Game(s)
Quest Giver Molli
Location Rito Village
Reward Mozo Shenno Shrine

"The Bird in the Mountains" is a Shrine Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Overview

In Rito Village, Link can meet a young Rito named Molli, who asks him if he wants to hear a story.[2] If Link agrees, she tells of a time her Grandpa stopped at a Cedar Tree while Climbing a mountain, and he looked down to the northwest.[3] When he did, he saw a huge white Bird with its wings spread out.[4] He flew after the Bird, at which point he noticed something inside of its stomach.[5]

Molli pauses when she is about to reveal what the Bird swallowed.[6] When Link asks her what it was, Molli admits that she gets sleepy at this part of the story and does not remember.[7] However, she does know where the Cedar Tree is,[8] pointing out a Cedar Tree on Talonto Peak.[9] Molli wonders what the Bird swallowed, and she laments being unable to ask her grandfather now.[10] When she finishes speaking, the Shrine Quest begins.[note 1]

If Link Climbs Talonto Peak and looks to the northwest, he will see Biron Snowshelf, which looks like the silhouette of a Bird. As he Paraglides towards it, the glow of Mozo Shenno Shrine will become visible from a cave below the Snowshelf. Once the Ancient Shrine is activated, the Shrine Quest will be completed.

Objectives

Stage Description
1 Molli in Rito Village told you a story about the lone cedar tree on the Hebra Mountains.

"Once upon a time, my grandpa stopped at a big tree while he was climbing a big mountain and looked below him to the northwest. When suddenly he saw a HUGE snow-white birdie with its wings spread wide! My grandpa took off flying after the snow-white birdie. And as he got a little closer to the white birdie, Grandpa saw something SUPER important inside its belly!"
Complete When you looked out from the top of the lone cedar tree Molli told you about, you saw the shape of a large bird in the snowy cliff tops.

As you soared down to investigate, you caught a glimpse of a hidden ancient shrine!
