Shark
Sharks are a recurring species in The Legend of Zelda series.(MM3DMajora's Mask 3D)[1][name references needed] While some games feature Sharks more closely resembling real world varieties, these are not encountered as enemies and are usually featured as Ingredients or rare Fish that can be caught. Shark-like animals encountered by Link as enemies have varying appearances and do not resemble real Shark species.
Overview
=Ocarina of Time
In Ocarina of Time, when diving into the pool inside the Lakeside Laboratory, a motionless Shark imprisoned behind bars can be seen at the bottom. This is not explained by the Lake Scientist, nor is it elaborated on at any point in the game.
Majora's Mask 3D
The addition of the Ocean Fishing Hole in Majora's Mask 3D added twelve additional Fish to be caught, including the Savage Shark, which is available at any time each day, but requires a Sinking Lure to catch it. They appear in the area with the six platforms, and are vulnerable while Link is reeling a smaller Fish.
The Wind Waker
Gyorgs
A recurring, Shark-like enemy first introduced in The Wind Waker, Gyorgs also appear in Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. If encountered while sailing, they will attempt to knock Link out of his boat by ramming it head-on, and will attempt to bite him if he is swimming nearby. If a group of Gyorgs is encountered while the King of Red Lions is immobile, they will circle the boat until one of them closes in to ram the boat or to bite Link. Gyorgs can be avoided, or they can be defeated with two hits of the Boomerang or Arrows, or with a single blast of the Cannon.
Shark Island
One of the Great Sea Islands in The Wind Waker, Shark Island is named such for its distinct shark-like appearance. It contains a secret cave surrounded by fire and a small puzzle that must be completed in order to gain entry. It is also one of the eight locations the Koroks chose to plant the Forest Trees.
Spirit Tracks
Malgyorgs
The sand-dwelling counterparts of the Gyorgs, Malgyorgs were first encountered in Spirit Tracks in the Sand Realm, predominantly in the area surrounding the Sand Sanctuary. Much like their predecessors, Malgyorgs are Shark-like in appearance, but have a brown color scheme to better blend in with their desert surroundings. They can be coaxed out with the Spirit Train's whistle and defeated with a single blow from the Cannon.
