Gloom Swords are Items in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Location and Uses
Gloom Swords are dropped by Phantom Ganon on defeat. While powerful, they will cause Link to take Gloom damage with each attack they perform. This effect can be negated by Fusing them with another Weapon. Demon King Ganondorf is able to wield Gloom Swords during his battle with Link at Gloom's Origin.
Trivia
- Two examples of the Hylian writing system from The Wind Waker are present on Gloom Swords. They bear inscriptions that translate to Koume and Kotake, Ganondorf's surrogate mothers from Ocarina of Time.[citation needed] In The Wind Waker, Ganondorf's Swords feature these same inscriptions.
