial Trident by walking out onto the Water with Cryonis. Once he is in range, he will be able to lift it out with the Magnesis Rune. With the Ceremonial Trident, Link can jump off the stop of the Veiled Falls and strike the Pedestal in the Water, causing Dagah Keek Shrine to rise from the ground nearby, completing the Shrine Quest.[16]
